JavaScript - Scroll Browser Page Javascript?
Hi to everyone!
Script first: Code: var allowscroll = 0 //Mouse scroll ____________________________________________________________________________________ function handle(delta) { if(allowscroll == 1){ if (delta < 0){ simgs1dest_x -= 30 } else{ simgs1dest_x += 30 } } if(allowscroll == 2){ if (delta < 0){ textdest_y -= 30 } else{ textdest_y += 30 } } } function wheel(event){ var delta = 0; if (!event) event = window.event; if (event.wheelDelta) { delta = event.wheelDelta/120; } else if (event.detail) { delta = -event.detail/3; } if (delta) handle(delta); if (event.preventDefault) event.preventDefault(); event.returnValue = false; } if (window.addEventListener){ window.addEventListener('DOMMouseScroll', wheel, false); window.onmousewheel = document.onmousewheel = wheel; } I'm using this script to scroll two divs, which each activates self scrolling onMouseOver and onMouseOut deactivate scrolling by setting allowscroll varible to 0. And everything works fine, but this script doesn't allow to scroll browser entire page! So is there a script wich will scroll browser page when allowscroll is equal to 0? Similar TutorialsI made this webpage. It runs with a simple javascript function that changes the content in the window when you click on the menu buttons. the only problem is there are no vertical scroll bars when viewed in any browser. There seems to be a place for them but no actual scroll bar. I tried modifying the color and such with cs but it didn't change anything. please help the site www.star1on1tutoring.com here is all the code starting with the html, then the css, and the two javascript pages [code] <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> <link href="assets/css/main.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/java/global.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="assets/java/menu.js"></script> <link rel="icon" href="assets/images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"/> <link rel="shortcut icon" href="assets/images/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon"/> <title>Star 1 on 1 Tutoring</title> <meta name="description" content="One on One tutoring for individuals and small groups in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. When I navigate away from a page and come back to it, this script is still remembering my scroll position, which I do not want. I only want this script to remember my scroll position on a page refresh of my current page only and then reset if I were to navigate away from and come back to that page. How would I go about modifying this script to work how I want it to? Thanks in advance for any help given. Greetings, I am currently using the websites tutorial about browser detection using the navigator. http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatutors/navigator.shtml I am however finding myself unable to detect a pattern in order to learn from. My aim is to use Browser detection to have a CSS file for each browser type, such as Firefox, IE, Opera, Safari and then an overall CSS file if none of the above, to fix numerous flaws. For IE and Firefox using the site's code is all well and good and while I haven't tested it yet I'm wondering how to set up the coding so that it can detect a safari browser. There are lots of slashes and d's and brackets and I do find myself unable to understand their purpose. So if someone can explain how I could do it for Safari I would be very appreciative. Hello, I have a question what is the best way to identify a browser, browser version and OS in javascript. I have try a few scripts but they all fail. This will help me out formating the code for diferent browsers. Thanks hello i use this script, and its working so far. except i want the element to stick to the bottom not the top.. http://javascriptkit.com/javatutors/static3.shtml i am a absolute java-noob and if anyone has a hint for me, i would be happy i already tried to rename some words to bottom, but this doesnt work (ie iebody.scrollTop to iebody.scrollBottom) thanks a lot, regards florian I am trying to find some examples of something I know I have seen in the past, but I am unable to put together a search that is coming up with anything. What I have is a div of content that I need to always be visible on the screen. The page needs to be scrolled to read through it all so I need a way for the div to move down the page as I scroll. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Hello, I have an image scroll on my site that uses JavaScript. Each individual image/slide can be linked to a url. My problem is that it opens a new window when you click an image, and I want it to simply open the new link in the same window. Here is what I have in the head section: Code: <script language="JavaScript1.1"> <!-- var slideimages=new Array() var slidelinks=new Array() function slideshowimages(){ for (i=0;i<slideshowimages.arguments.length;i++){ slideimages[i]=new Image() slideimages[i].src=slideshowimages.arguments[i] } } function slideshowlinks(){ for (i=0;i<slideshowlinks.arguments.length;i++) slidelinks[i]=slideshowlinks.arguments[i] } function gotoshow(){ if (!window.winslide||winslide.closed) winslide=window.open(slidelinks[whichlink]) else winslide.location=slidelinks[whichlink] winslide.focus() } //--> </script> Here is what I have in the body: Code: <script> <!-- //configure the paths of the images, plus corresponding target links slideshowimages("images/scroll-logo.jpg","images/scroll-natingredients.jpg","images/scroll-ucoriginal.jpg","images/scroll-organic.jpg","images/scroll-uckick.jpg") slideshowlinks("healthprogressives.html","faq.html","index.html","faq.html","index.html") //configure the speed of the slideshow, in miliseconds var slideshowspeed=5000 var whichlink=0 var whichimage=0 function slideit(){ if (!document.images) return document.images.slide.src=slideimages[whichimage].src whichlink=whichimage if (whichimage<slideimages.length-1) whichimage++ else whichimage=0 setTimeout("slideit()",slideshowspeed) } slideit() //--> </script> Thank you~ Hi, This is my plan. I want to create a 3x3 grid on the page. Each square needs to be the height and width of the page. I will then use jquery scroll.to to move the grid, dispalying a different square to the user. Am I right in thinking that I wont be able use 100% width and 100% height in my CSS for the single box, since there are actually going to 8 squares that are off the page? I am guessing therefore that I should use javascript to take the window width and height, and then use this value to create each of the gridbox's. Is this the right way of doing it? I am using the JavaScript Image Scroll found on http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/ja...mage-scroller/. I would like to make it so that the images loop with no gap, it has a view demo on the site which you can see here; http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorials/ja...mage-scroller/ Many Thanks, Tim Hi, I have this simple code for gallery on my page. And everything working fine but when i click on small picture to change big picture if I'm page scroll up to top of page. So i scroll to the gallery change picture ad page scroll up to the top. I am trying to find a script that allows you to open multiple browser tabs and then close each of those tabs, either one by one or all at once. Does anyone know how to do this please? Thanks so much for your help. I am using the below script on http://bubbles4urtroubles.com. Because I made the bubbles larger than the ones used in the original script, the horizontal scroll bar displays some of the time, then turns off. Is there any way to just not have the horizontal scroll bar? Also, how would I set the zindex so the bubbles are always in front of everything else. The first code will send the user to the browser home page if using IE. Code:[[a href="about:home">home</a>]] The second code will send the user to the browser home page if using Firfox. Code:[[input type="button" onclick="if (window.home) window.home()" value="Home">]] Both codes work in their respective browsers, but can they be combind. As the man from Tesco's says "Every little helps". Regards, Dingbat I need to be able to ensure that an html page will always load up in a particular browser. Let's say IE. Changing the default browser settings in the registry is horribly complex, and, besides, I don't want to override the user. That is, I envisage a javascript function on page load that checks which is the default browser in the user's machine. If it is IE, fine - page loads normally; if not IE, the page somehow forces a load in IE. Can it be done? I realise that you can make shortcuts that load up IE first and then a particular page, but that method has shortcomings: specifically the shortcut target below won't work in Windows 64-bit (and I must have a single shortcut for this task - not one for each Windows version). "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -k "C:\Program Files\myfolder\README.html" So, I'm forced to try to do it in javascript from within the html page itself. Is it possible? Hi all, How could I make a web page redirect if the user is browsing in Internet Explorer 9. Thanks in advance. ~Ben I have code that I've been using for awhile now that will automatically log users off my site after a period of time. It works great using a 32 bit browser but not at all with a 64 bit browser. For the life of me I can't figure this out. <script type='text/javascript'> var secondsRemaining = 30; var mhcTimer; function countDown() { secondsRemaining -= 1; if (secondsRemaining <= 0) { secondsRemaining = 0; window.location='login.aspx'; } } function startAutoLogoff() { if (mhcTimer) { return false; } else { mhcTimer = setInterval('countDown();', 1000); } } startAutoLogoff(); </script> |
