HTML - How To Use Form To Choose Iframe Contents
Hello all,
I'm try to use a form to choose what webpage is displayed in an iframe on the same page. What I have so far is not working: <form name="list" action="" method="get" target="repIframe" style="margin:0px;padding:0px"> <select name="zone"> <option value="./testadvisory.php?warnzone=UTZ019&warncounty=UTC053">St. George</option> <option value="./testadvisory.php?warnzone=UTZ013&warncounty=UTC043">Cedar City</option> </select> </form> <iframe name="repIframe" src="blank.html"></iframe> Could someone offer a suggestion ir procedure to allow the use of a form to choose the content of the iframe? Thanks, Randy Similar TutorialsCan anyone help me re-adjust the starting point of the iframe contents? If I make no sense I'll make some pictures. I don't know how to describe it, sorry. Thanks for the help I would like to know how to create a mini form of two pull down boxes so that when the two selections have been made and submitted it returns back a designated page or picture. For example I want to build a simple method to show routes of an office building. Pulldown box 1 would be the office number you want to start from, and pulldown box two would be the office you want to get to. when you click submit it would pull up either a page or picture which contains the corrrect floor plan and route. I feel like this should not be too hard as I don't need anything very flashy. I just don't know how to start it. If anyone knows of something open source already created to do this I would be open to that too. Thanks in advance for any assistence you can give. Hi I'm having trouble figuring out how to import a specific set of data from XML using xpath. I haven't been able to get my head around the examples I have been playing with. Here's an example of my XML: <X> <S> <A>Blah</A> <T>Blah</T> </S> <S> <A>Blah</A> <T>Blah</T> </S> <1a> <S> <A>Blah</A> <T>Blah</T> </S> <S> <A>Blah</A> <T>Blah</T> </S> </1a> <S> <A>Blah</A> <T>Blah</T> </S> </X> and php to import it: $xml = simplexml_load_file('test2.xml'); $result = $xml->xpath('S/A'); print_r($result); The above prints out the blah's in all the <A></A>'s. How do I get only the blah's in all the <A></A>'s that are between the <1a></1a> nodes? Various combinations I try give empty arrays. Thanks for your help. Shaun as i am not very good in php and oither scripting. I browse through this forum and found the easier way to sent a form result via email is to add a mailto in form action <form action="mailto:acb@def.com"> Now my question is, can i do a droplist and put a several email for user to choose. after choose. then my action will send the email out according to what the user choose... I want the visitor to my website to be able to choose 2 live webcam streams from a text list of say 20 different streams, I have the code for each stream, what I would like is the 2 chosen streams to display on the same page side by side Hello everyone! First post on the forum, and wow, I spelled my username wrong Anyway, I am working on a new project, a rather adventurous and something out of my comfort zone one at that The website I am working on can be seen currently at it's development address - http://test.tinyentertainment.biz (Please note that most links, buttons, etc. do not work or are dead as it is of course, a development in it's early stages.) Anyway, my question is, is there a script or something else that would allow me to enter in a number of divs', and every time the page is reloaded, it will choose a random, or systematic, one to display? What I want to do, is if you notice on the home page of the website linked to above, below the large text under the flash banner, there is a quote- " "You're so afraid of taking chances, how you gonna reach the top?" -Greyson M. Chance" " I would like to have a number of different quotes to be displayed there when the page is reloaded. The current code is- Code: <div class="row"> <h3 class="center">We are a <span>fan community</span> dedicated to supporting <span>Greyson Chance</span> and his career.<b /> Don't forget to visit the <span><a href="http://www.thegreysonchanceforum.com" target="_blank" title="Visit The Forum - The Greyson Chance Forum" onMouseOver="window.status='Visit The Forum - The Greyson Chance Forum'; return true" onMouseOut="window.status=' '">forum</a></span> to chat with other fans.</h3> <p class="center"><em>"You're so afraid of taking <span>chances</span>, how you gonna reach the top?" -Greyson M. Chance</em></p> Thank you! I have a webpage at http://atlas.walagata.com/w/osmose/moosecorps/. It's a PHP page that sticks different code in the body depending on the page. The main page's newsbox does not appear correctly in IE6, but I can't figure out why - every cell but the one that should be stretched has a cell width defined. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT: Ugh, the Books page isn't working either. Again, help would be nice. Hi folks, I run a mail/web hosting service and we have a client who is telling us that we have changed something on our server that has stopped part of their website working. So I have had a look at their code and to me I can't see how it ever worked, hence my posting here to see what everyone else thinks. The site uses a CMS system (I'm not sure precisely which one) with the main page being index.php The particular page in question runs through index.php and then calls an iframe as such: Code: <iframe height="1445" allowTransparency="true" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" style="width:100%;border:none" src="http://www.domain.tld/formadmin/embed.php?id=1" title="Request a call back"><a href="http://www.domain.tld/formadmin/view.php?id=1" title="Request a call back">Request a call back</a></iframe> We then move onto the form itself which is defined as such: <form id="form_1" class="appnitro" method="post" action="#main_body"> When you click the submit button on the form, the server replies with the content of the main index page to the website. From what I see, the #main_body action is simply incorrect and the form should be posting back to embed.php instead of to #main_body. This company are insistent that it used to work and that it still works on their test server (yet they won't provide me with any copies of their configuration files so that I can see if there's any php differences or anything like that). So, my questions to you folks are this. 1) Give the code above, is there any set of circumstances where #main_body would post back to the iframe instead of to the original file that may have somehow been affected by a backend configuration on the server? 2) If the action of the form is changed to match the source of the iframe, it is my understanding that the form should work properly. Assuming no other fancy stuff in the CMS then I imagine this is correct? Thanks! This is very basic but somehow won't work..i just need the form to target the iframe instead of a new window. <form> <table border="0" width="80" cellspacing="0"> <tr><td width="100%" bgcolor="#000000" style="height: 70px"> <table border="0" width="100%" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"> <tr><td width="100%" background="images/boxtopA.png"><img border="0" src="images/11dot.gif" width="19" height="19"></td></tr> </table> <table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="3" style="width: 94%; height: 1px"> <tr><td width="2%" background="images/boxbackA.png" style="height: 28px"> <img border="0" src="images/11dot.gif" width="18" height="18"> </td><td width="98%" background="images/boxbackB.png" style="height: 28px"> <select class="combobox" name="SiteMap" onchange="if(options[selectedIndex].value){location = options[selectedIndex].value}" size="1" > <option selected>Select Date </option> <option value="http://donedealevents.myjalbum.net/Inaugural%205-12-2007" >5-12-2007</option><option value="http://donedealevents.myjalbum.net/Inaugural%205-19-2007" >5-19-2007</option> </select> </td></tr> </table></td></tr> </table> </form> <hr /> <br /> <iframe name="gallery" width="512" height="370" style="width: 817px; height: 771px"> Please use a browser that supports iframes </iframe> <br /> Thanks please help choose a nice background color theme for my site... I'm not savy with html...I'm trying to find the code so I can change this "plain jane" background color of my "template made site". Can I get some opinions on a color theme and ALSO where I would insert the color codes. Not looking for a "in your face" attack..just anything better than the blah brown/tan colors! TIA hi, i've a very simple html page, where i have an iframe. The problem is that i want to add some text below the iframe. however, my text keeps showing up on the right hand side of the iframe. i've looked at the tutorials discussing the tags available for iframe, but surprisingly, none seem to relevant to this. Code: <html> <body> <table border="0" cellspacing="10"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="left"> <td valign="top"> <iframe src="mySource.jsp" height="700" width="600" frameborder="0" scrolling="auto"></iframe> </td> </table> This should be displayed below the iframe but actually gets displayed on the right </body> </html> any help / guidance in this will be much appreciated. thanks in advance! I have 2 IFrames on a page. I am going to end up with a long list of shows to catch-up on. Is there a way I can embed an IFrame with the list, and when you click on a show, you it will change the Playing Show http://tiny.cc/catchup <---The page I am referring to. I have a page split into 3 main frames * one across the top * one on the left hand side (menu) * one on the right side (content) pretty typical layout, But we are finding that we are having more and more content being put into the top frame and the contents dont all show fully (they are cut off by the bottom of the frame). How can I control the height of the frame to show the entire content all the time? Thanks for any help! Mark After finding a workaround to the perils of using frames, I decided to give myself a new headache. I would like to use the contents of one frame to determine the contents of another using a script within the page itself. Specifically, I want my index page to automatically determine which page within my site the user has navigated to (the page will appear in the content frame) then load a complimentary page in another frame (say and ad frame). Can I do this with javascript or CSS, or do I need to make the index page a php? Hello friend, If I post article more then some words , it takes two pages to display the content. This company maintain an internal web site over on the intranet here, and it's address is: http://website/main So it's only accessable internally. I've been asked to make a copy of it, so the only way that I can figure it out is to go to each page and from IE, File menu, choose Save As, this saves the .html of that page and all the graphics automatically. Is there a way to archive everything automatically, meaning, start with the front page, save all the .html, any graphics, any links and those documents and then go to each other link and save everything, like a web crawler would do. If such an application exists, then what is it and will it work internally ? I use Win XP, IE Browser, Front Page (I am limited to this, as the employer offers this), text editor and Office software. Please let me know what you think, thanks!!!!!!! Hello, I'm working on an internal training CD where I'm going to have several Quicktime videos and I need to categorize them by Chapter & Movie Title, similar to: Chapter 1 - Bananas Movie 1 Movie 2 Movie 3 Chapter 2 - Grapes Movie 4 Movie 5 Movie 6 Etc..... The end user would click on "Movie #". It should be easy enough, but there are two things I need. One - for the Microsoft Active Control warning to go away (not appear) as this will be run locally, and Two - for the movie file to run outside of the browser, or at least for the browser to not show any toolbars or menu options as the movie fills most of the screen. Any way to do this in HTML - something that is easy for me to make the links. I'll have probably a hundred or so movies to each of the CDs I'm compiling, so that's a lot of manual linking. Thanks... |
