HTML - Search Engine Spider
Hi, I have two test versions of my site:
1: http://www.monkeygambling.com/new%20...indexnew.shtml 2: http://www.monkeygambling.com/new%20...0working.shtml However the search engine spider simulation doesn't see any text on (2) http://www.webconfs.com/search-engin...-simulator.php Can anyone see why? thanks Similar TutorialsFor example, this scenario: 1. My page contains the text "giraffes in corduroys" 2. somebody googles that text - either as a phrase or just the words 3. google points them to my page 4. the user clicks to go to my page... Is there any way to determine that it was the text "giraffes in corduroys" which brought them to my page? Would the crux be getting the previous URL in the browser history? I like to use drop down menus and other forms of navigation. I have heard that BOTs from search engines can't navigate through them. My question is if I were to keep these drop down menus but want to create a way for serch engines to navigate through my page is there a way to do it. I am reasonable sure an addition of text based links will solve this problem, but being that I want to keep my drop down menu it will be overkill for visitors to my website. Is there a way where I can make text links available for search bots but invisible for visitors? Is it possible to have links show up under your URL when your site is searched in a url? I've attached an example of what I'd like. Thanks! how do i make my own search engine? i dont even know if you use html, but i need help... also on the cgi script part, thats all i know that you need is the cgi script... but i still think it could be in here..... Hey guys, First of all im new to this forum so please let me know if i posted this in the wrong section. Im trying to find out what kind of coding a need for a auto search engine. I want to make something like this http://roboswag.com/search/ It would be used to auto search for swagbucks.com(if you dont know this site, you earn points by searching, and you can get giftcards and stuff) so please let me know if you have any ideas on how to do this Hey all, New to the forum here, looks like a great place! Anyhow, need some help / direction. I've been given the task to create an intranet search engine at work, but the level of coding is a bit over my head, so any help would be much appreciated. Long story short - I need to make a search with drop downs and I can't figure out how to make all three drop downs dictate what is searched for. Take a look at the two drop down set up KBB has for an idea of what I mean: http://www.kbb.com/kbb/NewCars/defau...=41&ModelId=23. I'm pretty sure this can all be done in HTML, but if I'm wrong tell me. Can anyone help on this or atleast point me in the right direction? Thanks a bunch! Steph Any hints on how to implement a search engine for my site? It could be a ready engine or something. The more easier it is to program the better. I can barely code HTML now. hi all, I read somewhere that in order to help the search engine robots/spiders find my web pages I need to put in some code. I have looked around, but cannot see it anywhere (typical). anyone help me here please and tell me what lines of html I need to add to my page/s? also, is it really worthwhile using or paying someone for seo? I dont like to part with money at the best of times, but I cannot actually believe that this is a worthwhile investment- aren't all search engines different, in thast they use different 'collection' methods? I was thinking of using ppc (Google perhaps?) do this sound a better way to get noticed on the web (providing that I choose my keywords properly, of course)? many thanks Ed could someone tell me different techniques for proper SEO besides meta words and whatnot. Thanks, Tham. Hello all, I am looking to place a search engine within the my home page so as that visitors can search the sites content. the problem is that my website is a sub domain (from a free DNS provider)and having trawled the web I can only find HTML source code to search top level domains (for eg Googles Custom Search Engine....). I have tried Googles CSE on another site (*.co.uk) that I run and it works perfectly, but not with a subdomain. Daniel i'm only new to website building, so i thought i'd start with a free template and have a play around and see how things work. i've got most of it happening, but i can't find any kind of script for an in-site search engine. there's the 'search' tab, but when you enter a word nothing happens. i've googled search engines and they all want you to pay by the month for it. is there anywhere i can get one for free? i only want a really basic one for about 6 web pages. I've been stressing over this for a while now and hope someone can point me in the right direction... I'm not looking for a freebie, just some guiding light. I'm making a homepage for myself, and to avoid visiting a thousand search engine sites individually I'd like to make my own drop down menu to search from. I have it set up with a text box, drop down menu and a submit button... I'd like to be able to enter my text, select the search engine I'd like to use and then click submit and have a new window open with the search engine site and the search results (pretty much cut out the search engine main pages)... Has anyone done this? Any info will be greatly appreciated... Thanks! Jim. Another idea that I've had is to be able to select multiple search engine and have multiple windows open up... Save some time... Anyhow, Thanks so much... Hi guys, Just wondering, I'm working on a new site and have been asked to put in a search bar, so people can search through the site. I've never done this before so I'm baffled! I suggested the google search bar but the owner would prefer just a standard blank one. How would I go about doing this? Thanks PS Sorry if this is in the wrong category but I'm not quite sure where it should go! |
