JavaScript - Simple Java Script Form Question
Hello, I am trying to create simple Java Script form that will open a URL based on the contents entered into the form.
The form shall consist of only a text box and submit button. A user will enter XXXX in the text box and click submit. The form would then load a URL consisting of http://www.company.com/XXXX I know this can be done because I had a code like this a few years back but I have lost it. I've been searching for over an hour, trying to figure this out. Any help would be grately appreciated. Thanks! Similar TutorialsHey, so I have successfully used this tutorial; http://articles.sitepoint.com/articl...y-javascript/3 to create a web page that "smoothscrolls" down to a certain point of content on the page. So, I know the java works! My problem is, I have changed the website to be along the X axes and not the Y, so instead of it scrolling "down" the page, I would like it to scroll from left to right. i.e on the X axes not the Y. Is there anyway of doing this by editing that java file? All my buttons work and display the correct part of the website, but the java doesn't work slidiing sideways. Thank you in advance! Darren Hi all, I have finished a program for an assigment the varibles num1,num2,num3,num4 are the final result of the calulation that i needed to preform. I can document.write these no problem. I just read the assigment and I have to create an unordered list with bullets from the results The only way i could think of doing it was to create variables so I can enter them in the list, can I do that? [var num1 =("You were born on a " + weekday[usersInputDate.getDay()]+'.','<br />'); var num2 =("You are "+(ageofUser.toFixed(2))+ " years old.<br />"); var num3 =("You are "+(usersAgeinDays.toFixed(0))+" days old.<br />"); var num4=("You have lived "+(usersExLife.toFixed(0))+" % of an average lifespan.<br />"); <ul> <li> ('num1') </li> <li> ('num2') </li> <li> ('num3') </li> <li> ('num4') </li> </ul>] How do i write this to the screen as [<li> num1 </li>] doesnt work neither does [<li> 'num1'</li>]. Does the <ul> function only read the string entered or can it run the variable assigment ? Thanks all Shayne Darcy. Help... I have a quick Java Script question... Code: http://www.agelessoverview.com/beta/order-now.html People are screwing this up and even changing the number... So here is my question... is there a small snippet of java script I can use in the source page or iframe that will automatically fill in the Sponsoring Distributor ID:, while at the same time, blocking the input from being changed and also block the 'I don't have a sponsor' radio button? I am trying to make a 1 page store that allows you to type in an item and select the color and size you want for that item. If you don't fill in a field, an alert message should tell you that. If all the fields are filled in, a "thank you for purchasing ____________" message should appear in a text area at the bottom of the page. This is my current code: Code: <html> <head> <script> function processform() { if ( document.form1.item1.value == "") { alert("No Item Chosen") } else { chosen = "" len = document.form1.c1.length for (i = 0; i <len; i++) { if (document.form1.c1[i].checked) { chosen = document.form1.c1[i].value } } if (chosen == "") { alert("No Color Chosen") } } else { itemname = document.form1.item1.value; itemcolor = document.form1.c1.value; itemsize = document.form1.size.value; document.form1.txtarea1.value = "Thank you for purchasing a " + itemsize + " " + itemcolor + " " + itemname; } } </script> </head> <body> <h1>Store</h1> <br/><br/> <form name="form1"> <h4>What item would you like to buy?</h4> <input type="text" name="item1" value="" /><br /> <br/><br/> <h4>Color</h4> <input type="radio" name="c1" value="blue" /> Blue<br /> <input type="radio" name="c1" value="red" /> Red<br /> <input type="radio" name="c1" value="green" /> Green<br /> <input type="radio" name="c1" value="yellow" /> Yellow<br /> <br/><br/> <h4>Size</h4> <select name="size"> <option value="small">Small</option> <option value="medium">Medium</option> <option value="large">Large</option> <option value="extra large">Extra Large</option> </select> <br/><br/> <button onclick="processform()">Purchase</button> <br/><br/> <textarea rows="2" cols="40" name = "txtarea1"> </textarea> </form> </body> </html> When I press the purchase button, no alert message is shown, nor does anything get displayed in the textarea. What am I doing wrong? Hey everyone, I'm new here so be gentle I ran into a website called livethesheendream.com when the whole charlie sheen drama was going on. I really liked the way the simple site was designed and would like to create something similar to the layout but totally different topic. My question is, can someone modify the script so that when someone clicks on the image or if they click on the "quote" it will show the next quote BUT in the order I want it to be, for example... it will start with "1" when the open the page, then when you click the picture or "1" it will show "2", then "3" and so on. I will write out all the quotes and have the user just click next, next, next. I hope that makes sense. I copied and posted the source code i got from livethesheendream.com if that helps. PM me if you need to, I will be online most the day. Thank you to anyone who can help me! Thanks Hello all, As I am new to java scripts, I usually solve thing with trial and error. What I need is a very simple java script for a count down timer, after searching here I found this: ---------------------- Code: <font style="font-size:72px" color="#FF0000" face="Arial"> <script type = "text/javascript"> var page = "http://www.google.com"; //The page to redirect to function getSeconds() { startTimer (3); // 36 hours } var timeInSecs; var ticker; function startTimer(secs){ timeInSecs = parseInt(secs); ticker = setInterval("tick()",1000); tick(); // to start counter display right away } function tick() { var secs = timeInSecs; if (secs>0) { timeInSecs--; } else { window.location = page; // stop counting at zero // and start again if required } var hours= Math.floor(secs/3600); secs %= 3600; var mins = Math.floor(secs/60); secs %= 60; var result = ( (mins < 10) ? "0" : "" ) + mins + ":" + ( (secs < 10) ? "0" : "" ) + secs; document.getElementById("countdown").innerHTML = result; } </script> <body onload = "getSeconds()"> <span id="countdown" style="font-weight: bold;" ></span> ----------------------------- I modified some stuff, as I defined the font face and size, the color as well, and I added a var to open a certain page when the time is over (as I said before, all these modifications came right with trial and error). So, is that script good? or are there better scripts that do the same job? And, can someone please provide me with a script that does the same functionality of the script I mentioned but instead of showing digits it shows: 01 minutes 31 seconds ? Thank you so much. hi i want to implement this java script . This is the Original Java script page . The price of a ticket to a passenger on AOU-Airways is computed based on the following table: [9] Class Price First Class KD 300 Economy Class (with meal) KD 150 Economy Class (without meal) KD 130 Using nested if statements, write a JavaScript code which will work according to the following specifications: a. Read the class that the passenger wants to travel on. b. If the class is the first class, print the price of ticket. c. If the class is the economy class, ask the user if he/she wants a meal on the flight. Then print the price of the ticket according to the response of the passenger. The program should simply accept one possible strings the user enters; it is not required to work for all possible inputs such as First, first, FIRST or Yes , yes, YES. |
