JavaScript - Can Javascript Validate Correct Entry In A Field As Well As It Can Accept Empty Field

I am Gururaj.
I have written a form in HTML which contains username,lastname,email,password and submit.
I have written a javascript to validate this form [validate(username,lastname,email,password)].
On submit this javascript function will be called and hence form get validated.
I am passing all the arguements(username,lastname,email and password) to the javascript function..


Is it possible to make me a code such that it should call an individual function for each field in the form.for ex:if i have not entered username, last name in the form and attempt to submit, only username arguement should be passed to the function as it comes first in the form.
In other sense i want to validate individual text field validation of my form.


So can anybody help me.It will be very needful to me.

Im in need of some help with regards to forms. I am looking to build as basic as possible, a form that has 3 select dropdowns that have predetermined options. The user will select the first option and based on that option the second will populate and based on that, the third one will give the last option.

Now, when the last one is selected, i need a div or a paragraph displaying information to be displayed.

So here's the framework.

Option 1 = fruit or vegitables of which fruit is selected is selected by the user
Option 2 = Apples, Grapes, and pears of which apples is then selected
Option 3 = Red, Green and Yellow of which Green is selected.

Once green is selected, I need a description about the green aple to be displayed.

Can anyone help me out on this? I am not sure where to begin and my boss is adament it must be done like yesterday. Ay help will be appreciated.

Hi. I have a form and in the form is a checkbox use as a switch to hide and unhide a two textbox. When the other textbox is hide, the other is unhide such as the code below. When the user click the submit button on the first time and there is an error, it reloads and the id="fieldset.-in_honor" hide because it is set to hide initially but not empty. My problem is, I want to show the fieldset whichever is not empty after submit button is click and there is an error so user will not enter any more information to the other field. Is that possible? Please help. I have a hard time explaining it but hopefully you will get the idea. Thanks in advance and hope to hear from you as soon as possible.

Looking to see if anyone could tell me where I'm going wrong with this script...

I'm trying to have a field automatically filled with the day of the week ("Monday", "Tuesday", "Wednesday" and so on), upon the user selecting a date from the datepicker jQuery. If this isn't clear, I'll clarify further down the page.

I'm basically trying to say, if the user selected today (15/05/2012) in the field 428 it would fill the field 429 with "Tuesday".

Again, if the user selected 18/05/2012 in the field 428 then it would automatically fill field 429 with "Friday".

It's being done to work in conjunction with a wordpress plugin called Formidable Pro hence the item_meta[428] etc.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot get an address entered on a form to validate unless I leave out the space between the number and the street name. The second line of the function shows the characters that it will accept. Every way I tried to add a space to that list doesn't work.

(This is from a tutorial I'm studying to learn how to do validation. It seems strange that the folks who put this thing together don't know there's a space between the house number and the street name. Or does that only apply to my street?)

I have a text field, call it income, that when the input is > 0 I need to dynamically show the next text box, and if it is blank hide the next text box. I would like to use onBlur but can't seem to get it to work.

I have two drop down fields. When I select any value in the first drop down i want the second dropdown to automatically populate the value related to the first one. For e.g i have the first field as name and the second field as measured in. If I select 'Potato' in the first dropdown then the second drop down should populate 'kg'. Please help.

I have designed an online registration system for a non profit in ASP/SQL. After the members register for classes they are automatically redirected to an invoice page with class fees. At the bottom of the page I have a Total Fees field of all the classes. The member is supposed to pay this amount to our organization.

Question:
We decided to do an online payment this year and would like to calculate a 2% additional amount on the Total Fees. This amount is paid to the Payment Merchant site. We cannot afford to lose the 2% since we are a non profit.

Would really appreciate if someone can tell me how to
1) Add a new field under the Total field
2) And calculate the 2% additional fees and do a Grand Total.

Hi, I'm mainly a PHP/HTML coder, but now I saw an excellent opportunity to use some Javascript. On my social network I'm adding the option to comment on statuses. What I need help with is how to this:
I want it to be a text that says "Comment on status",
when the user clicks this text I want the comment form to drop down under there and the "comment on status" link to disappear.

Dear All

I have done some coding in javascript . Where i am generating the textbox field and checkbox dynamicaly . That is as per condition if there is one record match as per condition then that many text field will be generated

So just to give a example , which is not dynamical

What i want to do is first the text field are disable and when the checkbox is checked then the text box should be enable

For 1 record the logic is working proper , but if there are more then 1 record then it does not work

Can you'll please help
