JavaScript - Mouseover On Definition List Effect
There is an effect I would like to do but I don't know how it is done. To see something like it go to: http://www.schillmania.com/ then mouseover the right side items under "most recently".
It seems like there is a dt link which when mouseover occurs the dd data is presented. Any ideas on how it is done? Anyone have an idea how to make this work? Many thanks I have gotten my script to do exactly what I want it to do with one exception. I have some thumbnail images that people can mouse over and the actual image is 100px by 75px. That is what I use for my thumbnail and they reside in www.website.com/images/thumbs/image1.jpg. I have the large version of the image that resides in www.website.com/images/image1.jpg. Its actual size is 640px by 480. When I mouse over my thumbnail, I don't want the thumbnail to appear for the larger image, I want the large image to appear instead? Let me know if you need ellaboration. Any help would be great! I'm currently building a website and trying to integrate a javascript image 'tranisition' effect into mm_swapimage and failing. My knowledge of Javascipt is limited but without knowing the 'arguments' for mm_swapimage, it's impossible (looks similar to vb, but can't find an answer anywhere) I want the effect to work on a 'timed' event rather than 'OnMouseOver' so have added script to change that (which is probably the issue!) I can get both to work idependantly but not together. I've simplified the page and pasted the code below, as it stands the 'effect' works, but it only uses the primary image, not the other image in the array. I'm using DW CS4 and the transition extension is called FlevOOware. I have pairs of terms and short definitions in a table. I want to display a longer definition in a box below the terms table when the term is clicked on. The box needs to disappear if clicked on. I have gotten the id of the element to work appropriately, but using the funtion defines it as the last cycled variable definition. I need to populate a second drop down list (Region) based upon the selection of the first (County). I have found a piece of code that works on its own and have adapted to suit my needs - see below. However, when I drop it into my main page the javascript is not working. It's because of the formObject but I just don't know enough to resolve this! Furthermore, I need the textboxes the user has already completed in the form to retain their value once the javascript kicks in as the completed form will submit to a database. I have spent considerable time all over the WEB and at this forum which addressed the issue in a 50 page thread. Please see: http://codingforums.com/showthread.php?t=50666 I got a lot of ideas from this thread but still cannot figure a way to do the following within the Jukebox. These are my main two questions for everything below: 1. How can I have the Jukebox cycle through all tunes and then start over from the beginning? 2. How can I allow the user to select a tune from a list but not a drop down list, have the Jukebox start from the user’s selection and then play all songs to the end. Then as in #1, start over from the beginning? Per this thread I came away with basically two ways to assemble the jukebox. One uses links in a drop down list which the user can choose from. The other is to use an .m3u playlist. The user can only select a “playlist” from the drop down. Below, I have included the code for each Jukebox. To see the Jukeboxes in action please go to my website where I have posted some test pages exhibiting the jukeboxes that I am referring to. The following is the Jukebox which utilizes an .m3u playlist. If I end up using this idea I would like the tunes in the .m3u playlist to be displayed and allow the user to be able to choose a tune in the list. Then have the list play to the end of all tunes in the list. Then start over from the beginning of the list. After this code is the .m3u playlist. Another idea I found on the WEB also uses an .m3u playlist. The good thing about it is that it lists all the tunes in the playlist which the user can then select from. This jukebox calls up an entire Windows Media Player. I am using ASP.NET and AJAX here. basically what I want is a nice little slide effect to show the next batch of images in a mini slide show. Example: << prev [image1] [image2] [image3] [image4] Next >> << prev [image5] [image6] [image7] [image8] Next >> so when the user presses next or previous, it will SLIDE to the left/right. the databinding is done at the server side end and in an update panel so it does an async postback when they press next/prev. how can I go about doing this type of effect?
