HTML - Load Link Page Clicking Anywhere On Screen
Hey everyone,
I'm having trouble with this and I have no clue whatsoever how to solve it. My splash page has a css-centered background image which I would like to make it 'look' like a link, v.g. if you click anywhere on the page, the main page loads. I've seen this behavior in some lyrics pages, with a new page opening in a popup when you click anywhere in the screen, but what I need is to make the whole page behave like a giant "A HREF" tag, to load a new page in the same window. Is there anyone out there who can help me with this? Thanks in advance! Similar TutorialsHey, Don't really know exactly how to pose this question, so i'll try to explain it in several ways, and maybe one of you can help me. I'm trying to find code, HTML or Java, which would cause the browser to automatically start focused on a different part of the page other than the top (as it normally does when a new page loads). For example, lets say i have an image or text several scrolls down on a page. I want the browser to automatically load the page centered on this. Any ideas on how to do this? Any help would help so much.... i tried to search for it, but i didn't know exactly how to phrase it so i wasn't able to find anything. Thanks again. Using below script after clicking the button it will reload the page and starting the application I want people go to anchor link location after clicking the submit button, for example go to the bottom of the page because the program is in the bottom of the page how to do that guys please help Code: echo '<form action="" id="frm_chat" method="post"><fieldset id="fieldset_chat"><legend>Chat</legend><div>'; echo $err_msg; echo "<label>Nick: </label>".$txt_nick->getHtml()."<br />"; echo "<label>Server: </label>".$ddl_server->getHtml()." or ".$txt_server->getHtml()."<br />"; echo "<label>Channel: </label>".$ddl_channel->getHtml()." or ".$txt_channel->getHtml()."<br />"; echo ' <input type="submit" class="btn" name="btn_chat" value="Chat Now"/></div></fieldset></form>'; Next to the adress bar there's an X that will cancel the page load when you click it. Is there anyway to make this into an HTML link or button? I want it so that my users can cancel the page load by clicking a link on the site that says "cancel page load" Thanks for reading this thread! Hi: I have a link that I want to send out to my users on a Page, (this link is about 240 characters long: http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, etc, etc) I wish my page to automatically bring up the link on the User's screen. How do I do this please ?? (btw, now I just show a 'clickable' link on the page and the user must 'click' it to activate the link. But, I wish to automate this action please) Thanks ! -Mel Smith Hey guys, Just a quick and hopefully simple question. I'm trying to check the accuracy of my hits and visits system on my website, so I wanted to get a bot which clicks on a link from the same IP every few days, hours, minutes or seconds. Basically I want a bot that clicks on a link at every specified interval, just like a real person would click on a link. However, I obviously don't want the resulting window to come up, I just want the server to think I've clicked. Are there programs that already do this? Hello, I was wondering if there was away to remove a DIV that I have when a link is clicked? Also I have a drop down list and I would also like the div to go away when one of those are selected. Thank you so much in advance, I really appreciate it! hmm is there a way to do this so i have a text link <input type=button onClick="show()" value="hide"> when the user clicks on the button it calls some javascript which shows a div (not relevant!!). is there a way so that you click on the same button again it calls some different javascript e.g. hide() ?? I know about onFocus, onBlur etc but this is not what i need. hiiii alll........ I am creating 2 html pages. when i open first page i want to display a particular form. clicking on link in form 1 we will go to 2nd html page where a image link will appear. when we click on this image link i want to dispaly 1st html page with 2nd form. how to do this please give the html code for this..... I need an way to upload a file by clicking a link instead of button(<input type="file" name="somename"/>). This feature has been newly added to GMail, to attached a file we need to click a link. Any ideas or code of how this can be done are needed. Thanks Hello, I was able to get the "force repeated refresh" Meta code to work, which is awesome because that's what I needed , however, I am running into a snag. I tried using both JavaScript and just a typical <a href> link, but when you click on either one the Meta Refresh ceases to process. Code is below. I tried plugging the meta http-equiv line into the Body section at various places just for fun, but that doesn't fix the issue. To be honest, the easiest fix here would be to simply load the URL in question immediately when opening Index.html (it's local, stored on my HDD) instead of having a link. Is this possible? I have Googled to find the Html code required to immediately load a URL upon opening an Html file, but can't seem to locate such a command/code. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Refresh" content="1";url=https://mylogins.edc.cingular.net/assignedQueue.cfm?cAsnNext> <script type="text/javascript"> function open_win() { window.location.href = "https://mylogins.edc.cingular.net/assignedQueue.cfm?cAsnNext"; } </script> </head> <body> <a href="https://mylogins.edc.cingular.net/assignedQueue.cfm?cAsnNext" target="_top">https://mylogins.edc.cingular.net/assignedQueue.cfm?cAsnNext</a> <input type=button value="Open Window" onclick="open_win()" /> </body> </html> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hi, Im in the process of creating some tutorials to go on my website. Once i have my list i want to be able to have the links to open up a new browser window in teh most simplist way instead of the page loading in the same browser window. Also if its not that much harder i would like it to just be the tutorial which pops up and none of the browsers menu's, icons or address bar. Im not to worried about doing it this way if its juest as easy but if its more complicated then a simple open new window script will do fine. I've seen some ways of doing it with Java. is this the best way and does anyone know of a good guide or website instructing on how to do it? Thanks in advance First let me apologize if this post has been made and/or belongs in another area but I'm not too sure even sure how to ask this. My humble site is set up like such using HTML and CSS: As of right now I have it such that when a navigation link is clicked it loads a whole new page. How can I do this such that only the "main text" area (which sits inside a table) is loaded? I hope that makes sense! Hi All, I have a problem with centering a page to the screen on a new site. The page is 945px wide, and is fine in IE. But in both Firefox and Safari the page is moved to the left of the screen. Does anyone have an idea of what I have done wrong here? Here is a link to the page:- Website New poster here! Recently been creating a website using HTML & CSS from scratch using Notepad++. I was under the impression that the more flat, or spread out the design, browsers would squish it automatically to fit on the page. Apparently this is not the case. I current have a page where the main content starts 250 pixels from the left hand side of the screen, this causes some of the content disappear of the right hand side of on lower resolution screens. Should I be starting the content at the far left, or is there another web page design convention I should be following? I assume there is a way around this however I can't seem to find it! Any help would be greatly appreciated. These forums are a wealth of knowledge! Hello, This is an unusual one, but I have converted two Excel files into HTML files, and I also have a HTML page with some information on. I have a live of code which controls the auto refresh of each page. Is there any way that I can set this so that when the page refreshes, it loads a different page. The pages are part of a display screen that will show stats and info. I would like to set it so all three pages rotate/change every minute or so. Thanks in advance. hi guys, I have this code he Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1251" /> <title>Under construction</title> </head> <body style="background-color:#121212"> <div style="background: url(under_construction.jpg) no-repeat center top ; height: 1024px; margin: auto;"> </div> </body> </html> the image under_construction.jpg is basically the page itself, it has a size of 1680x1024.
