I am trying to pass a screen resolution parameter to a java applet so that it will appear in full screen mode when it launches. This is working fine in Firefox and Chrome but not in IE8. Here is the code:

Hi,

I've made a web based tool that times how long a web page takes to load in an iframe and today I redesigned it but now it has issues. When I load it in Chrome and Opera the new version works fine but in FF 3.6 and IE 8 only the footer area is displayed.

I am pretty new to Javascript having a bit of a problem with a website with Google Maps integrated. URL is http://beta.5vanmap.com. JS is in /js/map.js.

I have two checkboxes (ccCheck and caccCheck). The basis is when the box is ticked, it overlays a KML onto the map.

This is working fine in Chrome, but in FF and IE it doesn't work, IE returns 'ccCheck is Undefined'. The code I am using is in the JS file, the bit it gets stuck at is as follows:

If I stick a ccCheck = document.getElementById('ccCheck') within the onclick function (before the if statement), it places the overlay onto the map, but then when I untick the box it just stays there.

It's such a simple thing (I think), and must be down to IE being pedantic about declaring the variable properly, the question is how should I be doing this?

Internet Explorer requires the user to click on an applet to activate it, which means two clicks if there is a start button, for example. I previously learned a workaround, which is to activate the applet from an external Javascript, something like this:

First of all, I must say that I am recently introduced to JavaScript and I am not fully aware of its complete functionality.
So I have an HTML document which has defined within a its body a JavaScript function and I have also a JApplet class which is also loaded in the HTML and can call the JavaScript function. But I have also another Java class which is not an applet and I would like to find a way for this class to be able to call the JavaScript function (but it is essential for this class not to be an applet). I am aware that this would raise some security concerns but it is for local usage and I am interested to hear some ways if possible for this to be done. Thank You beforehand to all of you!

I have a Java Applet that I have been managing for some time. Approximately how long would it take to port a 900 line Java Applet to JavaScript? Hello again
today I am trying to figure out how to change or maybe even assign the arguments passed in a link.

Code:

As you can see from the code above clicking on the LINK would produce an alert box saying "The word you are thinking is cow" I need to find a way to use JS to change the passed argument 'cow' to something else like 'cat'

I need this to be a funtion and not an input box. I will be running this through a loop and the passed parameter will be changing so if I can just figure out how to adjust the argument from a function then I think I can figure out the next stem of my project

Hi all I'm having trouble with my XML news feed being displayed in IE. The JS calls the XML, and displays the relevent data on the homepage. This works beautifully in firefox, but fails completely in IE, what am I doing wrong?

In FF, the XML is read, and the corresponding data is entered automatically into the HTML document. Everything works perfectly. In IE, nothing seems to happen, no text is displayed and the image is just the broken link icon.

I assume I need to modify my ELSE statement somehow, but have no idea what to do! Unfortunately I cannot provide a link to the webpage, it has not been uploaded as it doesn't work yet.

Would really appreciate being told where I've gone wrong so I can correct the code myself.

Hello

I am relatively new to java script. The code I have behaves differently when I debug it and when I just run is straight.

There are three functions that one another in a particular sequence. When I debug it they get called in the correct sequence but otherwise they get called in a constant but random pattern.

I know this was here previously but no solution was found and I wonder if someone could help.

JavaScript loads before even DOM is fully loaded but only in Chrome browser.

I know I could use setTimeout function but it's now ideal in my case.

Hi again all, back with another hopefully easy question to fix.

I googled for the answer, but could not come up with a good response in terms of my own script on how to make the return code fields EXPAND to full length when pressed like they do in firefox and chrome.

Does anyone have a quick fix for this? It's all dynamically loaded except for the first 10 fields (Which i might as well take out anyway), so I'm thinking I have to put something in the javascript somewhere, just no idea what. Thanks a lot!

Hello,

I have used a free javascript from javascriptkit.com for a "highlighter scroller" in my site. But the programe is only working in Internet explorer. When i use Mozila or google chrome, it is not appearing/working.

Can anyone suggest me that how it will work in other browser also. here is the code that i used:

Hi every one, i'm new in this forum and also quite new in coding

i wrote some code to login and register with php, also using some function with javascript, everything worked fine also with chrome, but suddenly, without change of any code, chrome doesn't activate js functions while FF and IE do activate them.

can anyone suggest what could be the reason?

I am using javascript to change the buttons on my website so that they load up a different image when hot spots on the buttons are hovered over.

Everything has been working great, but this morning I tried checking out my site and for some reason the javascript wasn't working in Chrome, or on my iphone using Safari.
I tried it in IE and everything still works.

Any ideas on why it would stop working for those two browsers?
