On each page there is a menu on the left side that has all the links. I am looking for a way that I could update all of these links by updating just one file. The left side code is essentially: Code:

----

----

I was thinking javascript could do this, but I don't have enough know-how to do this. ive currently built an html website with a flash menu and would like to use it with iframes so that the menu doesn't have to refresh with page.. unfortunatelly this is my first time working with iframes and i am not sure what code to put into my flash buttons to call the page into the frame. Some of the content is large and needs to be scrolled. I would like the site to appear frameless, so the menu scrolls along with the content (so if you scrolled all the way down, you wouldn't see the menu). I initially tried putting it all into another frame, but didn't have much luck with that. I'm open to any suggestions. Let me know if I need to clarify anything. Thanks. HELP!!!! Much appreciative ...Cory Here is the link... http://209.40.102.3/cory/PSBrokerage.asp Hello, this is my first message here and I hope it will be for all you experts a serious one. This is my page I am developing right now: http://www.travelevros.gr/main.htm The page has one IFrame that loads its subpage of the flash menu. Please dont tell me to get rid of it, I need that IFrame. The flash menu it is placed outside of that IFrame of course, its container is the main page main.htm. In IE, everything works ok and the menu (as transparent) drops down nicely and the user can click the submenus alright, even if they are above the IFrame area. But with Firefox Mozilla, even though the menu drops down nicely too, the user cannot click the submenus, not even the links inside the IFrame page (that covered from the swf rectangular region). So there is a confusion in the Mozilla browser, where to send the click events: to the flash menu or the html page located in the IFrame. What should I do to make this work with Firefox Mozilla? I've tried some solutions i've found in Google, like entering the "z-index" property, placing the flash menu and/or IFrame inside a DIV layer, but I couldnt make it to work. The submenus still cannot be clicked when they drop over the IFrame content. As I said, in IE works fine. I've found somewhere else that the tip for this problem is to place the menu in a DIV and make that DIV load AFTER the IFrame is displayed, at the end of the page, thing that I dont have the knowledge to do. If this is right solution, can somebody help me doing this? On the other hand, if there is some other solution then I am ready to listen. Thank you very much for your time. p/s Check the first menu on the left, it works in Mozilla too, but thats because this region its outside the IFrame. The other menu choices falls down to the IFrame region, so the problem is with the layer placement. Hi there, Not sure if this is HTML or CSS - I've got a
menu that I've set up and it's changing nicely in colour when you mouseover (using a:hover etc.) I've seen a few menus though where if you click on home, it loads home and that option stays a different colour to show you what page you're currently on.. any ideas? Hi all, I created a very simple Spry menubar using dreamweaver. It copied all the necessary CSS and JS into a folder for me. I have one question. whenever i selected (clicked) on an item(link) on the submenu. the submenu stays open while the page load in the frame. Is there a way to configure it so when i click on an item in the submenu, the submenu will close and the page will still load in the frame? Im making a nav menu for my Wordpress page. I made it with PNG sprite and with some jquery hover effects. I deliberately made the menu with PNG sprites, because the menu is static, no new categories will be added to it so I figured I'll do it with png. What I want to do is to make the menu item stay in the hover state after the click - that way the user can see on what part of the website he currently is. Code:

Code: #navigation li a { background-image:url(menu-a.png); display:block; } .aa { background-position: 0px 0; height: 38px; width: 108px; margin-left: 16px; } .bb { background-position: -108px 0; height: 38px; width: 110px; } .cc { background-position: -218px 0; height: 38px; width: 116px; } .dd { background-position: -334px 0; height: 38px; width: 158px;} .ee { background-position: -492px 0; height: 38px; width: 104px; } .ff { background-position: -595px 0; height: 38px; width: 141px;} .gg { background-position: -736px 0; height: 38px; width: 78px; } #navigation a .hover { background:url(menu-a.png) no-repeat; display: block; opacity: 0; position: relative; top: 0px; left: 0; height: 100%; width: 100%; } #navigation a.aa .hover { background-position:0px -38px; width:108px; height:38px; } #navigation a.bb .hover { background-position:-108px -38px; width:110px; height:38px; } #navigation a.cc .hover { background-position:-218px -38px; width:116px; height:38px; } #navigation a.dd .hover { background-position:-334px -38px; width:158px; height:38px; } #navigation a.ee .hover { background-position:-492px -38px; width:104px; height:38px; } #navigation a.ff .hover { background-position:-595px -38px; width:141px; height:38px; } #navigation a.gg .hover { background-position:-736px -38px; width:78px; height:38px; } This is as far as I've got. The menu works, hovers correctly etc. But how do I make the hover effect for "aa" stay active when the visitor lands on test1.html page, "bb" for test2.html etc.? Thanks! Is there a way I can load a page (with a text informing that 'you need flash player to view this web') if he doesnt have it installed in his browser? How would I do this? Your help is greatly appreciated. if i have a flash site and a non-flash site at the same domain, how does a mac visitor get directed to the correct (non-flash) site? thanks for the newb help! berbes Hello, I'm new to this forum, so first, hello! Actually, I'm new to web design in general but have taken on the role at the church I work at because our old site was a mess. I downloaded some nice looking templates and have been using them as a foundation. The site is www.miamibc.com. If you go there and look at the header menu (home, about us, etc), I want to consolidate that menu some and add a drop down menu with more choices. Is there a way I can do this while keeping it looking the way it does now? If you need any more info from me, let me know. Thanks for your help! Ben Can some one help me with or direct me to some HTML code that I can use to do one of the following. A. After a visitor of my website clicks on some text, a box appears below the text that will play an embedded Youtube video (on autoplay). B. After a visitor of my website clicks on some text, an video that wasn't on autoplay previously begins to play. Note that I want the user to click on some text, not flash. Thank you. IE7 sometimes displays messages in the yellow bar at the top of a page regarding active content running on the page. This happens when you have JavaScript running in the page. Also with Flash it's now required to click the Flash control to enable it. Some sites however, like Nokia.com for example have Flash embedded but IE7 doesn't ask me to click the thing to enable it. How do they do this? Is it also possible to tell IE7 that my JavaScript is not malicious and have it not display the message to people that will visit my site with IE7? |
