The iframe's source is links.htm (as the horizontal bar is a link bar) so that I can change my site's main links if I have to. Anyways, the problem is this, my link bar looks perfect in firefox but as soon as I view the site in explorer the text doesn't fit in the iframe and there are arrows as if you have to scroll down to view the text. Here is an image of what I mean: Let me know if I should add information. Sorry for reposting this; I accidentally put it in the wrong section. Hi all, this is my first post on this forum, and I hope you'll excuse my ignorance for the time being. I am by no means an expert of HTML, but my friend and I are attempting to get a few sites up and running, and we need some help. I can imagine this question has been asked dozens of times, but I'm hoping you can help. What we want for our site is a search function, where the user can input any word or series of words, and, our site being filled with links, get a list of links that have ever been on the site. We want to make sure the links pop up in the same template as our home page, as well. I understand I may need to use some PHP or JavaScript code to get this done, but I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this, for a web designing ignoramus. Also, we want to have subscribers, and have registered log-ins. Something where people can put in their user name, and then be able to leave comments. Please let me know what I can do. Thanks in advance! not sure how to integrate this code, I have tried a couple of different ways but I have failed and now I am here looking for help the current code on my site is which is only for looks Code: <tr> <td width="35%" align="right"> <img border="0" src="images/search.gif" width="94" height="13" /></td> <td width="37%" valign="bottom"> <input type="text" name="search" class="inpbox" size="16" /> </td> <td width="24%" valign="bottom"> <a href="#"> <img border="0" src="images/go.gif" width="27" height="16" /></a></td> </tr> </table> </td> and i want to add to make it function is Code: <form action="/cgi-sys/entropysearch.cgi" target=searchwindow> Search Query <input type="text" name="query" value=""> <input type="hidden" name="user" value="dm1817"> <input type="hidden" name="basehref" value="http://disneymagic.ca"> <input type="hidden" name="template" value="default"> <input type="submit" value="Search"> </form> Unfortunately my website has to work in an offline mode too so no online solution is possible. The javascript engine cchana linked is unfortunately very limited and pretty much useless. My main navigation bar has a "search" field which doesn't seem to work. I want this thing to search within my own website only. Never done it before, have no clue if it's some html I'm missing, or if I need a javascript for this function to work. I copied the html for it from another site, but I think there is some other stuff needed in order to make it work. http://www.vancouver4condos.com/test/ For example, this scenario: 1. My page contains the text "giraffes in corduroys" 2. somebody googles that text - either as a phrase or just the words 3. google points them to my page 4. the user clicks to go to my page... Is there any way to determine that it was the text "giraffes in corduroys" which brought them to my page? Would the crux be getting the previous URL in the browser history? Hi, I am wanting to impliment a feature where I can install a search box on my website that will search anothers content. Basically I have two sites, one has thousands of sound effects on it, the other is more of a portal site. On the portal site I want to add a search box that will link into the other sites database so that the user would navigate away from the portal site and be taken to the stabndard search results page of the main site based on thier queory. Is there any code that anyone knows of to do this? Thanks all! Hi...not sure if this is the proper place to post this or not. I'm trying to do two things...first: I'm trying to set up a search box in frame 1 that will search, scroll to and highlight text in frame 2. Is this possible? I've been searching around for days looking for answers, and have so far come up short. I managed to create a search box in frame 1 that reloads frame 2, but that's not really what I'm after. ---------------------------- Now for the second thing I'm looking to do (along the same lines): I want to click a link in frame 1 that scrolls to a target in frame 2 and highlights it. The target is a word in the middle of a paragraph. Any help would be appreciated. I'm pretty green, so treat me like a beginner. Thanks so much! Hi, I want to make a search box on my website. The thing is that I would like the search bar to be able to search on multiple search engines. For example I can type a movie in the search field and then I can select if I want to search for the movie either on google or on IMDb. I want it to look like this: http://subtext.no/kjartan/charlie/searchbox.png If anyone could help me get this kind of searchbox it would be great. Thanks in reaply. I'm trying to have my search box and search button aligned but I can't seem to get it working. Whenever I try to move one vertically, both of them end up moving and I'm all out of ideas. Here is the code: Code: <script src="http://supportforms.epnet.com/eit/scripts/ebscohostsearch.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <form action="" method="post" onsubmit="return ebscoHostSearchGo(this);"><input id="ebscohostwindow" name="ebscohostwindow" type="hidden" value="1" /> <input id="ebscohosturl" name="ebscohosturl" type="hidden" value="http://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&site=ehost-live&scope=site&type=1&custid=S6281220&groupid=Main&profid=EDS&mode=bool&cli0=FR&clv0=Y&cli1=RV&clv1=Y&cli2=PT82&clv2=(PT+Academic+Journal+or+PT+Periodical+or+PT+Trade+Publication)%7e(PT+Book+or+PT+Almanac+or+PT+ebook+or+PT+audiobook)%7e(PT+Newspaper+or+PT+NEWSP+or+PT+Newswire+or+PT+WIRES)&lang=en&authtype=guest" /> <input id="ebscohostsearchsrc" name="ebscohostsearchsrc" type="hidden" value="url" /> <input id="ebscohostsearchmode" name="ebscohostsearchmode" type="hidden" value="+" /> <input id="ebscohostkeywords" name="ebscohostkeywords" type="hidden" value="" /> <div style="background-image: url('http://i.imgur.com/Wjilo.jpg'); background-repeat: no-repeat; width: 900px; height: 600px; font-family: Verdana,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 9pt; color: #353535;"> <div style="padding-top: 249px; padding-left: 70px;"><span style="font-weight: bold;" ></span> <div> <input id="ebscohostsearchtext" name="ebscohostsearchtext" type="text" size="23" style="font-size: 16pt; padding-right: 340px; height: 50px;"> <button type="submit" style="border: 0; background: transparent;"><img src="http://i.imgur.com/nYPoa.png" width="145" hspace="25" alt="submit" /> </div> </div> </div> </form> I'm using IE8 to test Hi, I'm trying to add a google search box (in a table) to my web page, but for some reason it the input button links to the page I am currently on. The strange part is that I put the same exact code in another cell right next to the other google search box and that one works wonderfully while the first one still links to the current page. It is the same with any search engine (yahoo, bing, ask), the first search box links to the current page and the rest work great. Here is the code I use: Code: <form method="get" action="http://www.google.com/search"> <input style="width:140px" type="text" name="q" size="31" maxlength="255" value="" /><br /> <input type="submit" value="Google Search" /> </form> I've been working for a long while on this script, and I can't get it to work. I'm mostly doing it to learn, because I stink at HTML and pretty much any scripts.. What I'm basically trying to do is make a page with two screens on at once, like a split browser. Since I have practically no experience in HTML, I still haven't figured out how to make the top bar (address bar) stay no matter what site I am on. Help.. please? Address bar code below, may need some work Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>ItsJareds</title> <script language="javascript"> <!--// function findworld(form) { server = '<frame src="' + form.server.value + '">' document.write('<html>') document.write('<frameset cols=* rows=" frameborder=0 border=0>') document.write(server) document.write('</frameset>') document.write('</html>') } //--> </script> </head> <body bgcolor="748269"> <div style="position:fixed"> <form name="worldselector"> <TABLE WIDTH="100%"> <right> <TR> <TD valign="middle"><font color="3B5E2B" size="4"><strong>Address: </strong></font></TD> <TD valign="middle"> <input type="input" name="server" size="40"> <input type="button" value="Load Page" onclick="findworld(this.form)"> </TD> </TR> </right> </table> </form> </body> </html> Hello, I am making a template for a website and now with a lot of updates being done I was hoping to create a template thats based on a table structure with just the center portion to change depending on the link that was pressed to access that page. Can this be done with an HTML script? Basically it is like the forum page here where the top portion stays the same just the portion below changes. Hi guys, I am building a site for a new company and they need a page with a form on it that a user can fill out, that gets sent to the company, which they use to send back a quote. So obviously the form will require fields for the users name and other important details. As for the actual info needed to make the quote, there are three different types of quote (so maybe three different forms would work?) The forms are as follows: Marine Type of boat: Length: Height to antifoul line: Hull: Material: Antifoul re-application: (yes/no) Marina location: Automotive Make: Model: Year: Type of strip: Condition: Rust: Blast location: Home location: Swimming Pool Type of pool: locaton: Size (m squared): Depth: Shape: Tiled: (yes/no) Re-paint: (yes/no) Blast location: This excel file also shows the forms required: http://www.mediafire.com/?33oxx0zf6tac8ap I would greatly appreciate it if someone showed me how i can make these forms using HTML. Thanks Is there a way to make an image or image map link to 2 different places when clicked? Thanks in advance Hi, I made a div into a link by making the "a" tag into a block element. Now that I did that, I added text and images to the div, and now the link only works around the text, but fine over the image. How do I get the link to work over the entire div?
