JavaScript - Detect When Javascript Has Finished Constructing The Page

Hi I am trying to trigger an event once the user clicks the browsers back/forward buttons, I have built a system just like facebook where if the user has javascript turned on they get the full feature of the site which includes fast switching for example if someone goes to this page "example.com/index.php" and click a link to contact.php it would change the url to "example.com/index.php#!/contact.php" but what I need to know is if there is any way to change the pages content when the user goes back and forth through the fast switch pages? something like "history.back !== -1" or something like that.

I'm new to using regular expressions with javascript. I'm trying to search a string for instances of a substring with a particular prefix, followed by some numerical digits.

So for instance my larger_string is:
"This is a string ABCD12 EFGH124 ABCD76 EFGH90"

And initially I want to find all substrings starting 'ABCD', with two following numerical digits.
I can do it like this: var answer = larger_string.match(/ABCD\d\d/);
But I'd really like to pass the 'ABCD' part in as a string itself, myString, as I'd then like to set myString to 'EFGH' and others, to repeat the search for those.

I'm struggling with the syntax for creating a regular expression froma string.

So I can do this:
var reg = new RegExp("ABCD", "g");

but, this doesn't work:
var reg = new RegExp("ABCD\d\d", "g");

and similarly I can do this:
var myString = "ABCD";
var reg = new RegExp(myString, "g");

but, this doesn't work:
var myString = "ABCD\d\d";
var reg = new RegExp(myString, "g");

What is it that I'm doing wrong here?

Hey there guys, i have a client who wants to make a school system on his website, now i've done that, however what my client wants is to put wmv files inside every lesson and he wants to be sure that the user who has registered to the online school WATCHES fully all the wmv and then redirect him to a quiz page where he will take a test.

My client wants to be sure that the users are watching the wmv files before doing any quiz.

SO is there a way where i can know when the wmv file has FINISHED playing so that i would redirect them to another page??

Hey guys, finished my first javascript assignment and was wondering if anyone could confirm it works. I get weird syntax errors on my comp but others have said that it has worked for them, so i'm wondering if anyone else can confirm this. The syntax errors are all claiming that my functions being called in my buttons are not defined, however they clearly are, so i'm thinking it might just be something weird with my machine/browser. I am Aditya. I am explaining below the exact scenario where I need the help:

I am developing a web application in which I need to integrate a javascript/html editor on some of the web pages and then provide 'Edit' buttons on those web pages so that users can edit the content on that partciular html/jsp page (like editing in wiki pages) and then, when they add some content and click on submit button, the new content should appear on the web page with all the formatting (i.e. bold, italics, color and so on) which was applied by user when he was entering the text.
Now, I need help for the below issues:
1. Please suggest me a good javascript/html editor (freely downloadable) which I can use to integrate with my web pages.
2. Once the user has entered some content using the above javascript editor, how to make that content reach the server and update the corresponding web page.

I am new to web development, so may be that these questions are too simple.
But, I need some help from you.

The Javascirpt is the Facebook Share button that basically allows users that have Facebook to share the page there currently on in their Facebook status by pressing the button, but if there not logged in it shows the login page, not a problem just continue the script.

If that could be done, and if this also is possible.. i would like for the "Share" button on the external page that is loaded from the Javascript code above to be clicked automatically so in effect when ever someone visits the PHP page after clicking "Click Here to Watch/Stream 2012 Online For Free" on this page it will automatically load the Facebook Share box, and automatically click the "Share" Button and then close the page if possible, but not required.

I really want to learn a way determine whether custom fonts via @font-face got downloaded by the client machine and then set styles differently depending on whether they got the fonts or not.

To start I could run a fonts-inactive.css file to setup the styles to look nice without custom-fonts (this is the base style which should look fine without any JS, flash, custom fonts, etc.).

Then run a JS that will run the font-face-rules.css (which attempts to load the fonts via @font-face css rules) - this way if JS isn't active then no fonts will be loaded and the document will default to its fonts-inactive.css.

If the JS does run then font-face-rules.css will try to send the fonts. So the JS needs to somehow determine whether the fonts worked or not.

If the fonts worked then the JS would run the fonts-active.css which would alter some style rules to make the page look better with the custom fonts (since we know they got the fonts we can tweak the page a little to look better with them).

If the fonts didn't work then the JS needs to not run the fonts-active.css and instead just exit out leaving the document with its original, unaltered rules from fonts-inactive.css. (since we know they didn't get the fonts we leave them with the baseline stylesheet which optimizes the appearance for default fonts).

Sadly I don't know the first thing about Javascript so I am hoping that you guys might be able to help me come up with something that works.
