HTML - Vertical-align Problem
Hey!
I have a small problem and to be honest, I don't believe there is a solution to it. I have made a table with a certain height. Now I want to put an image into this table first, aligned at the top, then I want to have a piece op text under this picture, but aligned at the very bottom of the table. It might look something like this: HTML Code: <table width="300" height="300" border="1"> <tr> <td> <img src="Foto.jpg" width="40" height="40"> <br> Text </td> </tr> </table> But I really want the text not 1 line below the image, but aligned seperately at the bottom. By the way, the position of the text has to be independant from the height of the table. I have tries everything, from css and style to span and div, but nothing worked. Maybe this is because, i think, vertical-align is not yet recognised officially. Hopefully someone can come up with a solution! Thank you, Laurens, Similar TutorialsHi, I have problem with XHTML CSS vertical align middle. It works with Firefox but not with IE6. Many people has IE6 still so I need to get it to work. I'm doing a site exclusively in HTML. It looks pretty good for my first attempt, but I can't find data ANYWHERE online to vertically align images. The site is frames, the top frame just displays an image, I need the image to self-center to accommodate other screen resolutions. Perhaps I need to align the text(that isn't there), and then align the image to it? Thanks in advance, Tom i'm having no luck vertically aligning the text in the MIDDLE within the <td>. Notice how it is aligned TOP in the rollover state. Because it doesn't on my website... maybe something is wrong... check this url http://aishazeijpveld.com/s/Onbepalen/02 (the image) thanks Hello all. My problem is that I cannot vertical align a link directly after a textfield. Safari shows below example just fine, every other browser has "Text" a little lower than "Label:". I have tried many approaches but none have worked. Maybe someone here has the solution. I'd appreciate it a lot. HTML Code: <table border="1" > <tr> <td align="right" >Label:</td> <td align="left" > <input name="textfield" type="text" /> <a href="" >Text</a> </td> </tr> </table> Thanks, sdii Can someone please tell me how to center an iframe vertically on a page. I am feeling really stupid right now that I can't get it. I've tried a few different things and it's not budging!!!! Please help - thanks! I just need my image I floated left in the first paragraph and right in my last paragraph to align at the top of the paragraph with my text. My vertical-align isn't working because it is block style (my guess). Here is my code: <style type= "text/css"> body {background-image:url('images/BG.gif');} h1 { font-size:26pt; font-family: 'Arial'; text-align:center; color:#ff00ff; } p { font-size:12pt; font-family: 'Arial'; text-align:justify; color:#000000; margin-right:20px; } strong {color:#0000ff;} /* ID's for Images */ #ITT { Height:150px; Width:800px; } #Morning { float:left; margin-right:20px; margin-bottom:20px; vertical-align:text-top;} #Erie { float:right; margin-top:20px; margin-left:20px; vertical-align:text-top; } </style> <img id = "ITT" src = "images/ITTLogo1.jpg" alt = "Logo" /> <h1>asdfkljsadl;f</h1> <p> <img id = "Morning" src = "images/MorningDew.jpg" alt="Morning Dew"/> Paragraph 1 </p> <p> Paragraph 2 </p> <p> <img id = "Erie" src = "images/ErieIsland1.jpg" alt="Erie Island"/> Paragraph 3 </p> </body> </html> Thanks in advance! Hi All As the thread title suggests, I'm trying to vertical-align the text in a submit button - see attached. The html and css I'm using is below. I've tried wrapping spans around the value and altering the padding (which looks better but makes the onclick outline appear half-way up the button). Help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Steve The html is Code: print("<input class='mybtn' SIZE='5' type='submit' name='storedatabase' value='Store Database'>"); The CSS is Code: .mybtn { width: 120px; height: 21px; border-style: outset; border-color: red; font-size: 12px; color: #000000; background-color: rgb(250, 240, 230); border: 1px 1px 1px 1px; outline: 10px; text-align: center; } I am hoping that someone may have a solution for me - in one of my table columns I have 3 images (logos that link to sites) and I have set them with a vertical top alignment - so that when the page goes long - the logos stay at the top - this works perfectly in all browsers, except (of course) IE... would anyone know how to fix this? My site can be viewed at http://bebywebtest.9k.com/history.html ... if you click open the collapsible menus - you can see the logos - start to center themselves down the page - instead of staying at the top... <br /> </td> <td width="5" rowspan="3"> </td> <td width="380" height="179" bordercolor="#000066" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><div align="center"><a href="http://www.israelbonds.ca"><img src="Images/header-march-2006.gif" alt="bonds" name="israelbonds" width="256" height="100" border="0" valign="top" id="israelbonds" /></a></div></td> </tr> SO - if anyone has any suggestions on how to remedy this fiasco - I would be most grateful! Thanks. Hi all, Newbie here. So I've built an HTML website and I want to vertically centralise it because it looks a little funny on larger screens at the moment. I have followed several tutorials worth of direction on how to do it and tables seem to be the easiest but I'm having a problem with getting the table to "fit to window". This is the table instantiation: <table align="center" width="100%" height="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> The problem is that the height is not working. If I change it to a specific value such as 900px then it works perfectly but it must be getting the wrong value otherwise. Has anyone encountered this before and can you help? The site is http://www.thechapelstudios.co.uk Ok, I have this short code: <html> <head> <style type="text/css"> table { margin: auto; top-margin: 0px} .bg {color: white; font-size: small} .maintab{position: absolute; top: 0px} </style> </head> <body background="background.png" text=#e06b10> <table bgcolor="black" border="0" width="700px" height="1000px" class="maintab"> <tr><td> <span class="bg">Background Image <br> </span> </table> </body> </html> OK, the words "Background image" are vertically centered in on the table, and I cant figure out why. I probably cant figure this out just because I'm exausted : ) THANKS Hello, I'm trying to program a couple unordered lists into my web page and I encountering a problem. I can't seem to align them with the top of the cell. They act as if there's an extra list item above the first one. Here's the URL to the page: http://www.cactusridgerr.com/CCRR/comfort.htm Here's the code for the bottom two cells with the lists in them: Code: <tr> <td style="vertical-align: top; padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"> <ul type="disc" style="margin: 1em;"> <li>Elegant dining room</li> <li>Fireside lounge</li> <li>Library and computer room</li> <li>Craft room & country kitchen</li> </ul> </td> <td style="vertical-align: top; padding-left: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"> <ul type="disc" style="margin: 1em;"> <li>Wellness and exercise spa</li> <li>Beauty salon</li> <li>Theater and multi-purpose room</li> </ul> </td> </tr> Does anyone know why they refuse to be aligned with the top of the cells? Something in this page is causing a vertical white line on the right hand side of the main table. Can anyone help me figure this out? www.massagelaunch.com Thanks. Ok, i have a table and there two images in two different frames next to each other. Sence one is taller than the other, the smaller one is centered in the middle of the <td> I want to have the tops of the images aligned, do you know how to do that? i got problem in td align here is the story i making a web page with PAGING in the 1st PAGING right on the position(align right) but when i open the 2ndPAGING the PAGING get left can someone tell me what happened when i view my web source on 2nd PAGING it's clear that the align is right Hi there, After HOURS of battling with what I thought should be so simple I have given up and registered for help! The very basic form of my problem is I want a table with 3 cells, The first two cells (one black, one blue) I want to be left aligned and simply as wide as the cell contents. I then want the 3rd cell to be right aligned, and fill up the rest of the row before reaching the text. So the 3rd cell spans from the 2nd cell all the way to the right of the table. I have uploaded 2 images. One is the rough design that I'm trying to achieve, the other shows my results. what I want: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/705/hopez.png/ (the 'music videos' would be in a separate cell as the background will be blue as you can see in my tests below) actual: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/830/problemue.png/ It either ends up as above or with hours of fiddling I did somehow have it over at the right, but only behind the text was black, there was just open space between the blue cell and the right aligned cell. So frustrated, better go to bed, haha. How come this code: <img src="tick.gif" alt="+" width="15" height="15" />This is a test, etc. ...puts the image on one line, with the text "This is a test, etc." beneath it? I want the text to be on the same line as the image. (Prob. occurs with IE and FF.) Any ideas? Cheers, James Not a major programmer but I needed to make a website. I am having a problem with my website where I have 5 pages, same structure, built with tables, all tables centered. In IE the tables align center on each page. But in Firefox --- 3 of the pages are different, lining up about 10 pixels left of center. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem? I have browsed around other sites as well and many of them have this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know tables are horrible but thats all I know/can learn. |
