JavaScript - Not Writing To Iframe?!?
Hi Guys
I'm struggling to find out why the iframe is not being populated with a selectbox containing the album names from an XML file. majority of the code is working fine and the "alert(s)" function works perfectly and displays exactly the html I would like it to but the bits in bold are not working and are not writing the html to the iframe. The page consists of about 10 different forms, which are all put together in a (string) variable named "compiledQuery" in a function named "compileRequest" which is activated via a button. I would like to print out this variable on the page so that the users can see the query for themselves. "frame_compiled" is the name of my iframe: Code: <iframe name="frame_compiled" width="400" height="125"> </iframe> I know that "compiledQuery" has been assigned a value (I used an alert with the value). Hence, I also know that the "prinRequest"-function works on principle... However, it seems as if I am having problem with retrieving the name of the iframe to the function (I tried doing an alert with the value, it was returned as null). So, I suppose my question is this: How do I properly retrieve the value of the iframe, and am I on the right way using document.write to show the value of "compiledQuery" to the users? Or should I use another way of doing this completely? I think I have looked through a hundred different tutorials and guides online, I just can't seem to find any hints to this problem... I've got a website which has 3 colums and is hosted on domain1.com. in the right column I've got an Iframe which loads content from domain2.com . this content are some textboxes and a datepicker tool. if I press the 'search'-button in this Iframe I would like to refresh the mainpage (from domain1.com) so that another Iframe appears in the middle column. in this column i would like to load a new form from domain2.com which contains the values that I've put in in the form from the right Iframe. Unfortunally I can't get this to work... Will somebody please help me? I have used iframes for my site and found various javascripts so when a person clicks on say the audio page he http://www.krillmeed.com/index.html it takes them to the audio page but will load it into the index.html page. I have a web page which will display another web page in an iframe. But the content inside the iframe may change while the user interacts with it so I need to be able to resize the iframe height from code on the page inside the iframe. Any tips on how I can do that? I have spent a very long time looking at it but I still can't figure it out. The problem is with line with <embed> tag. My purpose is to open a swf flash in a new popup window such that it must have a Pretty title name (instead of its addresss). Since opening that SWF directly does not leave me the option of change the popup title , so I use the above method... I appreciate much if you can help ! Am I missing something? I am working on a javascript for my blackberry. I am trying to capture the latitude and longitude of that phone. I am only able to test with Blackberry. I was trying to create a couple of variables with the "var lat =" and var lng =". With this script I get the alert window and when I click ok it writes "Your device supports ..." Thanks for any help! |
