HTML - Pull Down Menu Which Links

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone could help me?

I wish to produce a website which works in the following way:

The header and footer remain the same, and do not reload on page refresh. Then, links on a menu bar stimulate loading a new page, however only the content below the header changes.

An example of this, is the CushyCMS website (http://www.cushycms.com). When you click the menu links, the header doesn't reload, only the page content does.

How would I do this?

My reason for wanting this method, is because I wish to have an image slider present within the header of all of my pages, and I don't wish to have to update every page each time I wish to add an image.

Please help?

Hi,

Is there any way to make the "standard" pull down menu that is predefined in html (the pull down form that front page provides) function with links to different pages WITHOUT USING JAVASCRIPT. I am using sharepoint that has security that blocks links that use scripting. Or, is there any way to use this pull down menu with javascript in sharepoint without a popup blocker interviening?

I'm having a bit of trouble pulling information from a text box. What I would like to do is this:

1) User enters a number in a text box
2) User clicks a submit button (or link, whatever works)
3) The data from the text box is inserted into a pre-defined link

For example, the link could be http://mysite.com/view[project], where [project] is the data from the text box. If I entered '12345' in the text box, and then clicked submit, I would like a new page to open up to the site http://mysite.com/view12345.

Hopefully that made sense... Is this even possible? Do you know of a better way to get the desired result?

Hey, I was wondering if there's any way (without Javascript, I wouldn't mind PHP though) to draw a value (say a persons name) from one HTML page, to a new window with, say, a comment box, and the person they are commenting about is already typed out for them, or stored hidden somewhere. Each different page would link to the same comment box, but the name value would be different depending on WHO they want to comment on.

I run a website for a local football team. On the website I have a section for statistics, ie appearances goals etc and a player profile page. What I would like to do is to pull the stats to the player profile page. So when you access a profile you can see how many appearances and goals that particular play has.

I have the player stats saved in an excel spreadsheet which I just update and save as a webpage each week.

Example player profile:

I have a simple form he

I would like to preload and disable the 'Mobile No. ' field based on the pulldown selection of field 'Preset'

for example : if the pulldown select was set to 'Elijah Wood', then the 'Mobile No.' field would display 63917345345 and would be disabled stopping any editing.

The only time the 'Mobile No.' field would function like a nornal field, is when the the 'enter cell number' option is selected.

Hi everyone, I hope I have posted this in the right area. This is my first time posting here. I currently have my main pages listed at the top of my site as graphics (see fussybaby.ca). I would like to potentially remove these graphics and use text links instead - I had the graphics designed for me, so I can't just go in and make new ones, however I'd like to change/rearrange the links and add some new ones.

So my question is: How hard is this to do? Is this something I need to hire someone to do for me?

I'm new to this forum, so first, hello! Actually, I'm new to web design in general but have taken on the role at the church I work at because our old site was a mess. I downloaded some nice looking templates and have been using them as a foundation. The site is www.miamibc.com. If you go there and look at the header menu (home, about us, etc), I want to consolidate that menu some and add a drop down menu with more choices. Is there a way I can do this while keeping it looking the way it does now? If you need any more info from me, let me know. Thanks for your help!

I am building a Website for my Web Design class in school. I am using Dreamweaver CS4 at home. What the problem is that I have linked my Myspace, my Youtube, and my Twitter on the site I am making. When I test out the links on the web what happens is that it uses the Web address I am at and the Web address I clicked and adds it together. For Example,

Lets say I have linked my myspace on my youtube. It would look like this,


www.youtube.com/www.myspace.com. Why does it do this.

I was wondering how to do 2 link's in 1,

Like where you can click a link, and a little slide bar will popout and show a preview of a page, but if you open it in a new tab. it will actually go to that page instead of opening a preview of the page.

Basically 2 different link's,

Does anyone know how to do this?

(an example of this is on facebook, on the right side of the page where your "online friends" are. if you click there name, an instant message box pops up at the bottom, but if you right click there name and open in a new tab it goes to there profile instead of opening the Istant message box.

This is a line of code in my XSL file. It is supposed to generate a link and the link text is the same as the URL.

It generates this error:

If I remove the "a href" code, my XML file is displayed well, so it must have something to do with the link code. I suspect it has something to do with nested quotes?

does anyone know how to have a link within XSL files?

I tried to use <link>, but it doesn't work.

here is a sample of my tempalte. I want to be able to have "you have already registered" to be clickable to a link. Is this possible?

I've even tried html a href, but no luck.

The problem with having only a nominal knowledge is that everything you want to do ends up taking hours because you can't figure out what it's called so you don't know how to search for it!

I'm trying to have a left sidebar where when you hover over it, a new menu of links appears. Here are a few examples of what I'm looking for:

Amazon. When you hover over the books or other links to the right, it gives you more options: http://www.amazon.com/

PBS. If you hover over Episodes it gives you more options. I want a left justified thing, but it's the same idea, I think: http://www.pbs.org/wnet/nature/episo...oduction/3153/

Or even something as simple as this. Hover over "Club Events." http://www.springfieldkennelclub.org/
