JavaScript - Javascript Non Working Properly (multiple Forms Interferring)
I made a php page with multiple forms with javascript code in it.
The javascript makes an input field for the date. The problem is that the script interfers between other scripts in the other forms and i get wrong orderdate. Code: <form action='dataadd.php' name='$id'>"; $datestime=time(); echo "<input type=hidden name=dateid value='$id'>"; echo "<input type=hidden name=datestime value='$datestime'>";?> <script type="text/javascript"> DateInput('orderdate', true, 'yyyy-mm-dd')</script>.... Similar TutorialsHi, I am having a strange problem. I have a javascript that I am running on my system and on server(both in IE and FF). The problems I am encountering are as follows: My system IE - everything working fine FF - Not able to set focus correctly. When focus() is called, it jumps to next field. On Server IE - Focus doesnt set as expected. No blinking cursor.Doesnt do anything. FF- Same thing as above. When focus functionality is called, nothing happens. It is a long javascript, but here is a snapshot of the code with problem. Please let me know if you want to know about any variables. The (fname,lname..)are all the Name attributes of textbox. userArray is a array containg the number of users whose information is not filled up correctly(ie. some reqd fields are left empty). Code: df=document.form; for(var j=0;j< val;j++) { if(df['fname'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['fname'+userArray[j]].focus(); break; } else if(df['lname'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['lname'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['ph'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['ph'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['email'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['email'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['comp'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['comp'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['addra'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['addra'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['city'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['city'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['state'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['state'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['zip'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['zip'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } else if(df['country'+userArray[j]].value =="") { df['country'+userArray[j]].focus();break; } } The code is definitely not clean, pls forgive me for that. Any suggestion on that will be appreciated. Thanks Hello, i am a total newbie, so forgive me i have the following problem: a Joomla Gallery uses a javascript to show fullsize images. but when the popup windows comes out, it doesn't have any properties (page title, url about:blank, blank background etc) here is a screenshot: I think the following to be the code that calls the popup: what's wrong? NOTE I already had to remove some "spaces" from the code because the Joomla SEF was changing the urls forbidding the right execution of everything, maybe it's something like that... dunno  Code: $htmltext2 .= "<script language=\"JavaScript\">"; $htmltext2 .= "function pgpopup(pgimagefile, pgimagetitle, pgimagedescription) {\n"; $htmltext2 .= "var newWindow = window.open(\"\",\"newWindow\",\"height=" . "\" );\n"; $htmltext2 .= "var imageurl = \"<img src= \"+ pgimagefile + \">\";\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.open();"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(\"<div align='center' >\");\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(\"<title>Profile Gallery Image: \"+ pgimagetitle + \"</title>\");\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(imageurl);\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(\"<br />\");"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(pgimagedescription);\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.writeln(\"</div>\");\n"; $htmltext2 .= "newWindow.document.close();\n"; $htmltext2 .= "}\n"; $htmltext2 .= "</script>"; break; anyone can help? thanks! I have an "animated slideshow" of 29 jpeg images on a page created using Javascript. It works fine in Internet Explorer and Firefox but not Safari or Chrome. I have tried implementing the the two together but when I use the javascript to call the new window the data from the original form is not passed over! - this is what I have so far... example 1 - using onclick command (http://www.nctfleetlist.co.uk/eg1.php) Code: <script> GB_show(caption, url, /*optional*/ height, width, callback_fn) </script> <form name="form1" action="test_script.php" method="post"> <input type="text" name="var1" value=""> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit" onclick="return GB_show('Search', 'http://www.nctfleetlist.co.uk/test_script.php', this.href)"> </form> example 2 - using onsubmit within the form tag (http://www.nctfleetlist.co.uk/eg2.php) Code: <script> GB_show(caption, url, /*optional*/ height, width, callback_fn) </script> <form name="form1" action="test_script.php" method="post" onSubmit="return GB_show('Search', 'http://www.nctfleetlist.co.uk/test_script.php', this.href)"> <input type="text" name="var1" value=""> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="submit"> </form> example 3 - using a javascript link to submit the form, adding a "rel" tag (http://www.nctfleetlist.co.uk/eg3.php) Code: <script> GB_show(caption, url, /*optional*/ height, width, callback_fn) </script> <form name="form1" action="test_script.php" method="post"> <input type="text" name="var1" value=""> <a href="#" onclick="document.forms[0].submit()" rel="gb_page_center[720, 300]">Search</a> </form> Any help is appreciated! Sorry the code example might be a little long but it's repetitive and should be easy to understand. http://jsbin.com/eyeke4/13/edit My real code has 12 examples and not 3 but for the sake of this I had to shorten it as much as possible. When you go on there and preview it, you Select a level, then select a hero, then select 3 items and hit click me. This will give you a result of statistics. Now my problem is all the way on the right you will see all 3 values of AP are added together. In the last column alone. The thing about it is if you change item #1 and item #2 it does not update properly..to update it you MUST change the last item each time, which is inconvenient. The way it works is : daap1 = iap1[isi1]; daap2 = iap2[isi2]; daap3 = iap3[isi3]; totalap = (daap1 + daap2 + daap3); $(".tap").html(totalap); Pretty much like this in a nutshell. if I were to put $(".tap").html((iap1[isi1] + iap2[isi2] + iap3[isi3])); it works perfectly fine. But I need to use the variable totalap in formulas. How do I make it so things always update properly without the user having to do inconvenient things like always having to reselect the last dropdown? In my main code I have 12 total, 6 and 6 split apart, for me to currently get accurate info I must reselect the 6th and 12th item every single time. Any help on how I could achieve this would be very much appreciated, do I need a database or something? I don't mind what I need as long as it would work perfectly. Thanks in advance. Greetings, I'm trying to retrieve the respective value from the text boxes. Unfortunate the value i retrieve and added always point to the first text box. Can anyone out there help me with these. Thanks in advance. Code: <td align='center'> <input name='txtQty[]' type='text' id='txtQty[]' size='5' value='$od_qty' class='box'/><br></br> <input type='image' name='btnAdd' src='library/cart add.png' onclick=\"document.getElementById('txtQty[]').value++;\"/> <input type='image' name='btnSubtract' src='library/cart remove.png' onclick=\"document.getElementById('txtQty[]').value--;\"/> <input name='hidTpcd[]' type='hidden' value='$od_tpcd'/> </td> Regards, Juz Hi all - I'm having difficulty with the processing of 3 forms on my web page. We'll call my 3 forms A, B, and C. By default my page shows form A. The other 2 forms I have hidden via display:none My issue is when I have form B or C showing. Once I hit submit, say within form B for example, I'd like this form to remain for future entries/submital of data. However, instead what happens is form A appears. How do I get form B to remain, allowing for a user to submit multiple entries of data without going back to form A? Here's my code for form 'B' <div id="branches_info" style=" <?php echo $display_branches; ?> "> form method="post" action="annual_report_main.php" onsubmit="return validateBranches(this);"> <fieldset> <p><strong>Branch Location</strong></p><br /> <label for="branch_address" class="long">Street Address:</label> <input maxlength="50" type="text" name="branch_address" id="branch_address" value="<?php echo htmlentities($_POST['branch_address']);?>" /><br /> <div class="cleaner"></div> <label for="branch_city" class="long">City:</label> <input maxlength="20" type="text" name="branch_city" id="branch_city" value="<?php echo htmlentities($_POST['branch_city']);?>" /><br /> <div class="cleaner"></div> <label for="branch_state" class="long">State:</label> <input maxlength="2" type="text" name="branch_state" id="branch_state" value="<?php echo htmlentities($_POST['branch_state']);?>" /><br /> <div class="cleaner"></div> <label for="branch_zip" class="long">Zip Code:</label> <input maxlength="10" type="text" name="branch_zip" id="branch_zip" value="<?php echo htmlentities($_POST['branch_zip']);?>" /><br /> <div class="cleaner"></div> <div class="content_onecolumn"> <input type="submit" name="Branches" value="Submit to Database" class="inputSubmit" /> </div> <div class="content_onecolumn"> <input type="button" name="Finished" value="Finished" class="inputSubmit" onclick="window.open('https://www.dca.ca.gov/webapps/bppe/thankyou.php');return false" /> </div> </fieldset> </form> </div> Hello There! Here's the code for the script. I've tried to comment it as much as possible to make it easy to understand. Code: //define variables //Get current time var currentTime = new Date(); var hours = currentTime.getHours(); var minutes = currentTime.getMinutes(); //First period var period1 = prompt("Please enter your First Period Class","Ex: Science"); console.log ("First period is: " +period1+ "." ); //Second Period var period2 = prompt("Please enter your Second Period Class","Ex: PE"); console.log ("Second period is: " +period2+ "." ); //Third Period var period3 = prompt("Please enter your Third Period Class","Ex: Language Arts"); console.log ("Third period is: " +period3+ "." ); //Fourth Period var period4 = prompt("Please enter your Fourth Period Class","Ex: Math"); console.log ("Fourth period is: " +period4+ "." ); //Fifth Period var period5 = prompt("Please enter your Fifth Period Class","Ex: MSI"); console.log ("Fifth period is: " +period5+ "." ); //Sixth Period var period6 = prompt("Please enter your Sixth Period Class","Ex: Band"); console.log ("Sixth period is: " +period6+ "." ); //Seventh period var period7 = prompt("Please enter your Seventh Period Class","Ex: History"); console.log ("Seventh period is: " +period7+ "." ); //If minutes are less than 10 add zero before number if (minutes < 10){ minutes = "0" + minutes; } //Add a blank Line console.log (); //Show Current time console.log ("Current time is " + hours + ":" + minutes); //Define variable time var time = (hours + "." + minutes); //Before School if (time >= 0.01 & time <= 7.40) console.log ("School hasn't started yet."); //After School if (time >= 3.20 & time <= 0.00) console.log ("School is over."); This is all that i've gotten so far. My question is: Can I combine these functions into the same button? I have scoured the web for solutions, but I can't seem to find anyone doing this exact thing. I know that websites do this type of thing all of the time. Here is the code that I am using. I am an html / css person. I am just getting into js. It is ugly, but I'm coping Code: <body> <div id="header"> </div> <div id="main"><br> <h2><SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> cookie_name = "dataCookie"; var YouEntered; function putCookie() { if(document.cookie != document.cookie) {index = document.cookie.indexOf(cookie_name);} else { index = -1;} if (index == -1) { YouEntered=document.cf.cfd.value; document.cookie=cookie_name+"="+YouEntered+"; expires=Saturday, 31-Dec-2011 23:59:59 GMT"; } } </SCRIPT> <FORM NAME="cf"> Enter Your Full Name as you would like it to appear on the completion certificate: <br> <INPUT TYPE="text" NAME="cfd" size="20"> <INPUT TYPE="button" Value="Enter" onClick="putCookie()"> </FORM> <h6>Select Continue to review the information</h6> <FORM METHOD="LINK" ACTION="cookie_2.htm"> <INPUT TYPE="submit" VALUE="Continue with Training"> </FORM></h2> </div> <div id="footer"> </div> </body> I have been looking around on the webs but have not found anything. I can find how to add multiple fields, but what if they reside on different forms on the same page? Is this possible? I have 2 tables with Add/Remove Row buttons. The first table's Add Row button adds a row that belongs in the second table, and the Remove Row button gives me an Object Error. The second table works properly. The JavaScript for both tables is identical except for the ID's. When the tables are put into seperate html files both of the Add buttons work properly, but the remove row button from table one is still giving me the Object Error. Can someone point out what i'm doing wrong? Thanks. Code for the first table Code: <SCRIPT language="javascript"> function addRow(kodaktable) { var table = document.getElementById(kodaktable); var rowCount = table.rows.length; var row = table.insertRow(rowCount); var cell1 = row.insertCell(0); var element1 = document.createElement("input"); element1.type = "checkbox"; cell1.appendChild(element1); var cell2 = row.insertCell(1); var element2 = document.createElement("input"); element2.type = "text"; cell2.appendChild(element2); var cell3 = row.insertCell(2); var element2 = document.createElement("input"); element2.type = "text"; cell3.appendChild(element2); var cell4 = row.insertCell(2); var element2 = document.createElement("input"); element2.type = "text"; cell4.appendChild(element2); var cell5 = row.insertCell(2); var element2 = document.createElement("input"); element2.type = "text"; cell5.appendChild(element2); var cell6 = row.insertCell(2); var element2 = document.createElement("input"); element2.type = "text"; cell6.appendChild(element2); } </script> <script> function deleteRow(kodaktable) { try { var table = document.getElementById(kodaktable); var rowCount = table.rows.length; for(var i=0; i<rowCount; i++) { var row = table.rows[i]; var chkbox = row.cells[0].childNodes[0]; if(null != chkbox && true == chkbox.checked) { table.deleteRow(i); rowCount--; i--; } } }catch(e) { alert(e); } } </SCRIPT> <INPUT type="button" value="Add Row" onClick="addRow('kodaktable')" /> <INPUT type="button" value="Delete Row" onClick="deleteRow('kodaktable')" /> <TABLE id="kodaktable" width="350px" border="1"> <TR> <tr> <th></th> <th>Job Name</th> <th>Job Number</th> <th>Start Doc</th> <th>End Doc</th> <th>Total</th> </tr> <tr> <td><INPUT type="checkbox" name="chk"/></td> <td><input type="text" name="name" /></td> <td><input type="text" name="name" /></td> <td><input type="text" name="name" /></td> <td><input type="text" name="name" /></td> <td><input type="text" name="name" /></td> </tr> </TR> </TABLE> code for the second table. It is vbulletine forum. In fact originally it was working fine with old design and rotating images automatically in horizontal direction with a set of 5 images visible at a time and total 12 images in set. But we have upgraded our forum design in last week and I started getting issues with Jcarousel scroller. Our site URL is http://newtest.naturalparenting.com.au Please go at any topic and post page finally, Below first post there is a scroller e.g http://newtest.naturalparenting.com....ad.php?t=42713 While old site design is still active at http://ninad.naturalparenting.com.au Please go at any topic and post page finally, Below first post there is a scroller e.g http://ninad.naturalparenting.com.au...ad.php?t=40745 At new design when we implemented jcarousel scroller it is showing only one image in a horizontal row at jscroller and it disappears immediately and after 3-4 min it do reappear again. When I inspected it using firebug I have noticed that other images are coming below vertically not horizontally, really strange. Also I noticed another thing is that it is not updating width at element.style in firebug for UL tag. It is showing fix width 220 px all time. I think due to that all images appearing vertically one after one rather than horizontally. It is really very strange issue for me. I have tried all ways to fix it but alas !!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Help would greatly be appreciated Code: var g=[{sco 0,index:0},{sco 2,index:1},{sco 1,index:2}] function sortScores(scoreRecs){ var swapped; do for(i=0;i<scoreRecs.length-1;i++){ if(scoreRecs[i].score<scoreRecs[i+1].score){ var a=scoreRecs[i] var b=scoreRecs[i+1] var c=a; a=b; b=c; swapped=true; } else{ swapped=false; } } while(swapped==true) } sortScores(g); alert(g[0].score); alert(g[1].score); alert(g[2].score); Hi, While i am binding a value to a text box using java script. It will properly in all browsers other than IE. In IE the value bind as 'undefined' in the text box . so please provide solution for this one. The code sample is given below. In this "Flight Search " is the text box id . I have to bind that value from the previous page selected value. function SelectAirport(val) { var id = val + "_lnkCity"; var lnk = document.getElementById(id); window.opener.document.getElementById("FlightSearch").value = lnk.text; window.opener.document.getElementById("destinationSearch").value = lnk.text; window.close(); } Hello, I'm trying to make a simple webpage with two input text boxes that when submitted when empty, I'll get an error pop-up telling me which ones are empty, both, first name, or last name. When there's only one if, the script works. But when there's multiple else ifs, nothing happens if I press submit. Can someone help me? Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function validateForm() { var x=document.forms["myForm"]["firstname"].value; var y=document.forms["myForm"]["lastname"].value; if (x==null || x=="" && y==null || y=="") { alert("Please put in your first and last name."); return false; } else if (x==null || x=="") { alert("Please put in your first name."); return false; } else if (y==null || y=="") { alert("Please put in your last name."); return false: } } </script> </head> <body> <form name="myForm"> First name: <input type="text" name="firstname"><br> Last name: <input type="text" name="lastname"> <input type="submit" value="Submit" onclick="validateForm()"> </form> </body> </html> Normally I would just use document.getElementById to get anything I need but here is my problem: I have a zip code control that I load using AJAX. it has city, state, country, county and zip code. This gets loaded within a business application and at one point you can have both a bill to and ship to address forms on the screen at the same time, loading my zip control with the same fields, same ids and same name. This forced me to now pass in the form name that contains the control. I need to get to divs and spans within this form. Primarily as you type in a city or zip code, I am doing a hot search with a popup div that shows you results you can quickly choose from. The only time this becomes an issue is the situation I mentioned before when the zip code control is on the screen twice. I am not certain how to access the innerHTML of a span or div by way of the form name. Is this possible and if so what is the proper syntax? Here is a very basic example at its simplest form of my problem. Code: <form name="frm_billto" id="frm_billto"> <span id="myspan">Hello</span> </form> <form name="frm_shipto" id="frm_shipto"> <span id="myspan">World</span> </form> In the above example because the control was loaded twice, I now have 2 spans with the same ID. I want the innerHTML of the each span based on the form they are in. We wanted one control that we could use throughout the system that we could update in one place and the entire application be updated. Unfortunately we did not anticipate having it load more than once on the page. Thank you for any help |
