JavaScript - Switch Statement Document.write No Showing.
Hi my goal was to archive a switch statement in javascript to check the users IE versions. Allowing me to switch my javascript code to which will only work in other versions. Yet I don't know if a switch would be appropriate in this matter. Any tips ore suggestions are more then welcome.

It is setting the price per inch based on the selection the user makes from a drop down menu. I need the correct section to work and for the else to not execute. After all, it never should, because there are only 4 options to choose from, and one of the 4 will always be chosen. If I uncomment the document.write lines after each option, things work o.k. So, what's going on? On a side note, has any ever gotten any kind of programming help from the chatrooms at Gogloom he http://gogloom.com/DIR?cat=84126&catdesc=Programming I ask because about three times I have gone there hoping to receive immediate help, but no one ever responds, hardly anyone chats, and yet the rooms are filled like with 300 and something users. I just find it odd and if nothing is wrong, how can so many people be so unhelpful? This is my first time here and hopefully when I have future problems I can count on returning here. I'm working on a website that will basically embed a widget/frame sent by a handler into a user's current page. The user basically adds a script tag to where they would like the HTML to be. The script tag has their settings and is basically a document.write that calls all the code that we want displayed. So here's my problem. We have a map that we need to add in a specific section, and to get the map we have to call another script tag. So we end up having a script tag (map) embedded in another script tag (the code for the widget/frame) or we end up having to document.write inside a document.write. Now this works just fine and as expected in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. However, Internet Explorer and Opera wait until the first document.write is completely finished before calling the embedded one. Of course the problem with this, is that it takes the map out of the document's flow and just appends it to the bottom left of the page. Since the rest of the page has already been called, there's no way to move the interior "map" script. Any ideas? Basically just trying to figure out how (if even possible) to render an embedded script tag in Internet Explorer and be able to place it properly. I've tried everything that I can think of, including AJAX and Google's unescape script. Any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Or even if you've encountered a similar problem, and know that it just isn't possible in IE or Opera, that would be fine too. Thanks in advance! My code is here and it works ... Hi i have a function (i wont write it out coz it is too long!) but after i have done the main calculations within this function i wont to display some of the variables in a table. i have writen: document.write( <table border="1"> <tr><td> Value 1 </td><td> document.write(a); //here * </td></tr> </table> ); were it says "here *" i wont to write within the table variable a (which i have defined properly in the function). However, as i have already written document.write it actually displays the text "document.write(a);" instead of the value for var a. Help asap please as it in for school soon! I know how to make a script that when you click on a button it changes a variable. I also know that with document.write I can express this variable but I do not know how to refresh document.write! You have this code in the computeBudget() function: Code: this.add((income * 52) / 12); (1) The value of this depends on what invoked the computeBudget function. You invoke it from radio buttons and from text fields. (2) You use a method named add( ) on each of these various fields. There is NO SUCH METHOD defined for either radio buttons or text fields. I have no idea what you intend to do with that value you compute (e.g., ((income * 52) / 12)) but you sure as heck can't add it to anything (unless you write your own method or function named add) and you certainly can't use it to any reasonable effect on this, especially when this refers to a radio button. Im creating a switch statement for this case, but dont know how to start - Create a Switch statement that tests the value of the partyType parameter. If partyType equals "D", store the following text string in a variable named barText: Code: <td class='dem'> </td> If partyType equals "R", barText should equal Code: <td class='rep'> </td> etc.. Thanks in advance. I have a series of videos which must be loaded dynamically on their pages which then get loaded into an iframe. I need to be able to load these videos using variables for the width and height. It's imperative that I use variables as the sizes of the movies will be determined by the user's resolution. I'm developing in xhtml so naturally, IE doesn't recognize the document.write statements and the page comes up blank in IE. It works flawlessly in FireFox (as expected). So, I need to replace the document.write statements with something else while still being able to pass variables for the movie objects height & width.
