HTML - Start A Page Scrolled Down By Default

Hi,

i'm doing an interface for a database, and i want to print my query results on tables. As i have many entries, i need a big table so i want to do a table with scroll where my header doesn't get out of sight (ever) when i scroll down.

im working on NuSphere Phped, Windows 7.
This code is working only on the PHPed simulator...on chrome and FF the scrollbar dont appear:

can someone tell me how to make it work on those browsers?

Hello,

I am loading a webpage with an embedded youtube video (and paragraphs of text data) into an iframe window. This works fine, but when I scroll the iframe window (up/down), the youtube video doesn't scroll with it. It distorts. To be clear, I have two browsers, Mozilla Firebird, and IE6, and in Firebird it works fine, IE6 is where I have the trouble.

I'm not too sure if this is the right section for this, so forgive me if it's not...

I am about to embark on designing a new site, I have some experience of HTML and general design, but not too much beyond that. The site I am aiming to develop is to be a lot more dynamic than anything I have done in the past.

I am not too sure on the best methods for acheiving what I want, so I will list the desired features. It would be really helpful if someone could tell me which languages I need to look at. I am prepared to learn for this (already started looking into very basic xml and php), but the main goal is an easy to use, well presented site in a relatively short time.

The features I require are as follows:

1. A news/post section for only selected members to log in and add content (including the odd graphic). It would be useful if each post could exist as an independent 'module' and, for instance, appear on its own embedded on another site.

2. A music player (probably flash, this on itself is not an issue) that can also be embedded in another site.

3. A user forum (I have a MySQL database, but have no real experience of using it) - possibly using PHPBB?.

4. A number of linear comments sections that can exist below posts and other items (that does not necessarily require login, but can include a name and comment).

5. A site design which remains the same page for page but where the content can be entirely different (so the title and links etc. remain the same).

Once again, I am not looking for detailed instructions on how to acheive this, just what I need to start looking at and any tips or problems I am likely to run into.

I would be extremely grateful if someone would take the time to indulge me.

Ok, I'm not a developer by any means, I've been seeking help on this forum for awhile, for little things. I'm basically going to attempt to learn this all on my own with help of course from this site, books, and others.

I have designed the basic mock up for my site, and want to see where and how I can start from scratch.

I'm trying to do this entirely in dreamweaver/css (is it possible)

My main question is, whats the best way to divide up this layout as far as div tags go?

It's wierd because I have the right hand side which incorporates a "header" (design part) and a journal, news, blog thing.

And then the left hand side I intend on being static information that holds the content.

Any advice? I know this is a mess, sorry, I'm a print guy

So first off, I am looking to build a website that will incorporate a CMS. Do you have to use certain type of code types so that it will work with different CMS's?

Read somewhere that certain dropdown menu's and such only worked with certain CMS...

So I guess, if I am looking to build a site, do I need to know what CMS I am going to use from the start?

I'm trying to put default values in my Input fields, which are text fields, of course, but I have numeric input values so I want them on the right. Is there any way to do this?

I am new to HTML and i am a bit stuck.
I have written a Java script to populate a text box with the contents of a directory and what I want to do is to display a gif or picture whilst the data is getting retrieved.

My code is (it is in a grid)

I was just curious when I make a form element, if there is a default name that is set to that form if I do not use the "name=" attribute".

I have a document with objects positioned with Absolute values. I want to center the page vertically and horizontally. Is there any way to change the default X and Y, so that the page will display where I want it to?

I have very little design experience, just playing around with DreamWeaver. I am 13 and want to pursue a career in Web site design.

What do I need?
Where do I go?
What should I learn?

I am not too keen on coding a page, I would like to do it visually. Is this right?

Well ive been coding games for BYOND (Build your own network dream) for a while it wasnt that dificult to grasp the coding style and i just recently started coding for windows phone 7 XNA games. Well as i was talking about coding for wp7 me and my friend came up with a really good idea for a new social networking website nothing like myspace or facebook so hey, what do we have to lose? Well the past 2 days ive learned basic HTML coding but i have no idea where to start. I really need help. Where do i run the HTML code i make to see how it would test as a web site is one of the main things i cant seem to figure out. I also need to know how to make different pages within the website Please help it would be greatly appreciated.
