I have a three textboxes in a form. Using OnBlur, I am attempting to call a function to add one to an input textbox to add 1 to the cost. As the user enters text into textbox01, the number 1 appears in the input box about cost, as the user enters text into textbox02, the input box displays 2 and the user enters text into textbox03, the input box displays 3. My JavaScript is as follows: <script type="text/javascript"> //copies contents of first textbox to second textbox function copyValue() { var textbox1 = document.getElementById("textbox1"); var textbox2 = document.getElementById("textbox2"); var textbox3 = document.getElementById("textbox3"); var txtAttendee = document.getElementById("txtAttendee"); var input_A = document.getElementById("input_A"); textbox2.value = textbox1.value; txtAttendee.value = 1; input_A.value = 1; } </script> In the form I have this: <input type="text" id="textbox3" style="background-color:yellow" onblur="copyValue();" /> I would greatly appreciate ANY help with being able to calculate costs, perhaps using the JavaScript ++/-- operators. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. hi, i am using <input type = "file" id = "upload"> in my html page. i want to disable the textbox of this control so that user cannot type any file location here. user can upload file only through browse button. is there a way to disable this textbox thru javascript? thnx Hi! I just want to know how does it happen that when I scan the barcode using barcode scanner it will automatically put on the first textbox, then the focus will go to the next textbox and on the last textbox will automatically save the data to database. here is my sample form. I've been teaching myself HTML and CSS for a while, and now I've moved into the world of Javascript (but I'm still very much a beginner). For practice, I've been building a sample sign up form for a mock website, and I'm having problems with the birthdate section. The idea I had was to have MM, DD, and YYYY be the default values of my 3 textboxes (as an example for users), then set the value to nothing when the box gained focus. That all works fine, but I ran into problems when I tried to write an if statement to set the value back to MM, DD, or YYYY if the value was still nothing when the user clicked away. As it is now it just replaces the text inputted into the textbox (which of course is not good). Any ideas for what the problem might be? Code: <form name="signup" action="javascript:void(0);" method="post"> <table> <tr> <td>Date Of Birth:</td> <td> <input name="DOBmonth" type="text" value="MM" size="2" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOBmonth()" onBlur="restoreDOBmonth()" /> <input name="DOBday" type="text" value="DD" size="2" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOBday()" /> <input name="DOByear" type="text" value="YYYY" size="4" style="color: #555555;" onFocus="clearDOByear()" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td></td> <td><button name="Submit" type="submit" style="font-size: 1em;">Sign Up</button></td> </tr> </table> </form> <script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> <!-- document.signup.DOBmonth.value="MM"; document.signup.DOBday.value="DD"; document.signup.DOByear.value="YYYY"; function clearDOBmonth() { document.signup.DOBmonth.value="";} function clearDOBday() { document.signup.DOBday.value="";} function clearDOByear() { document.signup.DOByear.value="";} function restoreDOBmonth() { if ('document.signup.DOBmonth.value = ""') { document.signup.DOBmonth.value = "MM"; // alert(document.signup.DOBmonth.value); } } //--> </script> Another side question, if I set a variable equal to the value of a textbox, then change the value of the variable, does that also change the value of the textbox? or is the variable no longer associated with the textbox. Example: Code: var a = document.form.textbox.value; a = blue; does document.form.textbox.value = blue? or is var a now completely independent of the textbox value? Thanks! I am thinking this should be fairly easy but yet I am not getting far. I want to have a form with a single text imput field for a zip code. Depending on which zip code the user enters will determine which url they will be sent to. If they enter a zip code which is not in the script, they would be sent to a default url. I am also assuming this can be accomplished with javascript. Any help is greatly appreciated. I have a problem with adding new inputs to a form (if and when required), Internet Explorer is fine but in Firefox if any previous input fields are filled when the more button is clicked they get reset to blank. JS: Code: fields = 0; function addInput() { if (fields != 100) { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<input type='text' name='input[]' size='30' />"; fields += 1; } else { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<br />Maximum 100 fields allowed."; document.form.add.disabled=true;} } form: Code: <form action="index.php" method="post"> <div id="input"> <input type="text" name="input[]" size="30" maxlength="15" /> </div> <!-- button --> <div id="more"> <input type="button" onclick="addInput()" name="add" value="More" /> </div> <!-- // button --> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> as usual any help is appretiated .. What is wrong with my code? I am trying to move a div and it wont work at all. Also my little <a> fix is really sloppy. Could I have some help with how I should fix that too? Thanks! Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> var obj = document.getElementById("object"); var x = parseInt(obj.style.left); var y = parseInt(obj.style.top); function right(){ obj.style.left = "" + (x + 1) + ""; } function left(){ } </script> </head> <body> <a href="" onclick="right();"> <div id="container" style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:50%; margin-left:-400px; width:800px; height:600px; border:3px solid #808080;"> <div id="object" style="position:relative; top:559; left:379; background-color:#CCCCCC; width:40px; height:40px; border:1px solid #696969;"> </div> </div> </a> </body> </html> Hi, i want to set an input value to the same value as the input selected from another input on the same form so when the user selects input 1 i want the hidden input2 to get the same value im guessing i use onsubmit because its hidden so there wont be a focus or blur this would be part of the input Code: onsubmit="(this.value = this.othervalue)" othervalue being the other input name="othervalue" is that the correct syntax Hi there folks. I am a bit stuck with a little code. I am making a online yearbook entry and I wanted an image of myself animate/move from the top left hand to the bottom right of the screen. I also wanted to allow people reading it the option to change bg colour and text size - but I have managed to do those. The difficulty I am having is with moving the image, could anybody suggest any simple codes because I am new to this and don't want my head spinning before I go any further! Any help is greatly appreciated. I'm trying to create something like: http://www.deliciouslysortedibiza.com/ But I want the links to move like it does in there. Does anyone know the easiest way I could achieve this? Since I'm fairly new to Javascript and all. Thanks ! Hi, I'm noob , but i have nice idea i want to do it but i can't .. i tried many ways to do it .. but didn't work any of them .. the idea is move the foot to room no.1 .. but i want to see the foot moving on the red line to the room like this pic : Hello everyone. I am trying to make a flag with css and then move it with javascript. Code: <html> <head> <title>Flag</title> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="flag3.css" /> <script language="javascript"> Hmove=-100; function moveObjRight(obj) { obj.style.left=Hmove; Hmove+=4; if(Hmove<900) window.setTimeout("moveObjRight(" +obj.id+ ");", 0); } </script> </head> <body> <h1>The flag of ___ by www</h1> <div id="bar3"> <div id="bar2"> <div id="bar1"> </div> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </div> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> </div> <script language="JavaScript"> moveObjRight(bar3); </script> </body> </html> This is my code. The image is moving to the right, but i want it bounce from side-to-side in the browser window. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. Hello, I'm newbie in javascript, but i want to make an moving image. In time it should change to other image with other button. Also it could be changed by user. The change should be dynamic like moving from left to right. ^^ Any advices, tutorial links or smthing.. Thx I already looked at this http://codingforums.com/showthread.p...ht=moving+text thread and I know it's similar. I just don't know what I am doing wrong. My css puts the text where it needs to go, then the script is supposed to alter it's pixel position and so it should move, right? Code: <html> <head> <style> item1 {position: absolute; left:20px; top:280px;} item2 {position: absolute; right:20px; top:280px;} </style> </head> <body> <item1 id="item1" >item1</item1> <item2 id="item2" >item2</item2> <script type="text/javascript"> var i=0; var j=0; var obj1=document.getElementById(item1); var obj2=document.getElementById(item2); obj1.style.visibility="visible"; obj2.style.visibility="visible"; //if (typeof obj1.style.left!="undefined" && obj2.style.right!="undefined") //{ //loop from ParseInt to coordinates in center of screen for (i=0;i<100;i++) { obj1.style.left=parseInt(obj.style.left) + i + "px"; document.write("<item1 id="item1">item1</item1>"); document.close(); } //for (j=0;j<100;j++) // { // obj2.style.right=parseInt(obj2.style.right) + j + "px"; // document.write("<item2 id="item2" >item2</item2>"); // } alert(i); //} </script> </body> </html> Am I anywhere close? I am trying this on IE6 (I only have Windows 2000) and on Firefox 3.5.3. Hey guys, I was trying to make a Javascript game that moves an image across the screen randomly. Instead of executing properly, it just shows the image's starting point, and stops. No movement. Is there anyway I could fix this? Thanks, Fizz.
