JavaScript - Displaying Images According To Time Of Day
Similar TutorialsAhoy, Lemme try to explain this as best as I can. Bullet points might help: When someone clicks on an image here (http://gta.kwivia.co.uk/gta-iv/), the rest of the images collapse and become invisible Below the image, some links appear Also, there will be a "show other images" button which will then show the rest of the images http://gta.kwivia.co.uk/gta-iv/ I will appreciate all solutions to this problem. If you need to know anything, simply ask me. Hi guys! Very new to registering here, but have lurked the forums for quite a while, and love the help I see the members give to those in need! Well, it's time to call myself: one of those in need! I'm building a "clan" website, and as such, there's things like clan events, competitions, and clan vs clan battles. However, the problem we have is that when listing the time, some people get confused with time zones, and as such, forget we Australians are a day ahead. As such, the easiest way to resolve this would be to have a date and time on the home page which we can then "refer" to when speaking about particular times an event is going to take place. What I pretty much want is something to say in text: "2:30am, Friday the 30th of October 2010" The GMT is going to be set to that of the server, so I'd like it to be GMT-7, so that when people visit the official game's server and see the time, they can then refer it back to our own time zone. I understand that a javascript script for date and time is available quite publically that can add or take 7 hours from your local time and call that the "GMT-7", but not everyone is on GMT+0, and as such, it gives multiple people different timings. I also want the time to update instantly (without refreshing the page). If I could PLEASE get some help, that would be greatly appreciated. I recently designed the website to be Halloween-related, and as such, want to launch it VERY soon (gosh, only 1 day to Halloween! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!), this is the only thing holding me back at the moment... Thank you for any help, I do very much appreciate it. (oh, p.s: I'm VERY new to javascript, and understand VERY little of it, if you give me a script and say "you can change the GMT to -7, please clearly indicate where I can do this as I won't be able to find it myself).. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm a newbie...be gentle Hi I have to display images in Listview control, again the listview in Repeater data control.I have to provide the image URL for image control by retrieving image stream from database. With using asp.net,c# is very slow,so how can I achieve this using javascript? Please anybody can help me.. Hello there I am using the below code to resize images posted on a forum, however when the page is loading it loads the images full size on sreen stretching the page to however wide the largest picture is and only resizes them once every picture has loaded and the page then goes back to normal width. Does anyone know how I could make it so the images only display once they've resized ? Code: <script> window.onload = resizeimg; function resizeimg() { var theImages = document.getElementsByTagName('img'); for( var i = 0; i < theImages.length; i++ ) { im = theImages[ i ]; if( im.width > 468 && !/\/(pic1\.jpg|pic2\.jpg)/i.test( im.src ) ) { im.style.width = '466px'; im.style.border = "1px solid #000000"; im.style.padding = "2px"; im.style.marginBottom = "1px"; im.onclick = function() { window.open( this.src, 'fullscale','width='+ this.width +', height='+ this.height +',scrollbars=1,resizable=1').focus(); } try{ im.style.cursor = 'hand';}catch(e){ im.style.cursor = 'pointer'; } im.title = 'Click Here To See Image Full Size '; } } } </script> So this is my first thread and I am a noob at javascript so please forgive obvious mistakes. I am try to make images float across the screen horizontally. Ideally I would like them to come from both sides and be at different y positions. The problem I am having is that I can only seem to get one to move at a time. Another problem is that when they move off to the right of the screen it expands the viewable size of the site. So here's what I've come up with thus far. Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html><head> <title>Image Mover</title> <style> DIV.movable { position:absolute; } body { background-color: #0CF; } </style> <script language="javascript"> var x = 5; //Starting Location - left var y = 5; //Starting Location - top var dest_x = 1000; //Ending Location - left var dest_y = 5; //Ending Location - top var interval = 1; //Move 10px every initialization function moveImage() { //Keep on moving the image till the target is achieved if(x<dest_x) x = x + interval; if(y=dest_y) y = y + interval; //Move the image to the new location document.getElementById("cloud").style.top = y+'px'; document.getElementById("cloud").style.left = x+'px'; //if ((x+interval < dest_x) && (y+interval < dest_y)) { //Keep on calling this function every 100 microsecond // till the target location is reached window.setTimeout('moveImage()',100); } </script> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> </head> <body background="backgroundgradient.png" onload="moveImage()"> <div id="cloud" class="movable"> <img src="cloud01.png" /> </div> <script language="javascript"> var x = -100; //Starting Location - left var y = 5; //Starting Location - top var dest_x = 1500; //Ending Location - left var dest_y = 5; //Ending Location - top var interval = 1; //Move 10px every initialization function moveImage01() { //Keep on moving the image till the target is achieved if(x<dest_x) x = x + interval; if(y=dest_y) y = y + interval; //Move the image to the new location document.getElementById("plane").style.top = y+'px'; document.getElementById("plane").style.left = x+'px'; //if ((x+interval < dest_x) && (y+interval < dest_y)) { //Keep on calling this function every 100 microsecond // till the target location is reached window.setTimeout('moveImage01()',10); } </script> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> </head> <body background="web_layout/backgroundgradient.png" onload="moveImage01()"> <div id="plane" class="movable"> <img src="plane.png" /> </div> </body> </html> Any help is greatly appreciated. However, I want to achieve to display the time difference between a given start and end time. Right now, it calculates from the current server time to the end time. I want to be able to set up my own start time and end time. Here is what I have: http://jsfiddle.net/BgEtE/ thank you for help I'm not really a Java writer, so I don't know how to do this myself, though I imagine it would be pretty simple. I am looking to add a script to a webpage that allows users to input a time manually, and have it converted to GMT/Zulu time and display the converted time. I have seen a lot of time zone conversion scripts online, but they all just convert whatever the current system time is to another time zone. I am looking for a script that allows users to convert a time and show the zulu time, for times other than the current time. The time zone the inputed local time would be in is +4:30 (Kabul). I don't really care about style or aestehtics, just a simple script I can insert into a web page to have a time input field. The converted output time can appear in another field, a popup bubble, etc, again style isn't really an issue. It's really just to help people in my job who need to know what the GMT/Zulu time was for certain local times after the fact. One would think it shouldn't be that hard to just subtract 4:30 in your head, but apparently it is. Sorry if just asking for code outright like this is frowned upon. hi, can some one help me how to get the time and date difference? given two time and date with the following format like in textbox A: 2011-05-03 17:35:47.0 and textbox B: 2011-05-03 16:35:47.0 then the output would be: 0 days, 1 hour, 0 minutes, 0 seconds regards, verve This is my first time doing JavaScript I don't what I did wrong here, but the problem its not showing up the current date and time. Code: <script language = "JavaScript" type="text/javascript"> now = new Date(); localtime = now.toString(); utctime = now.GMTString(); document.wite("<b>localtime</b>" + localtime + "</br>"); document.write("<b>utctime</b>" + utctime); </script> This is what supposed to look like I have tried using different browser chrome,IE9,Maxtor, and Opera my OS is Win7 Hi - I have a date in my javascript like this: Mon Dec 12 00:00:00 UTC+0430 2011 I need to convert it to a date without the offset (the +0430). I actually changed my computer's timezone to generate this offset - we have uses placing orders on our site who don't use UTC and it's throwing our orders out as they need to select a delivery date but it's passing the date with the offset. How do I convert a date to UTC time? Thanks Hi there! Well, I recently found the Image clock code, and I am loving it! But, I would like it to only display pacific time, not retrieve the time from a users browser. Here's my code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> /*********************************************** * JavaScript Image Clock- by JavaScript Kit (www.javascriptkit.com) * This notice must stay intact for usage * Visit JavaScript Kit at http://www.javascriptkit.com/ for this script and 100s more ***********************************************/ var imageclock=new Object() //Enter path to clock digit images here, in order of 0-9, then "am/pm", then colon image: imageclock.digits=["/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c012.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c112.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c211.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c311.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c411.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c511.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c611.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c711.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c811.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/c911.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/cam11.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/cpm13.png", "/users/1712/49/18/66/album/ccolon11.png"] imageclock.instances=0 var preloadimages=[] for (var i=0; i<imageclock.digits.length; i++){ //preload images preloadimages[i]=new Image() preloadimages[i].src=imageclock.digits[i] } imageclock.imageHTML=function(timestring){ //return timestring (ie: 1:56:38) into string of images instead var sections=timestring.split(":") if (sections[0]=="0") //If hour field is 0 (aka 12 AM) sections[0]="12" else if (sections[0]>=13) sections[0]=sections[0]-12+"" for (var i=0; i<sections.length; i++){ if (sections[i].length==1) sections[i]='<img src="'+imageclock.digits[0]+'" />'+'<img src="'+imageclock.digits[parseInt(sections[i])]+'" />' else sections[i]='<img src="'+imageclock.digits[parseInt(sections[i].charAt(0))]+'" />'+'<img src="'+imageclock.digits[parseInt(sections[i].charAt(1))]+'" />' } return sections[0]+'<img src="'+imageclock.digits[12]+'" />'+sections[1]+'<img src="'+imageclock.digits[12]+'" />'+sections[2] } imageclock.display=function(){ var clockinstance=this this.spanid="clockspan"+(imageclock.instances++) document.write('<span id="'+this.spanid+'"></span>') this.update() setInterval(function(){clockinstance.update()}, 1000) } imageclock.display.prototype.update=function(){ var dateobj=new Date() var currenttime=dateobj.getHours()+":"+dateobj.getMinutes()+":"+dateobj.getSeconds() //create time string var currenttimeHTML=imageclock.imageHTML(currenttime)+'<img src="'+((dateobj.getHours()>=12)? imageclock.digits[11] : imageclock.digits[10])+'" />' document.getElementById(this.spanid).innerHTML=currenttimeHTML } </script> <DIV STYLE="position:absolute; top:260px; left:215px; width:109px; height:28px"> <FONT SIZE="+2" COLOR="black"> <TABLE BORDER="0" cellpadding="10" CELLSPACING="0" TOP MARGIN="0"> <TR> <TD WIDTH="109" HEIGHT="28" BACKGROUND="/users/1712/49/18/66/album/clock210.png" VALIGN="top"> <script type="text/javascript"> new imageclock.display() </script> </TD> </TR> </TABLE> </DIV> Much appreciated! Hi there, I've been searching for an answer to this for the last few days but with no luck, so I thought I'd register here to see if anyone can possibly help. All I've been able to find everywhere for this is examples of changing images when rolling over them or clicking them, and I don't need that. What I need is a bit of javascript that will recognise some image paths on a page and replace those image paths with other ones. It's for an ecommerce website on a certain platform, using a customer reviews section which outputs star images based on the customer's rating. So, the images used (which look awful) are, for example, "sourcehere/stars_5.gif", "sourcehere//stars_4.gif", and so on. Just 5 of them. I want to design my own 5 images, upload those images, and then have the javascript replace the rubbish looking ones on the page with my own images. I thought I'd be able to find something quite easily, but so far all I can find is examples of mouseover events and so on, and I don't need any of that, just the entire image replaced with my own image. Can anyone help please? I'm a beginner with javascript so I'll need it spelled out to me! Thankyou for your time. Hey everyone! I'm in the process of creating a portfolio site for my artwork and I'm requesting help. The website has a scalable JQuery background which changes depending on which thumbnail you click. I've uploaded the progress he http://www.aldousmassie.com/newprogress I'm using this code at the moment to scroll through the background: Code: <!-- SCRIPT FOR CHANGING BG ON CLICK --> <script type="text/javascript"> imgs=Array("img/00.jpg","img/01.jpg","img/02.jpg","img/03.jpg"); var x=0; function change() { document.getElementById("bgimg").src=imgs[++x]; if (x==3) { x=-1; } } if (!imgs[x+1]) { x=-1; } </script> <!-- SCRIPT BELOW OVERWRITES SCRIPT ABOVE --> <script type="text/javascript"> imgs=Array("img/08.jpg","img/09.jpg","img/10.jpg","img/11.jpg","img/12.jpg","img/13.jpg"); var x=0; function change() { document.getElementById("bgimg").src=imgs[++x]; if (x==5) { x=-1; } } if (!imgs[x+1]) { x=-1; } </script> Unfortunately, the bottom code overwrites the top. Is it possible for each different background image to have their own "set" of images that could be scrolled through onclick? I'd appreciate any tips that point me in the right direction. Thank you. Please help have a look at the scripts... Where's gone wrong that whenever an image fades out into 0, it reappears before another image comes out? I've wanted to make the image disappear shortly before a new image is loaded. I've worked on this and played around with the scripts, yet no finding... Please do tell me if you know the answer to it. Thanks. Thanks Hi, I have very little JS knowledge, on a scale of 1 - 10 I would give me a 1, so apologies if I have this completely backwards. AIM: I have a form that takes in times a person was doing an activity, and you can enter multiple times & activities in one go. e.g. Person A | Lunch | 12:00 - 13:00 | Meeting | 13:30 - 14:00 I need the JS to validate that Activity B (Meeting in the above example) does not overlap with Activity A (Lunch in the above example). It also needs to check this for all activity's so that none overlap with each other else output error. I have managed to do this server side in PHP and will include the code as it may help show what I am trying to do better than Im explaining. PHP Code Code: $Code = $_POST['code']; $NumberofCodes = count($Code); $Start = array(); $_POST['starthr'] = array_values($_POST['starthr']); $_POST['startmin'] = array_values($_POST['startmin']); $i = 0; foreach($_POST['starthr'] as $key1 => $value1) { $Start[(int)$i] = $_POST['starthr'][$key1] .":". $_POST['startmin'][$key1]; $i++; } $Stop = array(); $_POST['stophr'] = array_values($_POST['stophr']); $_POST['stopmin'] = array_values($_POST['stopmin']); $i = 0; foreach($_POST['stophr'] as $key1 => $value1) { $Stop[(int)$i] = $_POST['stophr'][$key1] .":". $_POST['stopmin'][$key1]; $i++; } $i = 0; $j = 1; while ($i < $NumberofCodes){ while(($j-1) < $NumberofCodes){ if (($Start[$j] > $Start[$i] && $Start[$j] < $Stop[$i]) || ($Stop[$j] > $Start[$i] && $Stop[$j] <= $Stop[$i])) { //Stop form executing and provide error information. } $j++; } $i++; } JS Code (What I could manage) Code: var i = 0; var j = 1; var Start = new Array(); var Stop = new Array(); var aa = new Array(); var bb = new Array(); while (i < counter){ while((j-1) < counter){ Start[i] = document.myform.elements('starthr['+i+']').value + ":" + document.myform.elements('startmin['+i+']').value; Stop[i] = document.myform.elements('stophr['+i+']').value + ":" + document.myform.elements('stopmin['+i+']').value; var a = toDate(Start[i],"h:m") var b = toDate(Stop[i],"h:m") aa[i] = a; bb[i] = b; function toDate(dStr,format) { var now = new Date(); now.setHours(dStr.substr(0,dStr.indexOf(":"))); now.setMinutes(dStr.substr(dStr.indexOf(":")+1)); now.setSeconds(0); return now; } if ((aa[j] > aa[i] && aa[j] < bb[i]) || (bb[j] > aa[i] && bb[j] <= bb[i])) { //Fail validation } else { //Pass Validation } j++; } i++; } Any help on this would great.
