HTML - Html Site Preloader
Hi guys.
I'm doing a website for a friend. All is going well but I've hit a couple of problems, the first I think is pretty easy to solve but I can't for the life of me remember what to do; I want some of the main images in the site (logo, background etc) to remain in cache so that when the user flicks pages it doesn't need to load them. I tried a CCS style form but placing the background image (a white square basicly) exactly where I want it, isn't easy. Secondly I want to use a preloader on the site, that preloads all the pages first. I have a series of images that I want to load as part of the progess indicator & want some to apper at say 20% another at 30% etc. Once all the background stuff is loaded it would then automaticly move on to the index page. I've had a play in flash & can get the series of images to play but have no idea how to get this to intergrate with the HTML. Thanks in advance. Ross Similar TutorialsHello, I'm not the best web designer (I used frontpage!), but I've got a question. I have a flash file in my website and the flash file always loads (and starts playing) before the background loads. Is there anyway I can create a preloader (in frontpage not flash) that will load all the contents of the site first and then display it? Thanks for the help! how to put a preloader in html page for flash file while it is taking time to load. help me with simple solution I am wondering if it is possible to create an INDEX.HTML to redirect to another website? I would like it to display the redirected site, but if possible keep to the original address.. e.g. A site named www.mysite.com, with an INDEX.HTML to redirect to www.othersite.com, which displays OTHERSITE with www.mysite.com in the address bar. Hope I explained ok, any responce would be much appricated! Thanks! I am working on a site and the picture at the front looks nice and correct size in Firefox but the image gets stretched and looks bad in IE (not at first but if you refresh the page). I know a realitivly small amount about HTML. I'm new to these forums. A new free MMO is being launched on June 20, and I have decided to make a nice guild page for the guild me and a friend have made. However, having absolutely no experience whatsoever with coding, I've run into some problems. The site may be viewed he www.maliceadmin.5gbfree.com I have set the site up perfectly the way I want it on my main desktop. Everything is aligned perfectly, no trouble at all. This is on a 19 inch monitor at 1280x960 resolution. However, I was just surfing the web upstairs here on my laptop and decided to check out my site. The text is not aligned properly as it was shown on my main desktop. I'm completely new to coding so please be very detailed in your responses. Does anybody know what the problem might be? Also, I couldn't figure out how to adjust the height of my table. For example, when text reaches the end of the black box, I want it to cut off and have a scrollbar to be scrollable. My final and least important question why the text size and alignment works on Firefox, but not IE. That would be all. Thanks for your time. Basically I want to know how do I integrate code from one website to my website. I basically want to show info from yelp.com and put some comments onto my site for a business and I want it so when someone adds a comment to yelp my site updates with it, so i dont have to go copy/paste the comment. Is this possible without using a iframe and if so, how? Want the comments from this url: http://www.yelp.com/biz/burger-delux-northville added to this site on its own page: http://burgerdeluxellc.com/ Hello guys, i have little problem with my website. www.tvfm.mk/tv.html when you go to that link it redirects you to a website with gay porn. Is there any way to stop that redirect ? Okay I'll be very happy of any help I get. So I know something about html- code but not enough. I need to create a site witch has a background image, centered switching page(like example: http://www.oipolloi.com/), and three links: Home, Gallery and Contact. Thanks already. I'm really new to html. After struggling with all the builders though and not being satisfied I decided to learn it myself. I have a domain with webhostinghub. Today I started creating the html for my site and got the front page pretty much done and I wanted to make sure it worked with my host, but I can't figure out how to add it. I tried using the upload tool on webhostinghub but didn't have any luck. Can anyone help me or point me to a site that explains how to transfer the html that I wrote in notepad over to my domain? Hello this is my first post i know some things about html but not too many i want to make a site but dont know some thing yet. i dont want to download a template i make it with notepad now. 1)how exactly i can put images at the exact place and there isnt any space between pictures? 2)how i can put pictures on pictures, i want to make a small image that inside there will be links and those links will be small images 3)i want in the middle of site to be some news that will be written in front of an the image for news how i do that. 4)also i want to make a small windows that will saw some picture and those pictures will change every 5 seconds for all these things will i need any other programm or i can do it just with notepad? Hi, This will sound such a rookie question simply because I've never done this. Ok, I've created a page for a friend entirely within Fireworks. I have sliced the page and exported it in HTML to Dreamwaver. Now I do this a lot with ebay listings, and I simply upload the slices to a free online hosting company, they then give me the image location and I paste that into the slices src and job done, one pretty listing. Now, I'm trying to use Filezilla to upload the slices of the page in question to their host, which I'm doing easy enough. However, Filezilla doesn't let me see the location of the image, so I've no idea what to paste into the src! It has been stressing me to the max the past 24hrs as its all I need to get the site online! Thanks in advance for any help offered. How do sites like MLB.com make it so they have their background and on top of that they have a window that shows their actual site. I want to do this to my site but like I said I am relatively new to HTML Is there any way to extract the HTML from this MySpace page? I have a client who is interested in making a clone MySpace page similar to this one, I've tried saving the website and it doesnt work: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...endID=71390434 One problem I'm seriously having, is to have the background scroll to the left and right with the existing page. I cannot get this done on my own for some reason. Any help'd be appreciated. Thanks Nick Intuition Webdesign Hey guys ive made my first design for myself Here and i was wounder is there any good tutortials for forums / user list on site ? Ive now learnt how to make a site wanna learn how to use the database with login / forum and show user list. any help would be greatly appriciated Hi, I'm not very advanced or anything, but I've coded websites before from scratch using Text Edit and an FTP client. I haven't done it for a few years and recently made a website with Cyber duck as the FTP client and SubEthaEdit as the external editor. I made a simple code for frames, and the site looks terrific on my Mac's Safari and Internet Explorer. When I checked it out on my friend's PC, it's just one big color background and nothing else. It also doesn't work on Mac's Firefox. I don't know what I did wrong, and how to fix the code to make it work on PCs or Firefox. Do PCs not recognize code that Macs do? Is there a way to change it? It's probably my fault, I just don't know what it's missing. I'd appreciate any help anyone has to offer, because I'm clueless and disappointed about it. Thanks, Jenny |
