HTML - For Pages Not To Be Spidered By Search Engines...
I have a particular page on my website that I DO NOT want to be spidered by search engines. I have done research and read about the following META tag code:
I see that there are basic tags and then there are separate tags for MSN, AOL, and other sites in general. I guess there is no way to prevent every search engine from finding you but does too many meta tags cause confusion or just do their job? Despite the code seemingly correct, Google & Yahoo seem to ignore it. I have heard Google takes at least 6 hours to propagate any changes in the index.html, but it's been about 12 hours now and nothing has changed. Here is what Google displays: (see attachment) As you can tell from the attachment, it's retrieving text from the body of my index file. This is NOT what I want. It needs to read from the meta description instead. How can I prevent search engines from indexing a paragraph? I know that with <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX"> you can prevent search engines from indexing a page. But I just want to stop them from indexing one paragraph in a page, not the whole page. I made a site with Dreamweaver that has frames and within those frames I have different html pages that load into them. I came across an extension once which I believe prevented those pages from coming up in Google searches but cannot relocate it. Hi, I am wanting to impliment a feature where I can install a search box on my website that will search anothers content. Basically I have two sites, one has thousands of sound effects on it, the other is more of a portal site. On the portal site I want to add a search box that will link into the other sites database so that the user would navigate away from the portal site and be taken to the stabndard search results page of the main site based on thier queory. I'm using IE8 to test Hi, I'm trying to add a google search box (in a table) to my web page, but for some reason it the input button links to the page I am currently on. The strange part is that I put the same exact code in another cell right next to the other google search box and that one works wonderfully while the first one still links to the current page. It is the same with any search engine (yahoo, bing, ask), the first search box links to the current page and the rest work great. If this is in the wrong section sorry, i have been thinking of adding a new page to my site and added sky sports, but how do i set up a page that opens another web page right away? How do I make variable pages? EG: ../showgame?id=10 So multiple pages can begenerated from one document. I'm currently making a new layout for my site and before it will go online, I want to set all my pages on a BRB page/status (customized with my own brb logo+text etc.. Anyway I can do this? |
