HTML - Formatting Of Text Froma A Dynamic Table In Dreamweaver
I am trying to slowly put together a very simple content management site for a footy club i run,
the data is stored in a mysql database and lined to the web page using a dynamic table from within dreamweaver, it displays all the info except one thing it appears in one huge paragraph, take a look at my page Link is at: http://itdesignz.co.uk/Clients/RTFC/cms/home.php The Data in the mysql has the spaces and enters breaks in it, but these are not reflected in my page. I am really new to dreamweaver and am not sure how to overcome this problem, Please help Andy Similar TutorialsHi everyone. A friend of mine designed his website in Dreamweaver. He wanted to change a lot of things about his website, but could not do it himself. For the past few weeks, he'd tell me what he wanted to change, and I changed it (via HTML, not Dreamweaver). He recently mentioned that he can no longer edit the files from Dreamweaver the way he used to. When he tries to add line breaks, all he gets are indentations. When he tries to format text, things don't always work right. It doesn't seem WYSIWYG anymore. Obviously, it must have something to do with my hand-coding vs. Dreamweaver's style of coding. But I don't even have a copy of Dreamweaver and I don't know where to start debugging. Does this issue stand out to anyone? Is anyone thinking, "Oh! I know exactly why that's happening?" If so, please let me know! Maybe it's the inline CSS I'm using? On the other hand, it looked like a lot of the issues concentrated around Dreamweaver's use of <dd>, <dt>, and <dl>. (I don't know whether it's Dreamweaver or my friend, but a lot of the layout uses these tags.) What can I do? I am trying to integrate a clients two websites, and when I go to insert the lower part/table it shifts about 10 pixels to the right. I normally work in css, and have tried everything I know of to adjust and have suceeded by about 1/2 but am still at a loss as it hangs over to the right causing a glitch in my page. Please help! has anyone ever seen anything like this before? the table can be seen here http://www.balloonlady.net/ thanks in advance! J111 .......... I there. I'm trying to buid a page that once selected an item from a list, auto-reads files in a folder and and sort them in a table, with a calendar look. The files are being feed to the folder with the name "ZON YY-MM-DD.gif" "PSI20 YY-MM-DD.gif" "JMAR YY-MM-DD.gif" i.e. "MONDAY" | "TUESDAY" | "WEDNESDAY" | "THURSDAY" | "FRIDAY" | -------------------------------------------------------------------- YY-MM-DD | YY-MM-DD | YY-MM-DD | YY-MM-DD | YY-MM-DD | .... .... .... -------------------------------------------------------------------- 08-10-20 | 08-10-21 | 08-10-22 | 08-10-23 | 08-10-24 | -------------------------------------------------------------------- 08-10-13 | 08-10-14 | 08-10-15 | 08-10-15 | 08-10-16 | -------------------------------------------------------------------- Until now for each week I was coding in manually the new row for each item, but it's a pain changing the date and item. <tr> <td><div align="center">07-07-2008</div></td> <td><div align="center">08-07-2008</div></td> <td><div align="center">09-07-2008</div></td> <td><div align="center">10-07-2008</div></td> <td><div align="center">11-07-2008</div></td> </tr> <tr> <td><div align="center"> <p><img src="ZON 08-07-08.gif" width="220" height="129" /></p> </div></td> <td><div align="center"> <p><img src="ZON 08-07-08.gif" width="220" height="129" /></p> </div></td> <td><div align="center"> <p><img src="ZON 09-07-08.gif" width="220" height="129" /></p> </div></td> <td><div align="center"> <p><img src="ZON 10-07-08.gif" width="220" height="129" /></p> </div></td> <td><div align="center"> <p><img src="ZON 11-07-08.gif" width="220" height="129" /></p> </div></td> </tr> How can I do this automatically? Doing it with FOR's WHILE's and IF's seems very troublesome. Any code or pointers are welcome. BLopes Hi there, HTML noob here trying to edit existing pages in our student information system. I've added a number of elements in the immunization row, however I can't seem to figure out how to line up the Compliant? and Exempt? rows with the above immunizatiion rows. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks, John Hi I wonder can anyone help with this problem I'm having. I have created a two column table with images in the left column and bulleted text in the right column. I have six images one after the other down the page. This displayed perfectly in firefox but when I checked Internet Explorer, The text is greatly indented from the table cell margin and looks all wrong. Can I format this somehow to display properly in IE. I have several fieldsets contained as elements within a table, all in the same row. Some fieldsets have more fields than others, which makes them taller. The shorter fieldsets "shrink wrap" themselves, which makes the row look non-uniform. Can I format things so every fieldset border is the height of the largest in the row? Hi: I have a long table (613 rows) with two columns (Containing Names, Addresses, Lot Numbers, and Phone Numbers, etc. I would like to format the cells of each column so that certtain fields (e.g., Phone Number is in a certain position in each cell). For example, I'd like this phone number to be right-aligned in the second row of each cell, etc Is there a standard, or easy way to do this ?? Thank for any help offered. -Mel Smith Hi, I added a rich text editor into my html page for text area fields, let us say description field. The user enters the text, modify its color, changes its size and fonts... The value saved for this field in the database is: <font color="#ff00ff">description text </font> and is showing as it is on the screen. If I look at the source code of the page, I notice the following: <font color="#ff00ff">description text </font> The problem is that, there are two conversions happening: < Converted To < > Converted To > How should I avoid this conversion so that the description text appears in its right format taking into consideration the html tags. Note: in the head of the page, I have the following: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> I would appreciate any help. Best Regards, Lara Hey all, I'm not sure if this goes here, but I believe my question is a combination of both HTML and perl (cgi script). I have a website with multiple forms, one being a text area. The user is going to copy/paste test from a file into that text area. The thing is, it has to keep the formatting, so whatever the user typed in the text area is EXACTLY what gets sent through the email. I have worked around this and when using the unix's mail client, i sent it as a content-type: text/enriched. this kept the formatting of the text area and still allowed me to bold some things on the email. What I WANT to do, is send it using Content-type: text/html but still keep the formatting in the text area. Hope this makes sense, thanks. I'm trying to apply simple formatting (i.e., bold, italic, etc.) to a scrolling text box on my site: www.soulsticemarketing.com/faq.htm Does anyone know how to do this? I have a very little task here and I can not figure out the best way to do it without using tables.... I will if I have to but I would rather not. below is a paragraph on my website: Rebuttal – They fail to mention that any taxes/bond use to buy Golden State Water Company will result in a reduction in water rates far in excess of any tax. See details in the Summary Flyer..... I want the the next line to go under the the word "They" (the first word after rebuttal) so the word rebuttal is just off on the left by itself. Here is the code of the paragraph: <strong>Rebuttal</strong> – They fail to mention that any taxes/bond use to buy Golden State Water Company will result in a reduction in water rates far in excess of any tax.... Thank you guys so much in advance I could really use the help! Hello all, I would like to add a basic table to my webpage, it's within < div > tags. Unfortunately, the table looses all formatting. Inside the div tags, the text looks good, but the table elements go back to the standard Times new Roman. Can anyone help me? Many thanks! I want to replace the asterisks with numbers in superscript format - so instead of five asterisks I would just have a '5' on the upper right of the character the row of asterisks was adjacent to: http://episin.blogspot.com/2011/07/f...iological.html Thank you This is the site in question: http://www.kzoo.edu/ultimate/home2.htm I'm pretty bad at HTML but I've been making due with various guides and such so if you're actually looking at the code it's probably really messy. -I'd like all of the links on the left to be fixed, so that scrolling down and such doesn't affect their movement. How could I do that? -I'd also like the "last updated" on the bottom to be fixed, but I'd also like it so that it's always on the bottom regardless of what resolution you're using. How could I do that? -Finally, I want to figure out how to enter text in a paragraph in the center of the page without affecting the location of the links on the left. I tried using the center tag and such, but it would create a new line and mess up the spacing on the left. Thanks. I every one I'm working on a page where the text is set up in HTML and I'm getting some pretty different results on different computers. This really is a 2 parted question. First if you would be so kind as to visit this page and tell me if the text is properly sized and formatted as to fill the areas between the images: http://www.reelectjusticecliffordtaylor.com/bio.html I've included a screen grab of what the text looks like on my PC when I see it live. at this link: http://www.johncliffordtaylor.com/text_example.jpg Second base on what I've seen up to this point I would like to know if there is a way to get the text to appear more uniformly in different browsers on different PC's. So far I'm just working with: body,td,th { font-family: Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px; color: #2B24A6; (pretty much navy) } that are embedded right inside my page HTML page. So I'm very open to any ideas on how to get the text to appear more consistently across many computers and browsers. Thx for the help every one! John When I view the HTML in a normal IE browser it works fine: www.virtuosovideo.com/myspace When I plug the same HTML into a MySpace profile the table gets broken up: www.myspace.com/adamhaviland Any idea why? Any help? Cheers I have 10 rows compose of 3 textbox per row. After pressing submit button, they are post to the next page to a table. But my problem is if only 3 rows have data the other rows is still shown in a table but blank with borders. So I want my table to show the rows who only have data Well, I think that's what it would be considered. Anyways, I have a simple project where I'm making a website that has a drop down menu with a list of items. I also have a table which will define the items. What i want to know is how to change the text in one of the table boxes when a new item in the drop down menu is selected. This is the code i have so far... Code: <html> <head> <title> My Definitions </title> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> var define= new array() define["Unicode"] = "unicoded" define["Hexadecimal"] = "hex" define["Binary"] = "bin" define["Compiler"] = "compil" define["Interpreter"] = "inter" define["Topology"] = "top" define["Server"] = "ser" define["Overflow Error"] = "of" define["Phishing"] = "phish" define["Network"] = "net" function definition(def) { } </script> Select a definition from the list: <select id="list"> <option>Unicode</option> <option>Hexadecimal</option> <option>Binary</option> </select> <br> <br> <table border="1" width="100" cellpadding="5"> <th>Definition:</th> <th>Pictu </th> <tr><td>two</td> <td>one</td></tr> </table> </body> </html> any help would be greatly appreciated. |
