JavaScript - Getting Quicktime Plug-in To Work With Ie 8
I'm running my web page on IE8+9 with Windows Home via Boot Camp.
My JS code is: Code: if (QuicktimeIsPresent) { var song = PlaySong('200', '50', '#9cceff', 'false', 'false', 'tunes/taps.mov') document.write (song) } The JS code for PlaySong is: Code: function PlaySong(width, height, bgcolor, autostart, loop, songloc) { var play = '' if (songloc == '') return play // default values ... if (width == '') width = '200' if (height == '') height = '50' if (bgcolor == '') bgcolor = '#FFFFFF' if (autostart == '') autostart = 'true' if (loop == '') loop = 'false' play = '<OBJECT NAME="Midi"\n' + ' ID="song"\n' + ' CLASSID="clsid:22D6F312-B0F6-11D0-94AB-0080C74C7E95"\n' + ' CODEBASE="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab"\n' + ' WIDTH="' + width + '" HEIGHT="' + height + '"\n' + ' LOOP="' + loop + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="bgcolor" VALUE="' + bgcolor + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="autostart" VALUE="' + autostart + '">\n' + ' <PARAM NAME="filename" VALUE="' + songloc + '">\n\n' + '<EMBED NAME="song"\n' + ' PLUGINSPAGE="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/"\n' + ' TYPE="audio/x-midi"\n' + ' WIDTH="' + width + '" HEIGHT="' + height + '"\n' + ' LOOP="' + loop + '"\n' + ' BGCOLOR="' + bgcolor + '"\n' + ' AUTOSTART="' + autostart + '"\n' + ' SRC="' + songloc + '">\n' + '</EMBED>\n\n' + '</OBJECT>\n' return play } For IE8+9, the quicktime crescendo/midi control shows .. but when I click the play button on it, it almost immediately stops. Other Windows browsers(Firefox and Safari and IE 7) play just fine, together with all Macintosh browsers. I really need some help here ... thanks in advance. BTW, here's the link. Hello, I am trying to build a jukebox online. I use a quicktime plugin, the reason for this is that windows media player wouldnt work in firefox. I can now work the plugin with javascript to make it stop play pause and fast forward to a song, thing is i cant make it to play another song. in all sources i looked at , this piece of code should be what i am looking for : document.getElementById('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); well, that in any case wont work for me, then there was another piece of code wich should go in the embed part wich is this: QTNEXT1=myparty.mp3 in firefox it has the effect of opening the myparty.mp3 on another page in wich the quicktime plugin will show but cant find the song, in internet explorer it just simply give's the error "page is ready but with errors". can anyone help me to understand what goes wrong, what would fix it or a simpler way to embed a large amount of songs onto a website? hoping to hear something soon this is the code /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE = "JavaScript"> function PlayIt(movname) { movname.Play(); } function StopIt(movname) { movname.Stop(); } function rewindIt(movname) { movname.rewind(); } function SetRate(movname, rate) { movname.SetRate(rate); } function SetTime(movname, time) { movname.SetTime(time); } function VolumeIt(movname,v) { movname.SetVolume(v); } document.getElementById('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementByName('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementById('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(1,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementByName('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(1,'music/myparty.mp3'); </SCRIPT> </head> <body> <embed hidden="false" autostart="true" loop="-1" controls="largeconsole" height="25" width="100"></embed> <body> <br><br> <a href="#" onClick="StartVideo()" ;>startvideo</a><br> <a href="#" onClick="PlayIt(movie2)";>functie</a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.Stop()">Stop</a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.Play()">Play</a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.SetRate(1.0);">SetRate(1.0)</a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.SetRate(2.0);">SetRate(2.0)</a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.SetVolume(100);"> SetVolume(100) </a><br> <a href="javascript:document.movie2.SetVolume(255);"> SetVolume(255) </a><br> <br> <object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab" width="180" height="160" id="movie2"> <param name="src" value="music/camaro.mp3"> <param name="Autoplay" value="false"> <embed width="180" height="160" src="music/camaro.mp3" QTNEXT1=myparty.mp3 name="movie2" enablejavascript="true" autostart="false"> </object> <br> <SCRIPT LANGUAGE = "JavaScript"> document.getElementById('movie1').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementByName('movie1').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementById('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); document.getElementByName('movie2').SetQTNEXTUrl(2,'music/myparty.mp3'); </SCRIPT> <br> <br> http://userwww.sfsu.edu/~infoarts/te...avascript.html </body> </html> /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Hello i'm trying to play just the first few seconds on a quicktime movie then stop. if the user scrolls, I replay - Im doing this to reshow the image that seems to go away when scrolling. I hope it is, and it doesn't seem to far-fetched or impossible. With JS, how would one go about checking if a user has DivX Web Player installed? Usually people put in code within the embed, so if it the player doesn't load, it would have the message behind stating the fact. However I haven't seen this used at all with DivX, instead, you see pop-up boxes, whether installed or not, stating "Don't have DivX Web Player? Get it here for windows or mac" I find this extremely annoying, and would never want such informalities on my website. Hey guys, im pretty new to using Jquery and coding period. i came across a problem with the .scrollto plug-in and i have searched up and down for an answer and none would really solve the problem. im trying to run .scrollto to jump from one div to the next with a smooth animation in a horizontal website. this is what the head tag looks like so far <script src="scripts/jquery-1.3.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script src="scripts/jquery.scrollTo-1.4.2-min.js"></script> <script src="scripts/jquery.localscroll-min.js" type="text/javascript"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function() { $.localScroll(); }) </script> i tried removing either local scroll or scrollTo and see if there was a conflict but that wasnt the case. ive seen the script run on a webpage without having to add $.localScroll(); to every link, right now it just doesn't move at all. any help would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if it is possible to use Javascript and HTML to access video+sound input so a user can use a webcam on a site without the need for flash/plug ins? Trying to figure this one out but not finding any good starting points yet. Not even sure if it is feasible. I've recently downloaded this Firefox plugin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...utofill-forms/ It has a feature called dynamic tags which do the following functions using Javascript: <datetime> new Date().toLocaleString() <useragent> navigator.userAgent <langcode> navigator.language <resolution> screen.width+'x'+screen.height <clipboard> this.getClipboardText() I was wondering if a JavaScript code exists that could get the value of "nation=" for links like the one below [url]http://m.nationstates.net/?nation=NATION_NAME_GOES_HERE Any help would be appreciated and if I'm off my rocker feel free to tell me so When my page loads, it automatically jumps down as if it were jumping to a named anchor. It's more apparent on longer pages (doesn't replicate if page fills screen). Happening in Win FF/IE/Chrome Disabling stylish-select.js (from http://www.prismstudio.co.uk/2009/05...x-replacement/ where he used to allow comments but not anymore) fixes it, but I don't know enough Javascript to debug, would really appreciate if somebody could have a look. Good example at http://studiohodson.com/projects/Bea...restaurant.php Script is at http://studiohodson.com/projects/Bea...lish-select.js Thank you thank you! Hello all, I made a fade script that will fade any element in or out. Works great on all browser I've tested but IE 7. With IE I have only tested this will IE 8 and IE 7. IE 7 the effect doesn't work. No error message or anything. I'm unsure what to do from here. I was hoping I could find some help here. Code: function fade(obj, duration, toggle) { steps = 1000; elem = document.getElementById(obj); function fadeIn() { for(var i = 0; i <= 1; i+=(1/steps)) { setTimeout("elem.style.opacity = "+ i +"", i * duration); setTimeout("elem.style.filter='alpha(opacity="+ i * 102 +")'", i * duration); } } function fadeOut() { for(var i = 0; i <= 1; i+=(1/steps)) { setTimeout("elem.style.opacity = "+ (1-i) +"", i * duration); setTimeout("elem.style.filter='alpha(opacity="+ (1-i) * 102 +")'", i * duration); } } /* One for Fade in and anything will be fade out*/ if(toggle == 1) { fadeIn(); } else { fadeOut(); } } Thanks, Jon W hello, I found this script : http://roshanbh.com.np/2008/06/accor...ng-jquery.html I implemted this into my website http://test.tamarawobben.nl but as you can see it don't work. Why is this happening? Hi there! I'm completely new to javascript coding, but have suddenly found myself in need of using it. here's a little background (helps me keep track of where I am in my question). I've been "playing" with php for quite a while, and I decided I wanted to see how hard it would be to code a fairly simple forum. So far, everything is working out with very little need for bug fixes and some efficiency suggestins from a friend. I'm currently building the registration page, and wanted to have it compare the password and verification while the form is being filled. I found a code to do it after a few searches, but evidently I am missing something about how it works. This is the code I found: Code: <script type='text/javascript'> function comparePasswords() { if(document.getElementById('pass1').value != document.getElementById('pass2').value) { $('passwordShow').innerHTML = 'Passwords do not match'; } else { $('passwordShow').innerHTML = ''; } } </script> This is the full code for the form I am trying to use it in: Code: <?php echo "<script type='text/javascript'>\n function comparePasswords()\n {\n if(document.getElementById"; echo "('pass1').value != document.getElementById('pass2').value)\n {\n $('passwordShow').innerHTML"; echo " = 'Passwords do not match';\n }\n else\n {\n $('passwordShow').innerHTML = '';\n"; echo " }\n }\n</script> "; echo "<form action='index.php?pg=verify' method='post'>"; echo "<table align='center' style='color: #C0C0C0'>"; echo "<tr><td>Username:</td><td><input type='text' name='user' /></td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td>Password:</td><td><input type='password' name='pass1' /></td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td>Re-enter Password</td><td><input type='password' name='pass2' onkeyup='comparePasswords();' /></td></tr>"; echo "<tr><td>Email<br />(used for password recovery)</td><td><input type='text' name='email' /></td></tr>"; require ('questions.php'); echo "<input type='hidden' name='source' value='reg' />"; echo "<br><center><input type='submit'/></form>"; ?> What am I not understanding about this? I know we've all seen those text fields where when you type in am HTML tag it changes color! Example: <div> blah blah blah blah </div> I know that there is no flash involved, so how does it work? |
