JavaScript - Javascript For Onclick(html Attribute) Problem
i have the code:
foreach($product_names as $product_row) { ?> <tr> <td > </td><td width='200px'><?php echo $product_row->getName();?></td> <td width='200px'><input type="checkbox" name="graphic[]" value="<?php echo $product_row->getId();?>" onclick="check()"/></td> <td width='200px'><input type="checkbox" name="text[]" value="<?php echo $product_row->getId();?>" onclick="check()"/></td> </tr> <?php } ?> and a submit button on the page. the i also have the javascript code for the onclick="check()" : <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function check() { var graphics = document.getElementsByName("graphic[]"); for(i=0;i<graphics.length;i++) { if(graphics[i].checked) { if(document.getElementById('submit').style.display=='none') { document.getElementById('submit').style.display='block'; } } } var text = document.getElementsByName("text[]"); for(i=0;i<text.length;i++) { if(text[i].checked) { if(document.getElementById('submit').style.display=='none') { document.getElementById('submit').style.display='block'; } } } } </script> </head> so what all this means is i have two arrays of checkboxes for each product. as soon as i check any checkbox the submit button appears. i click on the submit button and i go to the next form. the problem now comes in if i click on the "back" button to go back to the previous page via the bwrowser..the submit button is disabled althou all my checkboxes that i checked, are still checked....i want the submit button to show??? please help?? thanks Similar TutorialsWhat I am trying to achieve, is a button that calls a function that changes the onclick attribute of that button, so that when it is clicked again, it resets the onclick attribute to call the default function. here is what the stripped down code looks like: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function remove_prep(a){ a.value="cancel"; a.onclick="cancel_remove(this);"; } function cancel_remove(a){ a.value="remove"; a.onclick="remove_prep(this);"; } </script> </head> <body> <input type="button" value="remove" onclick="remove_prep(this);" /> </body> </html> for some reason, it only fires once, after which it ceases to work properly. thanks for the help this part of my code is killing me. so i have a navigation bar and instead of clicking on it to another page on the site where everything reloads again i want it to just reload the content area, so i have 5 tables of content each representing a different page and i just want it this way so i can implement something else that doesnt have anything to do with this Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var page = 1; function setPage1() { page = 1; } function setPage2() { page = 2; } function setPage3() { page = 3; } function setPage4() { page = 4; } function setPage5() { page = 5; } function setBlank1(x) { if (page==1) { x.class="content"; } else { x.class="blank"; } } function setBlank2(x) { if (page==2) { x.class="content"; } else { x.class="blank"; } } function setBlank3(x) { if (page==3) { x.class="content"; } else { x.class="blank"; } } function setBlank4(x) { if (page==4) { x.class="content"; } else { x.class="blank"; } } function setBlank5(x) { if (page==5) { x.class="content"; } else { x.class="blank"; } } this is my javascript so whats supposed to happen is when someone clicks a link on the nav bar it sets the page to that value so only that value is showing. i put the functions setPage1-5 in class="setPage1(this)" according to what content area they go too Code: table.blank { display: none; that is my blank class attribute so its not there but its loaded please ask me any questions and sugest anything im not a javascript expert or anything of that sort but ive been looking this over for a couple days now and i cant find anything online either Hey Guys, Im a PHP developer and am quite new with javascript. I wanted some help on the hyperlink onclick event. Bascially I output a list of a href hyperlinks on a html page that goes all the way to the bottom of the screen. I wanted to add a onclick event to the a href tag that would pust the user right to the top of the page. I want to achieve this using javascript onclick event. Can someone plz point me in the right direction! Thanks, Ket HTML TARGET: Code: <div id="login_link" style="margin-top:-142px;margin-left:245px;height:142px;"> <img id="login_link" src="menu_button.png" /><a href="#"><img src="menu_button.png" /></a></div> </div> I'm trying to get menu_button.png to change to menu_button2.png on mouseover... I'd also like it to play a sound on click like "click.wav" I can't rename the div because it controls the slider Heres my current project table: http://bit.ly/dbwH23 I tried to put it in a span and have the span referance to the next tag but it didn't seem to work at least not in firefox. I'm going to keep lookin around but i'm not used to these types of code structure. I was thinking of Embeding a flash file inside the div instead but that might be overkill. Anyone know of a solution that might work? I have a web page with two forms, when I click the button on one of the forms, the onclick event goes to a javascript that emails the first form and then the second form. This is correct, this is the way I want this to work. It's simple, it's easy, it works! However, it only works in FireFox and Internet Explorer, it will not work in Google Chrome browser. I've spent many hours trying lots of various ways to implement this so I'm not interested in speculating about possible solutions that might work, I've already tried too many of those. Also, it needs to work this way, not combining the forms, etc. Does anyone have any tried and tested solutions that work with Chrome? Thanks, in advance, for your expert advice. I know I can always rely on EE when all else fails. I know somebody here can solve this problem. Thanks, Cross Using onclick=window.open function in js to open a pdf file link in a new popup window. Works fine to display the file onscreen, but not if the user wants to save the file client-side to their computer. The right-hand-button context menu for the mouse will allow the user to download, but the file saved will be a html dump file for the webpage and the name of the file will be that for the webpage. Of course I can use the easy <a href> method for download links and the mouse context menu options will be as expected, but I can only use target="-blank" or target="_self" . I need a popup window to open. Could use : oncontextmenu="alert('Left click the link to open, and then SAVE from with the pdf viewer') to advise users how to save the file, and could use "javascript: void(0)" to eliminate most mouse context menu options, so the user won't bother try. So how can I get a link to a file which can be viewed in a popup window and downloaded using mouse right-hand context menu? Any advice massively appreciated! $_SESSION['order']['paymentmethod'] equals "Cheque". With the code bellow, I was expecting JavaScript to change the SELECT drop down menu to "Cheque", but it doesn't... However, when I remove the OPTION attribute value="cheque/", it works. This appears to be because there is a conflict with the OPTION attribute value and the SELECT content value "Cheque". Does anyone know how I can get around this issue? Code: <FORM action="" method="post" name="form"> <DIV> <SELECT class="verdana" name="paymentmethod" onchange="this.form.action = this.value;"> <OPTION></OPTION> <OPTION value="cheque/">Cheque</OPTION> <OPTION value="visa/">Visa</OPTION> </SELECT> <BR> <BR> <INPUT type="submit" value="PROCEED"> </DIV> </FORM> <SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> document.forms["form"]["paymentmethod"].value = "<?php echo $_SESSION['order']['paymentmethod']; ?>"; </SCRIPT> I have an array of all links on a page (see var wa_links = document.links; below). How do I determine if the target of a link is set to "_blank"? I need to do this because currently with my code below, when a link has target="_blank" it ends up adding the Google Analytics code to the parent window and also opening a new window (so basically the new page opens in both the parent and target window instead of just the target window as expected). Code: /*Regex list of on-site domains, pipe and backslash delimited. */ var wa_onsiteDomains = /mydomain\.com|my2nddomain\.com|my3rddomain\.com|javascript/i; //Display-friendly domain and path name var wa_displayDomain = location.hostname.replace("www.","").toLowerCase(); var wa_displayPathname = location.pathname.toLowerCase(); /*Used to unobtrusivly add events to objects*/ function unobtrusiveAddEvent (element, event,fn) { var old = (element[event]) ? element[event] : function () {}; element[event] = function () {fn(); old();}; } function wa_crossDomainLink(i) { return function () { var thisLink = decodeURI(wa_links[i]); if (typeof(_gaq) == "object") _gaq.push(['_link', thisLink]); return false; }; } var wa_links = document.links; if ( wa_links ){ for(var i=0; i<wa_links.length; i++) { if( wa_links[i].href.match(wa_onsiteDomains) && !wa_links[i].href.match(location.hostname)){ unobtrusiveAddEvent( wa_links[i], 'onclick' , wa_crossDomainLink(i)); } } } With jquery I could just do something like... Code: if (jQuery(link).attr('target') == "_blank") ...but how do I do this in plain old JavaScript? Thanks! Do we have any alternative for orientation attribute of Td element in javascript for firefox? Below code works fine in IE but throws undefined in firefox: if(MyTd.orientation == "Vertical") //throws undefined { //Do something } The HTML for this Td is as follows: <td id="MyTd" orientation = "Vertical" ></td> Thanks. Hi, I have been attempting to transition to use of xhtml strict doctype and my text editor, BBEdit (on Mac) tells me, when I ask it to check syntax, that the attribute 'name' is not allowed in form object, as in any other form element that I tried to use it in. This begs the question, how do I script forms with javascript in the context of this doctype? None of the javascript texts I have address this issue (O'Reilly Rhino book and others). I could figure it out, but it appears to be a complicated process, just doing getElementById() and sorting it out. Does anyone have a reference to material that deals with this issue? Or do I just abandon xhtml strict doctypes? Thanks for time and attention JK Hi all, I have the following code: Code: <html> <head> <title>Page Title</title> <script type='text/javascript'> mymusic=[]; tracks=[]; mymusic=[{title:"a",artist:"b",artwork:"c",tracks:[{tracktitle:"d",trackmp3:"e"},{tracktitle:"x",trackmp3:"z"}]},{title:"f",artist:"g",artwork:"h",tracks:[{tracktitle:"i",trackmp3:"j"}]}]; function nowplaying(trackindex, albumindex){ q+="<html><head></head><body><p>Song:</p>"; q+="<p>"+mymusic[albumindex].tracks[trackindex].tracktitle+"</p>"; q+="<p>from Album:</p>"; q+="<p>"+mymusic[albumindex].title+"</p>"; q+="<img src=\""+mymusic[albumindex].artwork+"\">"; with(document.getElementById('nowplays').contentDocument){ open(); write(p); close(); } } function anything(i){ p=""; p+="<html><head></head><body><form><select onchange='parent.nowplaying(this.selectedIndex,i);' size='"; p+=mymusic[i].tracks.length+1+"'>"; p+="<option>Choose a song...</option>"; for(j=0;j<mymusic[i].tracks.length;j++){ p+="<option>"+mymusic[i].tracks[j].tracktitle+"</option>"}; p+="</select></form></body></html>"; with(document.getElementById('songs').contentDocument){ open(); write(p); close(); } } function showinitial(){ s=""; s+="<html><head></head><body><form><select onchange='parent.anything(this.selectedIndex-1);' size='"; s+=mymusic.length+1+"'>"; s+="<option>Choose an artist...</option>"; for(i=0;i<mymusic.length;i++){ s+="<option>"+mymusic[i].title+"</option>"}; s+="</select></form></body></html>"; alert(s); with(document.getElementById('albums').contentDocument){ open(); write(s); close(); } } </script> </head> <body onload="showinitial();"> <style type='text/css'> div { padding:0;margin:0; } .container { position:relative; width:100%; height:100%; } .topcontainer { height:65%; } .box { float:left; width:32%; height:90%; padding:5px; border:1px solid black; overflow:scroll; } .bottom { height:35%; border:1px solid black; } </style> <div class="container"> <div class="topcontainer"> <div class="box"><p>Albums:</p><iframe id='albums'>hi </iframe></div> <div class="box"><p>Songs:</p><iframe id='songs'></iframe></div> <div class="box"><p>Now Playing:</p><iframe id='nowplays'></iframe></div> </div> <div class="bottom"></div> </div> </body> </html> which, as you will see if you run it, creates an iframe-based media player based on a collection of albums, and songs within these albums (I just used letters to define these albums and songs in the mymusic array, for simplicity). Focusing on the top 3 iframes, the way I have set out the user interaction is to generate the HTML for forms of available albums and songs using Javascript, and write them to the iframes in the body. This nearly works fine: if you run it and make a selection in the 'Albums' menu, you will see that the options this causes to display in the 'Songs' menu correspond with the mymusic array, so this works. However, when I choose a song, the function "nowplaying(trackindex, albumindex)" should be called using an onchange event in the 'Songs' form, in the exact same way as in the form generated using "showinitial()"...but the function isn't called. I have ruled out the coding of "nowplaying" itself as a cause, because even when I change "nowplaying" to sth simple like alert("hello"), with no variables or anything being passed in, it still doesn't call. So this leads me to think the problem is with the onchange attribute in "anything", but I can't see what the problem is. The way I coded it is no different to before, and that worked fine, so why won't this work? Any help would be much appreciated! Hey all, 1) When clicking on a list in an accordion, it should change the quicktime movie playing in a main window area. It works in firefox but not in safari. The variable imgTitle holds the expected output (e.g. '../images/Intro-1.mov'). It changes the src attribute of the embed tag. This change works in Firefox where the new movie plays on click. However, when clicking the list item in safari, nothing happens. 2) There is a problem in firefox as well in that the movie overlays everything else on page, even though it should be behind the text. Positioning would be tedious given that there's many nested elements and I would have to set relative positioning to the entire page. Any reason for this behavior of embed tags? Code: $(".image_thumb ul li ul li").click(function(){ var imgTitle = $(this).find('a').attr("href"); var imgDesc = $(this).find('.block').html(); var imgDescHeight = $(".main_image").find('.block').height(); if ($(this).is(".active")) { return false; } else { console.log(imgTitle); $(".main_image .block").animate({ opacity: 0, marginBottom: -imgDescHeight }, 250 , function() { $(".main_image .block").html(imgDesc).animate({ opacity: 0.85, marginBottom: "0" }, 250 ); $(".main_image embed").attr({ src: imgTitle}); }); } $(".image_thumb ul li ul li").removeClass('active'); $(this).addClass('active'); return false; }) .hover(function(){ $(this).addClass('hover'); }, function() { $(this).removeClass('hover'); }); Thanks for response. Also, why is it that "form name" allows my code to work even though there is a warning stating that it is outdated, but when I change it from "form name" to "form id", it does not complain of the warning anymore, but instead my code does not work. Please advise. Hello, I am nearing completion on the modification of a Javascript/Html Order Form. The problem arises when I click on 'Submit Order' after filling in details and choosing a product. For some reason, the pop up box shows the correct product, but it shows the $ Total from the previous box in the table. My javascript code below should actually fetch the data from html table on button click. function displaymessage() { alert ("button pressed"); var table_cells = new Array(); var table7 = document.getElementById('Auth'); for (i=0,n=table7.rows.length; i < n ; i++) { var Rowdata = table7.rows[i]; table_cells[i] = new Array(); for(j=0,cols = Rowdata.cells.length; j < cols; j++) { table_cells[i,j] = Rowdata.cells[j].innerHTML; alert (table_cells[i,j]); } } alert (table_cells[1,1]); alert (table_cells[2,1]); alert (table_cells[3,1]); alert (table_cells[4,1]); alert (table_cells[5,1]); alert (table_cells[6,1]); alert (table_cells[7,1]); alert (table_cells[8,1]); } The problem with my code above is that the statement "alert (table_cells[i,j]);" executes properly and shows the correct value. But the other alert statements shows only the value of the last row of the table. i.e., my table has 9 rows. and all the alert statements shows 9th row's 2nd column's value outside the for loop. But inside the for loop it executes fine. I tried it in IE7. I seem to miss something. Could someone please help me out with this? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to develop a simple script that opens a link in a new window when the link has rel="external" set. What I don't want is to add onclick="newWindow();" to the anchor tag itself. Every example I'm finding though adds the onclick method to the HTML. Code: window.onload = newWindow(); function newWindow() { var anchors = document.getElementsByTagName("a"); for(var i = 0; i < anchors.length; i++) { if(anchors[i].rel == "external") { anchors[i].onclick = function () { return window.open(this); }; } } } Code: <a href="http://www.google.com/" rel="external">Click to open in new window</a> If anyone could help me or point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciateit. I assum the following html code: <div id="id1" onclick="click()">A<div> <div id="id2" onclick="click()">B<div> Do you know how to get ID = id2 when I onclick on A? |
