Similar TutorialsFor my Javascript class, we are to take a code from the book and add on to it. In this code, I decided to add custom markers and info windows for each location. I got the info windows to work but they are the same for each marker. How can I fix this? Here is what I have: Code: <script> function init() { var myLatLng = new google.maps.LatLng(36.795209, -3.339844); var myOptions = { zoom: 2, center: myLatLng }; var map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map"), myOptions); //This is Location 1 var image = 'image1.jpg'; var canyon= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(35.9766,-113.7717), map: map, title:"Grand Canyon, USA"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Grand Canyon, USA"}); google.maps.event.addListener(canyon, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, canyon); }); //This is Location 2 var image = 'image2.jpg'; var paricutin= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(19.5948,-102.4331), map: map, title:"Paricutin, Mexico"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Paricutin, Mexico"}); google.maps.event.addListener(paricutin, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, paricutin); }); //This is Location 3 var image = 'image3.jpg'; var victoria= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(-17.928,25.826), map: map, title:"Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe"}); google.maps.event.addListener(victoria, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, victoria); }); //This is Location 4 var image = 'image4.jpg'; var reef= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(-17.98,146.76), map: map, title:"Great Barrier Reef, Austrailia"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Great Barrier Reef, Austrailia"}); google.maps.event.addListener(reef, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, reef); }); //This is Location 5 var image = 'image5.jpg'; var harbor= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(-22.8424,-43.1502), map: map, title:"Harbor Rio De Janerio, Brazil"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Harbor Rio De Janerio, Brazil"}); google.maps.event.addListener(harbor, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, harbor); }); //This is Location 6 var image = 'image6.jpg'; var everest= new google.maps.Marker({ position: new google.maps.LatLng(27.98783,86.92476), map: map, title:"Mount Everest Peak, Nepal"}); var infoWindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ content: "Mount Everest Peak, Nepal"}); google.maps.event.addListener(everest, 'click', function(){ infoWindow.open(map, everest); }); } google.maps.event.addDomListener(window, 'load', init); </script> Hey guys, I've been experimenting around with a way to get a "Save As" dialog to pop up prompting the user to download a certain file from the server. How I've done this so far is open a window in Javascript to a PHP file, server side, passing an argument through _GET. The PHP generates the file and then sends a header request to download. Simple enough. The problem is that using this method opens a blank window in addition to the Save As Dialog. Is there anyway to fool the browser/ hide the window/ etc, so two windows don't pop up at the same time everytime my users press the download button? I am also pretty familiar with AJAX techniques, so if anyone has a solution along that route as well I'd appreciate it. Cheers, Q I'm not really much of a javascript programmer, but I occasionally use javascript that I've found here and there. But I'm unable to find anything that helps me in what I'm trying to do now. I regularly use a snippet of code that pops up a small window to display an image or a very small html file. Using the window.open() function, I'm able to disable scrolling, resizing, etc., and size it to my needs. I'll have a window.close link somewhere on the page. But in my current project, my customer's page has several links related to other companies. When you click on the link, an that company's ad pops up in a small window. At this point, the viewer can simply close the window, or they should be able to click on the ad and be taken to that company's website. I'm able to have it close the window and open that new url in the parent browser window, but my website customer doesn't want their site to go away. They want the new company's website in a new window. Or I can simply NOT close the popup window, but now the new company's website is in a relatively small browser window, unable to scroll, resize, etc. Is there a way for me to somehow modify an existing window with an onclick directive - something similar to the window.open() function, OR open a new browser window with window.open() AND close the popup window? If I haven't made myself clear, let me know and I'll try to explain myself better. Thanks in advance for any help. I am facing problem in IE6.x.x. when opening pdf document for modaldialog. Hi, I want to a javascript function like showModalDialog(<page_name>,'','<options>') here in the option I need to have overlay property where I can set opacity values. Is there any solution? Please letme know I have a page with categories of images. When clicked, each image on the left opens a div with it's own gallery of thumbnails. http://myspringslandscaping.com/portfolio.html Right now, to close a div, the category image has to be clicked a second time. How can I set it so that when one div opens, the other closes automatically? The client wants only one category displayed at a time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Please share me if anyone of you faced this problem and solved already. I am using the below code to assign the javascript function on select on radio button. This may vary based on radio button selection. For some radio button selection the button will be disabled. if(yes) { document.getElementById("Name").href = "javaScript:functionA()"; document.getElementById("Name").onclick = "javaScript:functionA()"; }else { document.getElementById("Name").href = "#"; } This is the code i am using to activate the button or disable the button. For some causes i am getting "javaScript:functionA()" in the address bar instead of calling that java script method. So my new window is not showing me the correct result. Please some one advise me how to solve this problem. Thanks in advance. Regards, Jeva Hey everyone. Been racking my brain all day trying to figure out how to duplicate this code with the limited javascript knowledge I have been trying to learn. This code is a Dropdown menu of Yes or No, than a Select button that Opens up a Text Input directly below the dropdown. So far, It works great. My problem is I need at least two of these on the same page and I do not know how to go about it. I have tried changing values to accommodate adding another on the same form, but than both stop working. Can someone Please HELP! Thank you in advance. Code: <html> <head> <SCRIPT language="javascript"> function add(type) { //Create an input type dynamically. var element = document.createElement("input"); //Assign different attributes to the element. element.setAttribute("type", type); element.setAttribute("value", type); element.setAttribute("name", type); element.setAttribute("id", type); var foo = document.getElementById("fooBar"); //Append the element in page (in span). foo.appendChild(element); } </SCRIPT> </head> <body> <label> <SELECT name="element"> <OPTION value="text" name="refer_yes" id="refer_yes">Yes</OPTION> <OPTION value="text" name="refer_no" id="refer_no">No</OPTION> </SELECT> <INPUT type="button" value="Select" onclick="add(document.forms[0].element.value='')"/> </label> <span id="fooBar"> </span> </body> <html> Hello I am trying to create a form which when the submit button is selected will open a new window with 1 of 4 URLs based on the the combination of data in 2 select boxes. Thanks Daniel Hi, Is there any way (any api) to display the confirm dialog box with yes/no buttons instead of ok/cancel in javascript. Can any one please let me know. Thanks in advance. Hey Scripters, I need to complete a task for a friend and I am stuck at this part. I am new with Javascript but I'm his only friend that knows a bit of Javascript. So for this problematic part of my task, I need to use tables and dialog boxes. First of all I need to define an array of 3 elements. Each element is associated with a different first name. Then I shall realize a first function to add a name in the table. The function takes as parameter the table previously created and return it containing an additional element whose value is the name that the visitor wants to add. I must use the dialog box prompt so that the user can specify the name he wishes to add in the table. I shall also perform a second function which will display the name that is included in the different array elements. This function will also take the table in parameters and proceed with setting the display name with a dialog box alert type that contains all of the name separated by ";". Help is very much appreciated. Please don't post links, I need explanations, so that I can understand next time I encounter this situation. I have created a button with a window.confirm() method but when I click on it in firefox the dialog box does not appear. It does however appear in all the other browsers
Hello, I have some code to open 1 dialog box. Could someone please help me manipulate this code to open multiple boxes with different contents. When a user clicks on New Service, another dialog is shown where they the put the name of the service and after they click Create, I want that dialog box and the first one close as well. Here is my code, I can't figure it out. I want the #create-userDialog box to close after the user clicks on Create in #new-serviceDialog. <script> $(function() { $( "#dialog:ui-dialog" ).dialog( "destroy" ); $( "#create-userDialog" ).dialog({ autoOpen: false, width: 600, modal: true, buttons: { "OPEN": function() { var bValid = true; allFields.removeClass( "ui-state-error" ); }, CLOSE: function() { $( this ).dialog( "close" ); } }, close: function() { allFields.val( "" ).removeClass( "ui-state-error" ); } }); $( "#create-user" ) .button() .click(function() { $( "#create-userDialog" ).dialog( "open" ); }); $( "#new-serviceDialog" ).dialog({ autoOpen: false, width: 400, modal: true, buttons: { "Create": function() { var bValid = true; onclick = $( this ).dialog( "close" ); allFields.removeClass( "ui-state-error" ); }, Close: function() { $( this ).dialog( "close" ); } }, close: function() { allFields.val( "" ).removeClass( "ui-state-error" ); } }); $( "#new-service" ) .button() .click(function() { $( "#new-serviceDialog" ).dialog( "open" ); }); }); </script> I have searched this, I promise. But everything I've tried either does nothing or just opens a new window. All I want to be able to do is to have a button that when the user clicks on it, it will open a "save as" dialog box so they can save a file (a separate file, not the html one that they are looking at) from my server. Is this really not possible using javascript, or am I just completely confused again?
