HTML - Setting Up A Vcard Download?

I've seen these sites all over the place used generally for adult sites but I was wondering if there's a script out there for it. I want a pay per download site but not for adult content, for video and indie films.

I have placed some mp3 files into a folder in my httpdocs.
Then I emailed the link to a file.

When I select the emailed link, the mp3 plays. But I'd like to download the file, but I don't see where/how.

When I right click the link, my only choices a
Select All
Look Up...
Translate...

The greyed-out (unavailable) choices a
Cut
Copy
Paste
Clear

Shouldn't it be when I right click the link the choices should be
Save
Save As

I'm using IE, and the same is true when i put the url in the browser of when I Alt-F. Save is still greyed out.

How can I do this correctly so it's easy to download the file?

My Site is hosted on linux site and i have basic cgi scripts for page counters, but does anyone know how i can create a download counter for files which can be made visible to users. I want the content to be updates live on the site ( basic count per click )

Lets assume i have a link to an image on a page, is it possible to make a code or script or something so when i click on the link to that image, it downloads it not open it in the browser???????

can someone tell me how to write a link to force the download option to appear in the browser when my link to an XML page is clicked, not just open it as a page in the browser.

I have set up some document downloads with <a href>NameofDocument</a> , but everytime a user downloads a document a blank browser window opens and then comes the pop up to either save or open in Office.
Any ideas on how to keep this blank browser window from opening or being created.

I hav a download website and im trying to create a coundown before the download botton appears just like (rapidshare and other file sharing websites) but i didnt found a solution i thought about a flash animation but i think its easier to index in html.

I would like to allow people to download a file from my site by clicking a button. I can display the button and direct it to the file but I don't know how to start the download process. I won't have multiple files, just 1 file. I was looking for a command but came up empty.

how do i put up a file for download on a homepage?

I have saved files in a folder. Everyday I am saving file with same name but daily dates included in the name.

I want to just send the link of the file everyday that I don't have to change the name of the link provided to the user but with the different name behind the link.

When user click the link it should give user option to "open and save" dialogue box.
For this purpose I have tried some option. A window opened behind dialogue box and after complete download it is not closing itself.

So I have required following:
1. User to give option with open and save dialogue box.
2. The browser window should close itself after download file complete or it should open, just give open and save option.

Hope everyone will understand.

I run a website for my pub/club and I want to add a button to a page that will allow visitors to download an application form for our new competition. I edit pages etc in frontpage 2003

I want them to be able to download it from the site and print it out to return.

Any advise on how to do this?
