JavaScript - Text Field Value Updates Select List
I've been tasked to create a form where the user types a numeric item id into a text field. Typing this numeric item id into the field will update a select list when the item id matches a select list value. Can anyone help me with this as I don't know where to start?

I have a form that has a pretty complicated combo box - a user starts typing text, it queries a database for matches, and displays the results to the user. The user can then select the match they desire and it has a value id, which I am currently sending to a hidden field in the form. So, for example: user starts typing in a movie name, Seven - it returns Seven and user selects it. The form submits the id of the movie seven (say 12) to a hidden field. Where I am stumped: Once a user selects a movie title, I have another drop down select box that is to display the available formats of the movie by querying my database based on the product id (12) and returning the available formats in the list: DVD BLUERAY VHS I am pretty good at programming, but I cannot figure this out - how to make the select box fire and return results once the value for the textbox has been captured. However, there's a link where you can add additional text fields to the page as well. When the link is clicked, the second text field is added successfully (field2), and when the link is clicked again, the third text field (field3) is added successfully. However, the third field does not add itself to the page, and the text for anything greater than a third field also isn't displayed after. Now, the issue I have is that I also have another input field (possibly hidden) in this form which is called 'category_id', and what I want it to do is to automatically populate when the user selects the relevant 'category' from the select field above. EDIT: Sorry - should also have told you that the 'category_id' is associated with the 'category' field above in the same database, DB1. Can anyone recommend any way of doing this? Hi, I'm hoping this will be an easy one for you experts out there. I am working on a convention registration form. What I'm trying to do is have the text "50.00" pop into the COST field when any text (even if it's only one character) is entered into the NAME field. If the text in the NAME field is deleted, the "50.00" should also be deleted. Does anyone have a script that does this? Thanks! I need to change all select lists options to "Shipped" if admin clicks on "Shipped" on top of the page and "Processing" if customer clicks on "Processing" link (<a href="javascript:select_processing()">Processing</a>) Can somebody help me in doing so? |
