HTML - Linking Out Of Nested Frames
I am using nested frames on my default page which for the majority of needs works out fine, but I am trying to link to another page I wrote and I don;t know how to to set it so it takes over the entire page and not just in the lower right hand frame. How can I go about doing this?
Similar TutorialsHi Is it possible to link to a page that uses frames, and specify what document appears in each frame of the target page? thanks, alex hi all I have managed to get all my links working within the forms ok but one! that being the having navigation back to my Home page or Index page. It being made up of three forms. This is the linking code i have tried i have also tried others with no luck. Pleases help if you can. <a herf = "PAGE_1.HTML PAGE_2.HTML PAGE_3.HTML PAGE4.HTML" TARGET = "FRAME_1.HTML FRAME_2.HTML FRAME_3.HTML FRAME_4.HTML" > Home Page </a> I feel really stupid now, I can't figure out how to start a new thread. Please someone help me figure out what is wrong with my nested frames: <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <frameset rows="99%"> <frame src=""/> <frameset cols="20%,80%"> <frame src=""/> <frame src=""/> </frameset> </frameset> </html> They work individually but not collectively. Thanks in advance! you have 3 floating divs. "bottom" "top" and "middle". "top" is inside of "bottom" --> in this scenario, can "middle" div ever be above "bottom" div, but below "top" without being inside of "bottom" div? Code: <div id="bottom" style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:100px; width:200px; height:100px; z-index:1; background-color:#F00;"><h1>bottom</h1> <div id="top" style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:150px; width:200px; height:100px; z-index:3; background-color:#00F;"><h1>top</h1></div> </div> <div id="middle" style="position:absolute; top:150px; left:150px; width:200px; height:100px; z-index:2; background-color:#0F0;"><h1>middle</h1></div> I've heard many times "don't use frames, there is better ways to accomplish it", and I was wondering, is this just referring to "invisible" frames, or any frames? For example, look at Kingdom of Loathing. They use frames (or what appears to be frames) and I can't see how they could successfully make that site without. If I had to have all the screens scroll as one rather than separate, and couldn't resize when I needed to, it would be extremely annoying. So, frames are bad, or just the invisible ones? Below are two notepad docs. I want to add a link from one to the other. Whenever I add the <a href="..... "></a> nothing shows up when I view the webpage. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. Now however when my teacher tries to open my files, all she gets is that file that cant be found stuff. Do you think maybe the problem could be that my files are too complicated and that maybe i should put all my pages in one place and then all my other files in folders underneath those... please tell me your advice, with many thx Sam Hello everyone! The page I'm working on is http://www.cdi-imaging.com/OnSession...PriceGude.html Loaded in my iframe is /OnSessionProofs/Daylily/PriceGude/11ozWhite.html How would I *link* that to the White Ceramic text on the left? Same thing for the rest, i.e. Ringer mug= /11ozRinger.html I want the page to load the small HTMLs in the Iframe (the blue rectangle) when the appropriate text is clicked. Thanks, Casey Dwayne What HTML code do I need and how do I link a word from one part of a page to text on another part of the same page? Is there a way to select a jpg or html file and find out if it is linked to something and if so, what is it linked to? Hey guys, Ive been trying to google this but i just cant seem to find a tutorial, im hoping you guys can help me out. I want to link to a set of links on my website. More specifically, I have a horizontal navigation bar on my site and I want the link "required reads" to make a row of links appear under the navigation bar of the various readings when you click on it. I've seen this done before but I cant pull up an example at the moment, hopefully that makes sense... Please help! Thank you. When you have a forum on a website how do you have it open up in the same window rather than it opening up a new browser when you click on the link? Can't seem to find any info on this through Google, so I'm hoping you guys can help me out: What I want to do is have a link at the bottom of the main page which will load whatever html file that is currently in the iframe up by itself. So for example, if the photo page is loaded up in an iframe, you could click said link and it would load up the photo page HTML by itself. But if a video page was loaded up in the iframe, i could click the same link and it would load the video page HTML by itself. I have setup a basic pop up on a company test page that we are working with and the pop up only includes a link to open a new window with info. What I'm looking for is the html code for the link (image src) to close the pop up window when it's clicked on. I know that you can open a window off clicking the X or close button for the browser. I have yet to see code for an "a href" link to close the window. I would really appreciate any help on finding out how to pull this off. Thank so much. Mathew Shade Searcy Hi everyone, Could someone help with a hyperlink problem I have please? I am currently working on our company website and am constructing some pages detailing the Health and Safety training we do. I have created a page which contains a link to a second page with the course dates on. Is it possible to then link from the page with the course dates to the previous page but I want to link the the bottom of the previous page. Is there a way to do this? Many thanks! Jess Hey! Something odd is happening in IE7 with a page & I can't figure it out! (doesn't do it in Firefox). This page: http://webshack.com.au/cane/index.htm loads fine, but when I got to 'Our Facilties' (2nd in the menu), it has no background & other bits 'cause it doesn't link to the stylesheet. But, if you 'Resfresh' the page - it all comes good - until you move to a different page and then return to the 'Our Facilities' page'. So I'm a bit stumped - It obviously links, but I can't figure out why not initialy, only on 'Refresh', and then again every time you return! Oh yeah, it only started doing it when I begin fixing bits after running it the though the WC3 validator . . . . Grant I'll do my best to explain this. I have an iframe and its source changes a lot. I want to have a link that will take you to the source of the iframe, whatever it may be at the time. This has been kicking at me for some time and I thought it was time to ask for help, it's probably something simple that I'm just not getting. Thanks in advance! |
