JavaScript - Help Adding Check Boxes To Equal Total Sum

I'm a real newbie I don't know much javascript but I understand more or less the logic behind it... tell me if this solution should work and if you know how to do it please show me. I have this page. http://felixdeportu.com/5/ The images are inside a div#content div#photo. I need to make div#photo's width to match the total width measurement of all the images it contains. If you load the page and you don't touch the size, it will work fine... but that's not realistic. If I resize the page, which will happen often on this kind of page (I'm assuming), the whole thing goes haywire (try it, scroll to the last image and resize the page you'll see what I mean). Below is what I am trying to do but it doesn't work. If the first input field is selected and user enter amount greater than the TotalGift, alert will pop-up then and the amount entered by the user automatically added to the TotalGift. So what I wanted to do is to subtract the amount entered to the TotalGift so it will go back to the original amount before the addition occurs. I have 3 check boxes and one submit button when the submit button is hit I need it to direct to one of 3 pages depending on which check box is checked. can anyone help with this Thanks! Currently I am trying to take the values of 2 or more select boxes, add them together and then update a text field each time a selection in one of the select boxes is made. Basically, I am trying to keep a running total. Currently I have it set up so that onchange it grabs the selected value. The problem is that it is being processed as a string I believe. For instance, if there are two variables, a=111 and b=222, the output in the text field reads 111222. I tried using parseInt, but that just returns NaN (not a number?...just a guess). I have seen this solved with if statements, grabbing the selected index # and then assigning an integer, but I am hoping there is an easier way. Again, your help is appreciated. As you can probably see I am trying to set the start point of a jquery carousel to equal a variable that I have created. You can see I have tried " start: secondstartpoint", but this isn't working. I think possibly because the way the plugin is formatted so that the "start" option can only equal a number. Can anyone shed some light on this issue and perhaps even suggest a solution?
