HTML - Can I Stop Header Forcing A New Line
Hi,
When I put some text in a <h1> tag it automatically starts a new line after </h1>. Can I stop this from happening as I want text after it as part of the same sentence. Thanks Paul Similar TutorialsI am new to HTML coding I am trying to remove the line break, after my header and not sure how to do it. Here is my code: <h5 style="background-color:red;"><a href="java script:alert('Find & Click on your old Printer' + '\n' + 'Select '+ 'OPEN' + ' ...Do you want to open or save this file?' + '\n' + 'Select ' + 'RUN' + ' ...The Publisher could not be verified.')">Click Here for Directions on REMOVING your printer</a></h5> I would like to remove the blank line that the header creates. Thank you Hi, I want to create a header (<h1>,<h2>,...) like on the picture (see attachment) with html and css. It is possible to create sth like that without using pictures? Thanks I have a table with three cells in it, one cell at the top and one cell at the bottom with an image in i.e borders. I then put text in the middle cell, enough that it forces the cell to be greater than the height of my screen and then pushes the bottom cell off the bottom of the screen. How do i make the middle cell (with the text in) a fixed size and create a scroll bar for the text that is off the screen thus keeping the bottom border nice and tidy at the bottom of my screen? JPEG image, it is open in browser window. When you click a link to a ZIP file, it is downloaded. Is there a possibility to force a browser downloading e. g. a JPEG image? Hi, I'm been having some trouble viewing an embedded an SWF file. Nobody in the ActionScript/Flash community seems to have any answers so I thought I'd try here, since it's really an HTML issue anyway. I built an 800x1400 SWF in Flash CS5 and exported the file in an HTML wrapper, automatically generating the appropriate HTML code in an HTML file for upload to the server with the SWF. The problem is, my resolution is currently set to 800x600 and the HTML page won't scroll down so I can't see any of the content below the top 600 pixels of the SWF. Nobody seems to know how to force the page to add a scroll bar that will scroll down far enough for me to view the entire SWF. Any thoughts? Thanks for your help, ~Josh pls click on my website (only 80% finished) he http://www.welcometotherash.com the main body is a frame-based environment (except the index page u see first) but i want to force frames so it works properly. if you click on the 'road rash cd' link it brings up the frame page (force frames) but the wrong page is in there - if you use the sidebar and hit 'road rash cd' - thats the page that should be force framed what am i doing wrong? any advice would be gratefully appreciated, thx Hi All I am very new to HTML, and have employed the services of a junior designer to come up with a site for me. It can be seen at www.360ukproperty.co.uk, please excuse some of the pages are not completed yet. When clicking on the menu items, the relevant page loads in the faded out frame. This works on most computers, but for some reason it forces a new window to open up on my PC at home. It wirks fine on my designers's PC, my work PC and my laptop. This problem is on IE6, IE7 and Firefox. Very weird! The code for the homepage is pasted below: Hopefully its something simple.....~? <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>360 UK Properties</title> <link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> </head> <body> <div id="frame" align="center"> <div id="main"> <iframe style="padding-top:94px; float:left;" src="title.html" name="mainFrame" scrolling="no" id="mainFrame" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0" width="659" height="506"> </iframe> <div id="menu" align="left"> <p><a href="index.html">Home</a></p> <p><a href="why.html" target="mainFrame">Why 360?</a></p> <p><a href="how.html" target="mainFrame">How it Works</a></p> <p><a href="gallery.html" target="mainFrame">Gallery</a></p> <p><a href="faq.html" target="mainFrame">FAQ</a></p> <p><a href="price.html" target="mainFrame"> Prices</a></p> <p><a href="contact.html" target="mainFrame">Contact</a></p> <div id="bottom"> <p><a href="mailto:gustavbasch@yahoo.co.uk">info@360ukproperty.co.uk</a><br /> phone: +44 7875374689</p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> Hello I have an issue where I have two web pages generated from Java servlets in NetBeans 5.5. The first of these pages requires some user input and when the page's form is submitted, this input is sent to the server. The server processes the input to generate a text file which is used by a graphing tool to plot a graph as a 'png' file. This text file and graph are then displayed in the HTML generated for the second page using 'href's in a table. This works perfectly well but if the user wants to alter the graph, they have to go back to page one and change the options and resubmit the form. This is where the problem occurs; in Firefox all is well but in Internet Explorer and Opera, when they resubmit the form, page two displays the original graph rather than the changed one. A hard 'refresh' is required via F5 to force the displaying of the new text file and graph. I have tried various of the HTML: meta http-equiv=\"refresh\" content=\"0\"> alternatives and forcinf reload upon loading the second page but the graph and text file still show original data. Is there a way to force the browser to 'pick up' the new text and graph generated so that the page display is correct? I see this more as an HTML issue rather than a servlets one hence its inclusion in this forum. Thanks Martin O'Shea. Hey, im trying to find out why the header on my website isnt at the top of the page. it also moves sometimes even though the code appears to be all the same. the address is www.themonsterbox.com thanks in advance for any help. Any help will be invaluable! Thermos I have a page that has links that are embedded into SWF games and the like. Is there any way to stop the DOCUMENT from allowing navigation off of the current html page. What I want to do is not allow any navigation to any other page once I am on a certain html document. thanks greg I have this widget that a friend made for me. It allows the user to select the colors on the bracket bands on a picture of a mouth full of braces. If you grab a color and click on individual teeth - no problem. If you click on one of the buttons that colors all, top only, bottom only, odd only, even only, etc. When the button is clicked the page resets to the top. Play with it and you'll see what I mean. http://www.ellisorthodontics.com/brace-painter.php Any idea how I can make this not reset? The widget is html - it is on a php page. any help would be appreciated. I have done this before, but forgot exactly how I forced (and I mean FORCED) it to work in both IE and FireFox. I am creating borders. I clearly set the width and height of the divs that contain the border images. corners do not tile, vertical borders do not tile in the x dimension, and horizontal borders do not tile in the y dimension. Or they're not supposed to. To force IE to act right, I have to add overflow:hidden to the style. Everything works except for the horizontal borders, which tile one extra border. Like this: Anyway, would someone please examine this simple code and tell me why it isn't working? By the way... KE is our prefix, B is Border, V is Vertical, H is Horizontal, and C is corner, to help you figure out what the style names are. So, KEBC is a Border Corner which could be top-left, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-right. I MUST use background images for tiling purposes with the vertical and horizontal borders, so please, no lame answers to the effect: "just embed an <img> instead of using backgrounds..." THat doesn't solve the problem. ...In advance... HTML Code: <html> <head> <style> .KEBC { position:absolute; width:5px; height:5px; background:no-repeat; overflow:hidden; } .KEBVS { position:absolute; width:5px; background:no-repeatx; overflow:hidden; } .KEBHS { position:absolute; height:9px; width:5px; background:no-repeaty; overflow:hidden; } </style> </head> <body bgcolor="#000000"> <!-- Make a Framed Container DIV element --> <!--~FC--><div style="width: 200px; height: 100px; background:#333333; position:absolute;"> <!-- -- First, do the corners -- --> <!-- Top Left Corner (tlc.png) is 5x5 --> <!--~TLC--><div class="KEBC" style="left:0px; top:0px; background:url(tlc.png)"></div><!--TLC~--> <!-- Top Right Corner (trc.png) is 5x5 --> <!--~TRC--><div class="KEBC" style="left:195px; top:0px; background:url(trc.png)"></div><!--BRC~--> <!-- Bottom Left Corner (blc.png) is 5x5 --> <!--~BLC--><div class="KEBC" style="left:0px; top:95px; background:url(blc.png)"></div><!--BLC~--> <!-- Bottom Right Corner (brc.png) is 5x5 --> <!--~BRC--><div class="KEBC" style="left:195px; top:95px; background:url(brc.png)"></div><!--BRC~--> <!-- -- Next, do the top, sides, and bottom. I am a design, not a coder by any means. But I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this. http://www.knoed.com/index.php The gray div box and the main nav at the top of the page stay aligned with the right side of the page even when you resize the window. But when the box or nav reach an area like the logo when resizing, it stops and the window covers over the box. Try it and you will see what I mean. Does anyone know how to achieve this? Right now I have my boxes attached to the right side but they just go underneath my elements when they resize the window. Thank you. Hey, I'm buidling a series of webpages and I still don't know what the code is to stop right clicking. Even better, I'd like the person to be redirected to a particular page . Any clues on how to do this? |
