HTML - This One Should Be Easy For You Guys
Hey, I need to set up a ****ty little page like this one so that our vendors can download our delivery items from one place.
http://www.shorelineent.com/del/index.html Obviously, setting up the links on the page is no problem, but what I can't figure out is how to get it to prompt them for a password before they can download the file like it does there. Can anyone give me any ideas? I feel like I should know this... Similar TutorialsI am working on this website: http://www.djcarchitect.com/portfoli...tprojects.html I want to add about 30 extra projects on the left side, under Current projects. I want this to be able to scroll vertically, so that it doesn't stretch my page down. I tried using an iFrame for the links, but whenever I clicked on a link inside the iframe, it opened up the target page within the iframe as well (it was all smushed). I would ideally like to have a ton of those links, be able to scroll vertically, and open in the same window without adding more windows for the people on the site. Any help please? Thank you! Hey everyone, I designed a site for a client of mine. He developed a weather radar program and he wants to sell the idea to various news organizations. The site that I'm designing is for WCBS 880 radio. Here is the test page - http://zoomradar.com/wcbs880 Anywho, this is the problem I'm having. I have two iframes on the page. One for the actual map and one for the weather forecast which we are using from the national weather service site (don't worry, we are allowed too). Here is the problem.... The forecast iframe is causing a bend/distortion in the radar map iframe about 3/4 of the way down. My client says you can't miss it and he has sent me pictures too because I can't see it myself. He says that he sees it on windows computers using the latest firefox. I'm wondering if any of you can verify this and maybe guide me towards a solution because I can't seem to figure one out. He says that the bend is in the shape of the iframe almost like it is hovering over the radar map but not really creating a mirror image??? Not sure if this makes sense to any of you. Hopefully you see what he's seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I'm getting to the bottom of the barrel here. Thank you very much in advance - Dan Hello. I just joined the forums because I want to start making websites again. I used to do it about 3 years ago ( nothing hardcore), but i knew enough to make basic websites. Now, I want to learn the more indepth stuff. Such as Mysql, perl, css, java, javascript etc... i dont even know what someof those are. So heres my question. WHERE SHOULD I START? I want to start from scratch. I dont even rememeber some of the html stuff, so where do you guys think i should start? what are the fundamentals i need to know in order to move on to the more difficult stuff. One last thing, can someone tell me the difference between html/xhtml/xml.. im kinda lost... Alright guys here's my problem. I uploaded an .swf to this site: http://img88.imageshack.us/my.php?im...rnsred2uz0.swf From there I copied the code at the very bottom :: Right across from HTML (<embed src='http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8120/augustburnsred2uz0.swf' quality='high' pluginspage='http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' width='640' height='480'></embed><br/><a href='http://www.imageshack.us/'>[Upload your own video]</a>) So I want to be able to do two things. First off, I want to be able to put that entire code into a scrolling box on my website (it's a band banner and I want others to have the code to use). I know I can use the code on forums because they use BBC (or whatever), but how would I make it so the code reads inside a box without the banner popping up? My second question is :: From the imageshack link I gave you you can click on it and it will direct me to my myspace. But when I place the code into my myspace, the link doesnt work anymore (getting rid of the point of a banner!) I was wondering if there was some sort of an <a herf... type code to get the link back and working? Thanks guys, I hope you guys are nice!! im having trouble in finding a way to transfer the infos ive collected in 1st and 2nd pages going to 3rd page. e.g. Quote: 1st page: First Name: ___________ <--- the user will input his first name 2nd page: Last Name: ___________<--- the user will input his last name 3rd page: My name is [first name] [last name].. <----- will display the user's first and last name.. i already made a code for this program but my problem is only the information in the 2nd page is shown in the 3rd page.. there's still a problem *sob*.. need help pls.. Hey guys, I'm new to HTML... Well not completely new, I know the basics like how to bold stuff, how to make a new paragraph, line-breakers, all that easy stuff. Now I have a project to do by the end of this summer... I'm expected to make a site where people can Rent Toys online (dont ask ) . So I have to be able to have Paypal Access in my site. Now I need a bit of help... I started reading a couple of tutorials on this site and I'm trying my best to understand them. My question is, where do I start writing or developing my site? I can't just put it on Microsoft Word, there has to be a web page developing server or site I can use.... Any recommendations? I can pay whatever the cost is; After all in the end (if I finish everything) my reward is breath-taking... If there is a specific web developing company or server that deals with Paypal, or online purchasing, that would be helpful information to know as well. Thanks guys! That's all the questions I have for now my website is here crafthouse.net.au the offending directory is crafthouse.net.au/bonnie.php I have written this site with notepad. I use htm, css, and javascript routines from either freeware sites or other sources The site displays galleries of images (an amateur interest of mine) Each gallery page has a text preamble with thumbs below. Clicking on a thumb lays a transparent layer over the parent and a larger version of the image slides open centred on the page - looks very sweet (the routine is freeware - I adapted it to suit). Since doing this I've seen it a few times on other sites (don't you hate that!) ALL galleries have been working well. Today I decided to add a 1px border to the images in one gallery - I used a newly acquired version of CS4. PS is the only thing unique to this problem - I have updated from CS3 - but surely an image is an image is an image. When I uploaded the new versions of the images the images don't open. I have replaced them with origanals from D: to no avail? I have used colour space sRGB and Adobe 1998 - just in case? I have been in contact with my host and they say it's coding - but it's NOT! I have redone the page with a template from another working page. The rewtritten page displays well (of course) but the images still don't open. I have replaced the folder on the server in case the folder has problem (now I'm sounding like a jerk) Permissions are all correct. I've used WS Ftp Pro and FZ - the image folder on the server is black - the others are not! I wonder what this is about? Can anyone shed any light on this? I don't understand this at all. Hi Jquery Guros, I develop register form (in arabic). I added "validator.addMethod" to check the firstname text.I want to check that the "firstname" text must be in INGLISH leter and Numbers(means, user can't insert arabic leters or anything else). I added the script: ///////// chack firstname (English leter OR numbers <b> Code: $.validator.addMethod("firstname",function(value,element){ return this.optional(element) || /^[a-zA-Z0-9._-]{3,16}$/i.test(value); },"Username are 3-15 characters"); </b> You can check the script at: http://www.alnaddy.com/ldap/index1.php Can anybody help me guys? Thanks a lot. Sam. Hi there, I haven't coded in HTML for ages and now I'm just trying to put a little site together - but I've forgotten how to do one particular simple thing, and I can't find info anywhere! Basically, I want to have all my text spread out on one main page, and use those special links that you can do to certain parts of the page. I know that it involves something to do with hashes! So you have one hash tag at a certain part of the page, and you can click on a link to take you directly there. Sorry this is so basic!! Many thanks! I am struggling with a very basic problem. I cant get a link to work on my website. I have a index.html site with the main code which links to a page called faq.html. The relevant HTML code is as follows (i also include the stuff at the top of the html page in case its relevant). I also include the CSS script (on a separate file) which may or may not be relevant. Can anyone help? <html> <head> <title>THREE-COLUMN FIXED LAYOUT WITH FIXED BOXES</title> <Link rel=stylesheet href="styles.css" type="text/css"> <! I have looked around on Google and everywhere else and whatever is recommended looks like it will work, but doesn't play anything. (I try previewing it through FrontPage) Any ideas? I don't know much about tables. Can someone help me? 1 ) After a lot of trial and error trying to work out why one of my form buttons was slighty out of place to where it should be i traced it to the fact i didin't have this at the top of the html, HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> can anyone enlighten me here, all other elements seemed to be aligned up, but one button wasn't until i added this? 2) If you are linking to 2 different external css files, so HTML Code: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styleXXX.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="styleYYY.css" /> etc... and have say a same class in both but each class with different properties then what happens, for ex, you could have a body class in styleXXX.css as, HTML Code: body { background-color red; } and in styleYYY.css which also has a body class but different background color, such as, HTML Code: body { background-color green; } which one takes precedence ? Ok ive made a 100% custom html website and it looks pretty good for my first one but i just added new pages and ive added them with a code the this Code: <li><a href="MYLINKHEREMYLIKEHERE">Order</a></li> and i have it leading to the second page but when it takes me to the second page it has no background and it only shows the red font but if you highlight the page you can see everything else take a look! The home page looks fine its just the Prices and the Order page that dont work. http://www.rsessmines.tk Thanks for the help!! <html> <img src="http://salesmarketinginfo.googlepages.com/eye-world.jpg" width="695" height="120"> <hr> <bgcolour="white"> <br></br> <body> <form action="MAILTO:adamz14@hotmail.com" id="thisform" method="post" enctype="text/plain"> Name:<br> <input type="text" name="name"> <br> Mail:<br> <input type="text" name="mail"> <br> Comment:<br> <input type="text" name="comment"> <br><br> <input type="submit" value="Send"> <input type="reset" value="Reset"> </form> </body> </html> How do I change height of "comment" input ? my page has gaps where it shouldn't... at least in IE it does... it looks ok in Firefox... any suggestions?????? http://kalcotter.com/flourish/prostasense/ i came across this website: http://www.dhtmlx.com/ I downloaded some of their scripts. I am a network admin of a decent size company and just recently picked up the job title of web site support, of which I know almost nothing about. The only html experience I have had is doing ebay listings. Ok enough of that, heres my problem. On the main page of our company website we have a weird symbol showing up that doesnt appear to be in the code. What shows is: "Queen City Reprographics is a leading supplier of digital imaging services, supplies and equipment. Since 1908 we have been providing our clients innovative solutions for their imaging needs. Although founded as a blueprint company in 1908, we have evolved into a national supplier of state of the art imaging solutions. Now almost 100 years later, we are recognized as an industry leader with the highest level of commitment to our clients, employees, and vendors. Find out why we are "Not Just A Source, but a Resource". The symbol in question is the little square after the last word "resource" some of us see it as a blank square and others see it as a small square with a question mark in it. I have a very basic knowledge of this kind of stuff and I dont seem to see it in the code so could someone tell me what im doing wrong? You can go to www.qcrepro.com to see it for yourself. Here is the code as I see it. Thanks: <table width="840" border="0"> <tr> <td width="524" height="150"><div align="justify"><font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2">Queen City Reprographics is a leading supplier of digital imaging services, supplies and equipment.
