JavaScript - Jquery Ajax Not Working In Ie. Help! Please
I have a page that has a simple AJAX call that works fine in firefox and chrome but not in ie. In IE my loading image shows up but the actual sourceURL never loads or shows. Below is my html and javascript code.

How it works is an image is clicked, and it fills the #selected div with content. The problem I'm having is the #selected div is always visible so the questions I have are 1. How do I get this to snap to the #selected Div and add a 1 second delay before the slideDown effect? 2. How do I get add a fade in effect so it becomes Opacity=0 -> slideDown -> Opacity=1 when it appears and Opacity=1 slideUp -> Opacity=0 when it transitions to the next? Hi there, I am trying to make a view that stacks images on top of one another. As the user uses mouseup or mousedown (+ LMB click) the user can scroll through the images. Hey guys I should preface this by saying that this is not for my own site, or my own code; a friend has gone on holiday and needed this project fixing while he was away. Unfortunately my experience with jQuery is almost nil and everything was coded by someone else, so I'm really tearing my hair out. This is a Wordpress installation running Thematic with two child themes, one of which uses Ajax calls to grab page content. The issue is that the Ajaxified calls stop the swfObject content from being loaded. It seems as though the jQuery calls are pre-empting the JS/Flash detection, so the swfObject code is never even written to the page. The actual custom, handwritten code (i.e. not from a library or a plugin) on this site is minimal, so I'm grasping at straws to fix this. Within the result I'm actually recreating the form for them to use if they want. I have a decent amount of jQuery that got initialized when the original page was loaded. Once I get my new form it doesn't work because it wasn't originally included in the page initialization. Is there a way just to call the document.ready function again to have it reinitialize my form elements again? Thanks in advance. What would be the best way to get data for a mobile site. I've tried using Jquery $.ajax to bring in the data from a php file. It seems to work however it takes some time to load without a way to really give a progress meter. I was wondering what the fastest way to do this would be. For instance it loads and loads then after a long while the alert(); pops up and the data loads into the page. Ultimately i was thinking i could use the ajax request to read in the data from the mysql database server, then transfer it to localstorage, im using HTML5 primarily for the development also just for reference. It does use Flash, but I think the issue is on the js side of things. I have added jquery.js and jqfancytransitions.js to the control. when i apply the effects dynamically it is working on local iis but the same coding is not working on iis server. but as soon as I set this to true. I doesn't work.... What am I doing wrong here? Hi, I'm trying to work through a head first book on ajax and javascript. I am also trying to emplement some of the codes in a small application I had built strictly with server side code. What it does is: two input fields for user defined values. Once the user inputs the two values, they are passed to the action page, some simple math is performed on these 2 values, and then 4 different resluts are displayed back on the action page. What I wanted was of course to make this asynchronous and display the results without a page reload. So, when I reworked the book code for my own use, and try to run the application, I get an error saying my url variable is undefined. The value of the first input seems to be passed though. One thing of note to mention is the application was written in coldfusion. The form values are passed using cf. Not sure if that matters. I mean cf works well with js and ajax, but maybe my original procedure doesnt work with my js code as it is now. What I am trying to do is if my first item "xmllink1" has some data, we break out and end it and now we can 'build some structures' ie.. onSuccess If xmllink1 doesn't have any valid data, we go to xmllink2 etc.. and so forth. Basically, when I get some valid returns.. I want to then exit out of the loop and then act on my data. But I need it in order so I know that my xmllink1 is not being in a race conditiona with xmllink2 etc.. But what is happening is I have simulataneous things going on and I get an onException (because one of the links doesn't resolve or has bad data) and that ends up killing my javascript. How can I test in order.. if link1 is good, great.. exit the "each method" and act on that data.. if xmllink1 is bad (onfairlure or onexception) lets go to xmllink2 etc.... any ideas? |
