JavaScript - Niftyplayer, How To Cause An Action When The Song Is Over?
Hi!
I'm using NiftyPlayer (http://www.varal.org/niftyplayer/) to play an mp3 on my website. I'd like it to refresh the page when the song is over (I have some php grabbing songs from a database and choosing the one to play at random). NiftyPlayer has two functions that are probably useful for this. First, if you have a link go to: Code: javascript:alert(niftyplayer('niftyPlayer1').getState()) It will display the current state of the player (stopped, playing, paused, finished). Presumably, a piece of javascript could poll this variable every second, and once it equals "finished", execute the redirect. However, I think this other piece of code included with NiftyPlayer would help even more. In the .js file, it says the following: Code: this.registerEvent = function (eventName, action) { // eventName is a string with one of the following values: onPlay, onStop, onPause, onError, onSongOver, onBufferingComplete, onBufferingStarted // action is a string with the javascript code to run. // // example: niftyplayer('niftyPlayer1').registerEvent('onPlay', 'alert("playing!")'); this.obj.SetVariable(eventName, action); }; So it would appear that I could use something like this to automatically refresh when the song is over: Code: niftyplayer('niftyPlayer1').registerEvent('onSongOver', 'location.reload(true)'); The problem here is that I have no javascript experience and have no idea how to implement either of these ideas. Help? Similar Tutorialsgood evening guys, i am new in JS ,so forgive my little knowledge, here is what i wanna do i have 10 songs in file ,i need to play them one after another when the page is loaded, and each time the page is loaded the playlist changes randomly (i dont want to play the same order of songs each time) so far i did a random array of the songs, each time the page is loaded, the order of the array will be change as well, but i don't know how to attach this array to the mediaplayer any idea plz ???????? here is what i did <script type="text/javascript"> var playlist = new Array(); var playlistnames = new Array(); var play = new Array(); playlistnames [0]="songs\play1.mp3"; playlistnames [1]="songs\play2.mp3"; playlistnames [2]="songs\play3.mp3"; playlistnames [3]="songs\play4.mp3"; playlistnames [4]="songs\play5.mp3"; playlistnames [5]="songs\play6.mp3"; playlistnames [6]="songs\play7.mp3"; playlistnames [7]="songs\play8.mp3"; playlistnames [8]="songs\play9.mp3"; playlistnames [9]="songs\play10.mp3"; var i=0; for (i=0;i<10; ) { var x = Math.floor(Math.random()*10); if (x != playlist[0] && x!= playlist[2]&& x!= playlist[3]&& x!= playlist[4]&& x!= playlist[5]&& x!= playlist[6]&& x!= playlist[7]&& x!= playlist[8]&& x!= playlist[9]&& x!= playlist[1]) { playlist[i]=x; play[i]=playlistnames[playlist[i]]; i++; } } </script> I have searched looking for a means to simply play a song using JavaScript and here is what I have found: Code: if (document.getElementById) var song = document.getElementById("media") else var song = document.all.tags("media") var playSong = "<a href='javascript:song.Play()'>a test<\/a>" document.write(playSong) Other JS sets the name and id of the song to "media". When I click on the written link nothing happens ... isn't the global function Play() built into Quicktime?? Hi - Im pretty new to all this! Have created a form on my website, uploaded database to server, but when the form is submitted - instead of opening the property selection, it just lists the Index of /home/properties and files within that folder. Can anyone help me please? Perky
Hi all, Can anyone point me in the right direction for some sample code that when the selection on a checkbox changes, either writes or removes some content? In this instance, when the checkbox is unchecked, I want more table rows and columns written with the relevant data within them. Then when checked, I want this data removed. You're nice enough to lend people a hand when you don't have to, and this makes the second or third time you've helped me solve a problem I've had with my website. Thanks so much. So I'm making a page where when someone clicks on the second drop list, then it carrys out a function first, and it calculates it based on what the first droplist is picked. Here's the code I have: Code: <html> <head> <title></title> <script type="text/javascript"> function first() { var gold = 4; var green = 6; var red = 30; var blue = 0; var total = 100; if (calculate.color.GetElementById('gold').select) { var depends = gold/total }; if (calculate.color.GetElementById('green').select) { var depends = green/total }; if (calculate.color.GetElementById('red').select) { var depends = red/total }; if (calculate.color.GetElementById('blue').select) { var depends = blue/total }; if (calculate.choice1.GetElementById('first').select) { calculate.results.value = 1 * calculate.howmany.value * depends; } } </script> </head> <body> <form name="calculate"> <table> <td> I need: <input type="text" name="howmany" /> <br /> My choice is: </td> <td> <select name="color"> <option selected id="gold">Gold</option> <option id="green">Green</option> <option id="red">Red</option> <option id="blue">Blue Charms</option> </select> <br /> <select name="choice1"> <option id="first" onClick="first()"> First </option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" align="center" valign="top"> You will need <input type="text" name="results" /> </td> </tr> </table> </form> </body> </html> Any help is well appreciated. I am using a form to collect and put the cookie, but I have to use two buttons to get the information stored and then direct the user on through to the rest of the site. My question is: Can I combine these functions into the same button? I have scoured the web for solutions, but I can't seem to find anyone doing this exact thing. I know that websites do this type of thing all of the time. Here is the code that I am using. I am an html / css person. I am just getting into js. It is ugly, but I'm coping Code: <body> <div id="header"> </div> <div id="main"><br> <h2><SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> cookie_name = "dataCookie"; var YouEntered; function putCookie() { if(document.cookie != document.cookie) {index = document.cookie.indexOf(cookie_name);} else { index = -1;} if (index == -1) { YouEntered=document.cf.cfd.value; document.cookie=cookie_name+"="+YouEntered+"; expires=Saturday, 31-Dec-2011 23:59:59 GMT"; } } </SCRIPT> <FORM NAME="cf"> Enter Your Full Name as you would like it to appear on the completion certificate: <br> <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="cfd" size="20"> <INPUT TYPE="button" Value="Enter" onClick="putCookie()"> </FORM> <h6>Select Continue to review the information</h6> <FORM METHOD="LINK" ACTION="cookie_2.htm"> <INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Continue with Training"> </FORM></h2> </div> <div id="footer"> </div> </body> Hello guys, so i have a problem. i have a css/div box, and i have a login form. what im tryn to do is make it so that when i login, it it takes whats in the action of the form and shows it in the div box. the div box is like one of those cool popup boxes, it's done by using javascript and css. anyway, the div box works. the login form works. i just haven't been able to figure out how to get it to appear in the div instead of into a new page. so if any1 can help that would be much appreciated! here's my code: Code: <head><link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="main.css" /> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="popup.css" /></head> <form name="Login" method="post" action="login/check.php"> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td>Username:</td> <td>Password:</td> </tr> <tr> <td><input name="myusername" type="text" class="txt" id="myusername"></td> <td><input name="mypassword" type="password" class="txt" id="mypassword"></td> <td><input type="submit" class="btn" name="Submit" value="Login" onmouseover='this.style.cursor="pointer" ' onfocus='this.blur();' onclick="document.getElementById('PopUp').style.display = 'block' "></td></tr> </table> </form> <div id='PopUp'> <br /> <div id="close"> <a id="link" onmouseover='this.style.cursor="pointer"' onfocus='this.blur();' onclick="document.getElementById('PopUp').style.display = 'none'"> <span id="span">Close</span></a> </div> </div> OK I basically have a form field called prepend and if someone enters something in there I want it to prepend to my form action="" how can I insert anything into action ="" depending on what is entered I hope this makes sense. I AM SO LOST <script type="text/javascript"> function SearchGo(){ var searchField = document.getElementById("SearchInput"); var url = "http://url" document.location = url + encodeURIComponent(searchField.value); } </script> //field where URL will be entered and needs to be prepended <input type="text" name="prepend"> //form output is here <form name="searchform" target="_blank" action="";> <input type="button" value="Search" onClick="SearchGo();"/> I need for the submission of an unvalidated from to reload the page to allow for php validation which, if passed, would use javascript to change the form's action to an external site. First, is the following approach sound? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> if(my_php_validation_ok == true) document.form.action="the_external_url" else document.form.action="current_page.php" </script> Second, how should the <form> action be styled to accomplish this? Hi, I'm trying to make a form that when you click "submit", the original page goes somewhere, and it also creates a popup for the action URL. Currently, I can get the popup portion, but the can't get the original window to redirect somewhere else. this is what I have in the head. Code: <SCRIPT TYPE="text/javascript"> <!-- function popupform(myform, windowname) { if (! window.focus) return true; window.open('', windowname, 'height=200,width=400,scrollbars=no'); myform.target=windowname; return true; } //--> </SCRIPT> And this is what I have in the body Code: <form id="update" action="update.php" method="POST" name="update" onSubmit="popupform(this, 'join')"> ok so all I want to do is allow a user to confirm that they've clicked the deactivate button...if they click 'ok' deactivate the affiliate...else just return to the list what is happening is I click on deactivate and the confirmation pops up (so far so good); if I click ok then it deactivates the affiliate the way it's supposed to - but if I click cancel it still deactivates the affiliate instead of returning to the list Code: <script type="text/javascript"> function confirmation() { if (confirm("Are you sure you want to deactivate this affiliate? Doing so will deactivate all of its users as well.")){ window.location = "affiliates.php?deactivate='.$_GET['deactivate'].'"; } else { window.location = "affiliates.php"; } } </script> any help is greatly appreciated! Hello, I'm trying to achieve what seems pretty simple, I have achieved both aspects successfully by themselves but together I have not I am trying to submit a form data via post, then I'm also trying to redirect I have got the window.location working I have the database writing working however I can't seem to get them to work sequentially I think the reason is that the post action redirects to itself, then the initial setinterval request is gone I try to do the sequential action this way Code: <a href=# onclick="document.forms['frm'].submit();redirect();">Submit</a> So, either the data posts and I'm stuck at the same page, or it redirects and the data doesn't post What am I missing? I read that to have multiple functions by one click, you separate them with a semi-colon as I have done I think as I mentioned that the key is the post to PHP_SELF which "nullifies" the redirect request eg. it never existed So what do I do? Also I'm not after the time interval, I was just trying to find a way for a user to be notified "Hey you're going to be redirected" by an alert (which I had this pop up working as well) then when they press okay, they are redirected. Ideally the user enters data, data is stored, pop-up, hit okay, redirect Thanks for any help Code: var c=0; var i=0; function timedCount() { document.getElementById('txt').innerHTML=c; c++; setTimeout("timedCount()",500); } function expand() { while (i<=10) { timedCount(); i++; } } For some reason the innerHTML number starts at 10 because of the while. I want it to start from 0 and stop when at 10... i'm trying to make a form where if 2 particular options are chosen from 2 dropdown boxes, it puts a value in a text field.
