how do I display html code as text?
The page is an html document, I want users to be able to highlight and copy a piece of html code. I have tried putting it in a text box in a form, but I can't seem to do it without the code being read as REAL html. I have never been happy with the layout and feel I could make it better by instead of having to parse each command into html to use text files. I have put some example code on pastebin and hoped someone could help me in getting the basics working, I know little about iframes and java. I would really love to have the items on the left to be clicked on so they expand and allow me to choose a more granular menu system that allows the items clicked to open in the right hand iframe, a bit like the IBM / HP ilo screens. I'm looking for a way to program the site so that the blog-frame only displays a certain number of words / characters despite the amount of characters in the blog post, before it then interevenes with a "READ MORE" link which will then take the user to the full blog post. I have a website where I want to make a drop down menu that will bring you to different pages. It is a very basic, sort of old-fashioned website that relies entirely on html. What I'm trying to do is make a drop-down menu that will be used as navigation for a section of a website and I want to have it in each internally linked page in that section, but I'm going to be adding more pages to it over time so I want to be able to put the drop-down menu code in a separate text file and then substitute it into the pages that I make that the options in the menu link to and then just edit the code in the text file when I add another page so that I don't have to go back and edit the code every single individual page whenever I add a new one among them. In the areas where it says, for example ="show('Goodnight')", how do I add HTML code in the brackets but as normal text? At the moment it is trying to read it as HTML code but I want it to be displayed as text. How would I accomplish this. It works like I want it to do in Firefox, looks ugly in Konqueror and not displayed in Internet Explorer 6. Where's the problem? Thanks in advance! Hi everyone, I've been searching around the web trying to find out how I can send using Outlook a html and text email newsletter automatically. I am quite happy creating html only newsletters, and text ones for that matter, but I have been digging and believe that by using multi-part code I can send to both and the recipients email client "allows" whichever version to be displayed - does this sound right? I'm hoping to simply create the html with the relevent mime references and boundaries (dont know what they are but have seen them on enough Google'd pages to know that they mean something!) and then copy and paste into Outlook - the newsletter is only going out to a few people at a time.
