Similar TutorialsHi All - I'm new to the forums and also somewhat new to web development. I'm trying to scrape together a website for my wedding and have managed my way through most of it, however the RSVP form is killing me. I believe the page is working fine with FF3 - at least it does what I want it to do. In IE7 however, when the submit button is pressed IE appears to hang, and status bar reads "waiting for rsvp2.php". The page never appears, however the file creation on the back end does complete successfully, so it IS doing something. I have changed the form method to "get" and IE seems to proceed normally, but I don't want to use this as a permanent solution. The URL is below and any help would be greatly appreciated. If there isn't enough information please let me know! www.nikiandzack.com/rsvp.php Thanks, Zack Hi I was wondering if someone could help me out with a project I working on at my work. I have created a simple form web page that the sales people use to send a request to the help desk Everything works fine except my boss doesnt like the output of the email that gets generated to the helpdesk when someone clicks the send button. How can I change the format of the posted email?? I am interested in having a web format or some sort of word document attachment. this is what I have coded right now method="POST" enctype="text/plain"> A customer gave me a Word doc that they want turned into a printer friendly web page. I understand that there are tons of ways to do this but I really want the answer to the subject. What i'm referring to is a form that someone can print from the browser and "fill in the blanks" on the page where there are "underscores". My question is how to code those underscores. I tried manipulating the
tag but it's putting way too much space in between each
. I've already coded a "fill in the blank" line using nbsp; but that looks very messy. What do you guys/gals think? This may seem like a rather elementary question, but I'm doing a this for a school project and wanted some input on how this should be done. What I'm looking to do is to have a very simple text-input box on my page where the user would obviously type in some text, then a simple "post" button or something like that where when once clicked, the text typed by the user would just then appear above the box, possibly in a table? How simple/complicated is it to do this. I'm pretty familiar with html so once I get pointed in the right direction I should be fine. I don't want a blog or something where someone has to sign up with a user name or anything like that, just whoever visits the site can write text into the/a text input box and then it is shown after whatever text was typed by the user before them. Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated. Hey all, So my boss has asked me to consolidate a whole bunch of HTML pages into one jsp page, and I'm having some trouble with the links. Basically the plan is to link to the same page while setting the "location" variable on the server to something else, so the jsp page can check the location variable and make the page accordingly. However, I don't want to just append the the location variable to the url, because its kind of ugly, so I would prefer if there was a way for the links to send a location string using a POST method. I could then use a getParameter call on the server to get the location, and the jsp page could adjust accordingly. Is this possible? Or will I be stuck linking back to the same page but with "?location=index" added to the url? Thanks beforehand. Cheers, Lukas How can I restrict form submission to only the Submit button? I find the forms can be submitted also by the user pressing the "enter" or the "return" key (Users typically use IE or Firefox) By a mouseover the "Submit" button, a final check of data integrity is done as follows.... Data is 128 bit SSL encrypted function validate(strngSS,x,strngLN,y,strngFN,z,strngBD,w) { if (strngSS== "") {alert("You didn't enter a Social Security Number."); document.ReturnPatientEntry.x.focus(); return; } else { if ((strngSS.length < 9) || (strngSS.length > 9)) {alert("The Social Security Number is the wrong length. Just use numbers, no dashes... like 123456789 not " + strngSS); document.ReturnPatientEntry.x.focus(); return; } else { var illegalChars = /\W\#/; if (illegalChars.test(strngSS)) {alert( "The Social Security Number contains illegal characters. Just use letters, no dashes... " + strng); document.ReturnPatientEntry.x.focus(); return; } else { var illegalChars = /\W\#/; if (illegalChars.test(strng)) {alert( "The Last Name contains illegal characters. If the "Clear form" button is pressed, multiple consecutive error messages are tripped as the form is cleared. Can I suppress this as well? Well.. untill I tested with IE. It seems that on page 3. (The page with the 12 audio clips) When the user clicks to Submit the answers. IE fails to cooperate and proceed to the next page. Whereas Chrome and FF follow like normal.. IE does not. Is it something ive missed? Ive tested this in all IE versions 6 7 8 and 9. All fail at the same button. This scrip is picked up by checking the global $_POST variable for 'upload'. This works fine and my PHP script does the upload when I only select one file (using either one), but when both are filled in for some reason the global $_POST variable is empty, so my script will not run. Before looking down the PHP route I'm wondering if everything is ok with my form, or if there is some error that I am missing that is causing this problem? Any help is greatly appciated. Thanks. Is it possible to only give them the option to save the file? Sounds incredibly unlikely but I gotta know. http://www.jabproductsonline.com/test/default.html At this site I have a web form that has two steps. Each just gets information, but the second step doesn't ultimately post to the url it's supposed to go to. What's up with this? I have the same type of web form working elsewhere (orange.977mb.com) but this one doesn't seem to want to work. It's posting to a https site, but you can see the code just by going to the web form and checking it out. If you fill in the information, make it clear that it's testing stuff Thanks! |
