Similar TutorialsHey would anyone be able to tell me how i can change the page size on html so that i dont have a scrollbar along the bottom of the page. what coding do i look for? do i need to look on the css or html? Thanks i have created a page, and i will chk that in firefox, the height of that page is not fixed, but i go through with chrome, the page size is fixed with browser? how to avoid this??? this is the page template code #panelIMG{ position:absolute; width:844px; height:652px; z-index:1; left: 203px; top: 14px; background-image:url(template_bg.jpg); background-repeat:no-repeat; } All, I hope I'm in the right forum. I had already downloaded some very simple example of creating web page tabs some time ago, and now CANNOT find it anywhere for the life of me. I don't remember exactly what code language it was, and I don't think it was java. Not even vbscribt /asp. No controls either. I think it was HTML (if possible), but basically it showed Tab1, Tab2, Tab3, with data that said "this is the first tab", "this is the second", etc... I really need to use this example now, but have lost the original, and no example on the internet quite matches it. Can someone provide a very simple method for creating tabs, or relevant link? Thank you so much! Regards, asp_jr I want to create news items in Div tags (just like a table structure) on an HTML page having 7 rows and 3 equal columns. Would be obliged if you can help me sort this simple question. hi everyone this is my first page so i will probably have a couple of questions to help give me an idea of how to do that i want! basically someone has asked me to design them a site, i did a web design course but that was 6 months ago and i need to learn new things for it as well as try and remember what ive learned! ive got a semi basic layout, ill post the html and css, hopefully ill pate them in the right way (this definitely wont be the colour scheme, ive been following an online tutorial, want to get the layout right before making other tweaks) basically in the content section theyre looking for a rectangular box that has 4 imaes, 2 side by side and two below. these will change when theyre rolled over and when a particular image is clicked it will take them to the correct section of the site. as far as i understand from the css i have the size of the content section will change depending on how much information is there. how would i know what size to make the flash for insertion into this section so it fits properly without any gaps? sorry im a bit new to this but the more i learn the better! i dont have a clue how to actually code the flash yet but getting the size right would be a good start! thanks for your help HTML Code: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="css/master.css" /> </head> <body> <div id="page-container"> <!--this div will hold all the other elements of the page--> <div id="main-nav">Main Nav</div> <div id="header"> <h1> Kilmaclolm Dramatic Society logo to be placed here </h1> </div> <div id="sidebar-a"> <dl class="hidden"> <dt id="about"><a href="#">About</a></dt> <dt id="services"><a href="#">Services</a></dt> <dt id="portfolio"><a href="#">Portfolio</a></dt> <dt id="contact"><a href="#">Contact Us</a></dt> </dl> </div> <div id="content"> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. After every 5 seconds I would like to change the image. After the cycle gets over from Image1 --> Image2 -->Image3-->Image4-->Image5 again Image1 should get displayed. How we can set the timing of display of images. How we can do it using HTML / Java. Regards, EP Hi, I'm a little new at this, and I'm trying to put a pretty simple website together. I have a table that is the basis for the whole website design. It's pretty fixed, so I want all the widths of the table to be constant. A couple rows have fixed heights for aesthetic purposes. A couple rows I want to expand to whatever height is necessary to accomodate the content inside. the fourth row of the table has three cells side by side that I use as the header design. 1) picture 2) space 3) title I want all these to have fixed widths and heights. underneath is a cell that spans the length of all three of those. This is where I want my content. 4) content The length of this stays fixed but the height changes as more content is addes. The trouble is, the table cells display correctly for me as long as there is limited amount of text inside the 4) content cell. Whenever I enter past a few sentences, the 1) picture cell starts taking up more of the width and shrinking the 3) title cell. And this really messes up the nice spacing I had. Any thoughts on why this would happen??? I'm just stuck. I've tried a million things, but I'm sure its something simple I can't see right now. Hopefully a pair of fresh (and knowledgeable) eyes can help! Thanks so much, heres my code: [font="Courier New"] <body> <table width="875" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td height="75" colspan="5"><img src="../images/RichfieldLogo.png" width="250" height="75"></td> </tr> <tr align="center"> <td height="25" colspan="5" valign="top" class="mainmenu" style="border-bottom: solid 1px #666666; border-top: solid 1px #666666"> <h1 class="menu"> <ul> <li><a href="#" class="mainmenu">Home</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="mainmenu">Party in the Park</a></li> <li><a href="#" class="mainmenu">Info</a></li> </ul> </h1></td> </tr> <tr> <td height="20" colspan="5"><img src="../images/20spacer.png" width="20" height="20"></td> </tr> <tr align="left" valign="top"> <td width="190" rowspan="2"> <img src="../images/PartynParkPlaceholder.png" width="190" height="385"></td> <td width="20" rowspan="2"><img src="../images/20spacer.png" width="20" height="20" border="0" align="top"></td> <!-- This is where the trouble starts! Hi Folks, I am new to create static website and HTML. I have created two applications using Asp.net/Visual Studio. I am wondering how i can make static website. I found built in templates on web hosting site is easy to change, I can also try to use Ms Expression Web/Ms Front Page but unable to measure which one is better for maintaing pointing of view. How i can easily create graphics logo. I heard Corel Draw is good one. Do i have to buy licence to upload site built by Ms Expression Web/Ms Front Page. Could any body share his/her experience about creating static website. You help is greatly appreciated. Chao RS i have 2 frames in my parent frame say 1.htm ie left frame and 2.htm ie right frame now this 1.htm is quite a long frame and has a scrollbar and 2.htm is a short one i dont the scroll bar beside my frame 1 but want it to be for my entire parent window ie i wont to scroll both my left and right frames together how do i do that I have this html page, you may see in the attachment. The body font-size is currently at 70%, this creates indentations for the lines below first line. If I change body font-size to 80%, the indentation is gone. Why is there such indentation if font-size is less than 80%? Thanks. I am running on firefox. When you create a select form with a default size or a size of 1, the options (once you expand the form out by clicking it) that are moused over will be highlighted. I want that same effect on a select form with a size of 30. I imagine the solution lies in some javascript onmouseover function, but I couldn't find anything. Help? I have created a website, and its aligned in a table Is there anyway I can make the height and width determined by the size of the screen without distorting the image? I'm fairly new to this, Thanks. I'm having so much trouble with this. I have a site (from photoshop) that will have have fluid layout (100% width) but I want the footer to "stick" to the bottom of the window (unless content goes longer). Example : like when you click On MORE link From The Smilies in this Forum it open a Small Window Resizeble Window HI Im making a site at the mo and im looking to keep the menu and a picture stay in the same position constantly. So when then user moves the scoll wheel only the text are will scroll. I dont want there to be any border or scroll bars around the text, so the only visable scroll bar will be the browsers... any ideas? Hi everyone, I'm trying to work out how to have a left and right side "column" both resize when the window is resized. An example of what I am after is : http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/0,,,00.html. I played with margin-left and -right but don't think it is quite what I am after. Thanks. Hello, I am having a bit of a problem with a website I just started. I am currently on a resolution of 1280x1024 and I want it work for 1024x768. Well, I want it to work for any resolution, really. In fact, I noticed the problem exists when I go from maximizing the browser window to minimizing it. Here is what it looks like at 1280x1024 with the browser window maximized. Here is what it looks like at 1024x768 or when the browser window is less than maximized. See the problem? The two background images to either side of the banner image are lessening, as the resolution decreases or the browser window is decreases. Yet, the banner image remains unaffected. How can I make sure that the html is proportional to resolution, such that the background image on either side of the banner image remain unaffected in the manner in which they are currently? Thank you. Here is the HTML: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 3.2//EN"> <html> <head> <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Test</title> </head> <body> <table border="2"> <!-- table 1 --> <tbody> <tr> <td width="10%" style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(pictures\BG.jpg)"><!-- col 1 --> </td> <td width="80%"><!-- col 2 --> <table border="4"> <!-- Table 2 --> <tbody> <tr> <td><img src="pictures/banner.jpg"> </td> </tr> <tr> <td>More stuff goes here</td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </td> <td width="10%" style="BACKGROUND-IMAGE: url(pictures\BG.jpg)"><!-- col 3 --> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> <!-- table 1 --> </body> </html> in the past when ever I have string that is longer than the width specified in the <td>it always automatically line breaked for me. But now I am encountering an issue with the <td> stop auto line breaking, and instead just increase the width of the table to make the string fit in 1 line. if anyone know whats possibly causing this problem please reply, any thing suggestion is greatly appreciated. Thanks can i have fixed layout for only some part of a table? I want the first column of my table to be "auto" and the other columns to be "fixed" llike style='table-layout:fixed;'. How can I achieve this? Thanks! Hi, Background: I have a small page that need to be embeded into a bounch of other html pages. Help needed: 1.
