Hi, I am no very little when it comes to Javascript but I have seen a few sites using pre populated text boxes for login forms. So Username and password appears in the boxes to save space. The code below works fine onload of the site in all browsers, everything also works fine in firefox but ie the following doesn't seem to work. When a user clicks to enter their password in i.e. it doesn't change the form to password characters so input plain text. Also when you click out of either box it doesn't seem to re-populate the boxes with my Username or Password text. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Code: Hi. I have a JavaScript that resizes an image held within an Iframe. It works perfectly, BUT only works if there is an alert box in the code. /*Image resizing scripts - Dependant on page size!*/ /////////////////////////////////// function Im_Resize() { var imheight = 550; /*Change the IFrame CSS*/ iframeheight = imheight + 15; /* +15px for the x-axis scroll bar*/ var IFrame = document.getElementById('MainFrame'); IFrame.style.height = iframeheight + 'px'; alert('after iframe size - before im change'); /*Change the Image CSS*/ var innerdoc = IFrame.contentDocument || IFrame.contentWindow.document; Image1 = innerdoc.getElementById('MainImg1'); Image1.style.height = imheight + 'px'; } If I take the alert box out the code just doesn't work?? I thought that it was that during the loading of the page an element hadn't been loaded yet, but a delay doesn't work either. If I press 'ok' on the alert box too quick it doesn't work either. In terms of HTML this script is run whenever the page is loaded and is also fired when a click event is detected on one of the divs on the page. Any help would be great Ed Hey, I'm working on a script that uses a function (called on click) to change the content of a div (called description) within the page. It contains an unordered list and list items. The first one has the class "show" and the ID "1", the second with just the ID "2", and so forth. (see code below). I am using jQuery to control the onclick function. the jQuery gets the current object with the "show" class. If there is no show class, it takes the first. It then puts a variable string together that represents the UL LI that is needed to be shown. Code: var descurrent = ($('div#description ul li.show')? $('div#description ul li.show') : $('div#description ul li:first')); var desclass = '#description li#'+x; Note: x is a variable transfered from the function change(x); where x is the ID that is to be shown HTML CODE: Code:

blahblah

etc

The jQuery i'm trying to get to work is: Code: //Hide the current image descurrent.animate({opacity: 0.0}, 1000) .removeClass('show'); //Show new image $(desclass).addClass('show') .animate({opacity: 1.0}, 1000); Note: the class "show" has a higer z-index Thanks in advance, Hope this can be resolved soon, been giving me headaches! Cheers, John Hi there. I'm relatively new to coding in javascript, so I'm hoping that some kind souls could help me out! I'm trying to make an animated image height changer (example: changing an image's height from 50px to 500px). I'm working on a new web site using HTML5 and want to add some Flash-like animation to my page using javascript and . The animation would only need to "play" one time once the web page has loaded. No looping is required and no user interaction (ie mouseovers, etc) is needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If anyone knows of similar examples online please send me a link. If you're interested in helping, please let me know if more information is needed. Thanks. hey guys i downloaded the 'Content Slider v2.4', and this has a feature which will save a cookie used to remember and recall the last content viewed by the user when they return to the page. (click here for more information on the script.) the only thing is that this is made for pages with URLs such as: Quote: www.mysite.com/gallery_album_1/content.php but my URLS are set out like: Quote: www.mysite.com/content.php?gallery_album_1 is there a way to make to so the cookie remembers the page via the "php?gallery_album_1" part instead of the "content.php" part. i need it to be like this simply because i have multiple galleries coming from the oe page, eg: Quote: www.mysite.com/content.php?gallery_album_1 www.mysite.com/content.php?gallery_album_2 www.mysite.com/content.php?gallery_album_3 the main code of the js is as follows: Code: //** Featured Content Slider script- (c) Dynamic Drive DHTML code library: http://www.dynamicdrive.com. //** May 2nd, 08'- Script rewritten and updated to 2.0. //** June 12th, 08'- Script updated to v 2.3, which adds the following features: //1) Changed behavior of script to actually collapse the previous content when the active one is shown, instead of just tucking it underneath the later. //2) Added setting to reveal a content either via "click" or "mouseover" of pagination links (default is former). //3) Added public function for jumping to a particular slide within a Featured Content instance using an arbitrary link, for example. //** July 11th, 08'- Script updated to v 2.4: //1) Added ability to select a particular slide when the page first loads using a URL parameter (ie: mypage.htm?myslider=4 to select 4th slide in "myslider") //2) Fixed bug where the first slide disappears when the mouse clicks or mouses over it when page first loads. var featuredcontentslider={ //3 variables below you can customize if desired: ajaxloadingmsg: '
Fetching slider Contents. Folks I'm so in the dark about this that I couldn't even think of a sensible title for the thread! One of my colleagues reckons that some years ago she worked on a website that contained images that were set to be visible to users only between certain dates (different dates for different images, so an image representing January would be visible only during January, and so on). Does this sound like something familiar? If so, would it be done using Javascript? Thanks Remster I once bought some plans on the net and was sent a link that said I could open so many times or for 1 week, I cant remember exactly. But now I am doing a web site and need a link like that any ideas. I would prefer it to open only so many times.
Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum for posting, but i've been reading threads on this site for a few months now.. seems like a decent place to get info... so, hello everyone! My name's Will, (musical moniker on soundcloud / fb etc is StrangeFlow, i make electronic music, funk, hip hop, etc... ) ..I'm 25, I'm in Lansing , Michigan, my hometown (but still have residency in NorCal, where Im trying to get back to in a few months) I have some experience programming but i'm sure not as much as some of the experts on here i dont know if it's bad etiquette to post a question in my first thread but i have a good question that hasn't been able to get resolved, and I figured someone on here might have some good advice.. Does anyone on here use soundcloud? they have a really nifty timed-comments bar, you can check it out on any soundcloud music page... Ive started seeing it on vimeo recently, I think it's something thats starting to catch on. Anyway,, I had an idea for a website, but the thing is, it would require a timed-comments bar. But.. my problem is, since I'm not as much of an expert as some of the people on here, what would it take to program it? I'm learning some C#, and I heard it would be that or php.. but.. I don't know.. any advice on that timed comments thing? Any good points in the right direction would be extremely appreciated! Thanks everyone! I look forward to posting more in the future on this forum, and I'll gladly offer any of my advice on topics I am knowledgable. -StrangeFlow I need an timed button. When you come to site, you must wait in that site ?? seconds and then button comes pressable.
Hi guys. I'm trying this tutorial to get a sweet looking menu. http://snook.ca/archives/javascript/...ge-animations/ I've followed all the steps but I seem to be missing something, because the transition is just a simple hover transition. Can someone check what I'm doing wrong, please? Thank you very much! JS Code Code: $('a') .css( {backgroundPosition: "0 0"} ) .mouseover(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 -150px)"}, {duration:500}) }) .mouseout(function(){ $(this).stop().animate( {backgroundPosition:"(0 0)"}, {duration:500}) }) HTML Code: Code:

Untitled Document

Home

About

Contact

Styles code Code: ul { list-style:none; margin:0; padding:0; } li { float:left; width:100px; height:50px; margin:0; padding:0; text-align:center; } li a { display:block; padding:0; height:100%; color:#FFF; text-decoration:none; } li a { background:url(animation.jpg) no-repeat 0 0; } li a:hover { background-position:0px -150px; } Looks to me like this ought to work, but since I'm here obviously it doesn't. Regarding the HTML in question, there are divs and they do contain child elements. I'm trying to write this in as generic a fashion as possible, without using IDs or other means of targeting elements. And yes, the jQuery library is referenced/linked to the page. Any pointers much appreciated. Thank you First off, i have no idea what to do, because when i get beyond the realm of html/css, vb and php (some) i become lost. I hope someone can help me achieve this because i have no idea what i'm doing, and I've been at it for 2 weeks and no money to hire someone to do this for me. If you ever been in my situation, you know exactly how i feel. I have no code of my own to show you, but hope someone can still help me. I'm have a number 0.0000000, and every min i need that number to increase to 0.0000000, than to 0.0000002 and so on and so forth. Every time i click a button, whatever the number has risen to, it will reset it back down to 0.0000000. Can someone help me out with this? Hello, I am trying to have 4 different images change when the user hits the start button. The speed they change in is based on what selection they have chosen (fast = every second, med = 3 sec, slow = 5 sec), and this cycle repeats until the user has hit the stop button. However, I am struggling to get this to work and have looked around the web for help, but cannot find it.

Untitled

<input type = "button" value = "Stop" onclick + "Stop()"> Speed: Slow Medium Fast

I have not included any attempt of a code for the functions because I have tried at least 8 different things and have failed to get it to properly work each time. Also the array I set up does not work either. Thank you for the help and your time, Crimmm Hello, I am trying to create an image carousel for the website found here. As you can see everything works fine, however, I would like it to automatically scroll through the images every X seconds. Im needing some help with adding a timed delay for a widget I have on my website. My website is hosted on moonfruit, a flash based web builder, its very beginners level, and so this makes me feel like the new kid at school posting on this forum. however moonfruit does have a HTML/JavaScript snippet Which allows me to paste in code and show the cooliris gallery But is has become crucial to my websites completion that this widget must have a timed delay on it ive been at google for days till the point where im seeing the same pages again, and have come across setTimeout, unfortunately that's as far as I can seem to go, ive tried pasting in the code in numerous places and I just cant get it to work, i have pasted in other JavaScript codes, and they have worked, so i am convinced that its just me being a noob, other than it being a limitation on moonfruit I would appreciate any help with this Here is the code that im trying to get a delayed time of 10 seconds or so. [CODE] [CODE] Again any help is most appreciated |
