These messages do not appear when using Mozilla Firefox. i wanted to add an error message to it, that comes up underneath the <div id="responsecontainer" align="center"></div> that says "Error" with an id number next to it, then when your mouse goes over it a box comes out saying "there was a problem retrieving your information. the game will continue trying to resolve this" and then underneath where it says error i would like it to say the number of attempts it has tried to recollect the information. obviously i would only like this error message to come up, when it cannot refresh the information. I read somewhere that it's a good idea to remove all of the javascript elements from the HTML. So I pieced it together and it works. Hi, I have written a function to compare each character in startString with another nominated character (nomChar). If they are the same this character is written to outputString, in the same position. If they are not the same a character is lifted from the same position in altString and placed in the same position in outputString instead. I hope that's clear! Hi I have developed an internet mapping site which uses an html viewer with various frames to pull in a mapping window, a legend / key and a frame of tools amongst other things. It works absolutely fine in Internet Explorer version 6, but whilst testing it in Internet Explorer 7, my mapping window is not loading up the image. It might seem strange me posting this in a javascript forum but as the error is javascript related I thought I would give it a shot! The error message I am receiving is "Access is denied". After looking online, it appears as though this error could be linked to the use of frames; and those frames trying to access other windows with different document domains?? I'm new to js and this forum. This is driving me nuts. I've been trying for days looking for the answer but no luck. I have a page that looks fine in all major browsers except IE. An error exclamation mark shows up in the bottom right corner of the page. On one of my pages, I get "Error on page" in the status bar when viewing it in Internet Explorer. I don't get this message in Firefox. I have an external javascript (code below) for tooltips on the webpage. I did not write the script, I merely changed one or two things. When I double click the status bar to see what the message is, it says: 'tt.timer' is null or not an object. Line: 70 Char: 3 I'm new to javascript, and so I'm not sure of what I need to alter. Hi Im alot stuck at the moment so if anyone can help resolve the issues i'm having I would be very grateful! if you go to http://love2-create.com and click on the orange "view profile" link about halfway down the left hand column, a tab opens showing a profile with a small picture gallery at the bottom, this gallery works fine in firefox and google chrome, however in safari it works sometimes but not always and in IE it usually works on the first time the page is loaded but then when the page is refreshed and the profile link is clicked I get an Error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object on line 60, the lines in question look like this: Code: buildcontentdivs:function(setting){

Does anyone know why this may be, and how it can possibly work sometimes but not always?? its totally got me baffled so if anyone can help I would very very much appreciate it, please let me know if you need any other details about the site etc from me. Regards, Keir Hello guys, You were all very kind to help me a few months ago when I was trying to create the code which is posted below. it is a table of banner ads that will rotate on my website and the appropriate link follows the appropraite ad when they rotate. everything is working fine except that when you click on one of the ads ( which is a link), the link works but the page displays an error at the bottom as soon as any link is clicked. Since this type of hyperlink is associated with the javascript, im not sure how to correct the issue. maybe it is a simple thing. can anyone take a look at this and help me figure out the issue? thanks.
