JavaScript - Using Innerhtml To Change A Div's Text
Hi all,
Hope you can help with the following. I'm trying to change the contents of DIV2 when I click on DIV1. The following code doesn't work for some reason. I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit), and testing on Firefox 3.6.8 and IE8. Code: <html>

Hi guys, The code in question is www.spectral.og.uk/test5/work2.htm I am trying to change the main 'SPECTRAL' video content mid-right when I click on the 'Change Movie' at the bottom. Eventually I want to be able to do this from the thumbnails but Im just running a simple test first. So I defined the function 'ChangeMOVIE' on line 14 using document.getElementById & innerHTML, etc, to replicate the flash player script contents that are incidentally ID'd as "BIGCHANGE" (ie, part of the main flash player on line 249) but simply replacing a different name for the video when it reaches the Flashvars "&file=Splash.flv" to something else to effect the change of video content I'm after, 'Olay.flv' I think. I have tried so hard to research into this but it just doesn't work. Is the problem to do with that :- 1) You can't ID something within <script>, ie BIGCHANGE in this instance. 2) innerHTML is only really for text replacement, not the amount of script I've stuck into it to replace within the whole <TD> cell with ID 'VID' (ie the main flash player) even though I've used delimiters and everything within the innerHTML data to try and not confuse it with apostrophes within speach marks, etc Any thoughts where I'm going wrong? Once they hit submit, the popup should disapear and a certain text element on the previous page should be updated to show what they entered. I want to use the onmouseover and onmouseout functions to change the colours, and i want it so their are different colours for each menu item. Can anybody help me? This script puts up a png which gives a greeting depending on the time of day. I want instead to put the greeting as text. It's a bit ostentacious as it is.. I would appreciate any pointers. Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a personal website I am modifying for a friend. He basically has a list of links such as: Home Blog Pictures Links What I want to do is that whenever you roll over, say, "Blog", an image appears to the right of the links (the image will be a small screenshot of what the blog looks like). When you roll over "Pictures", a different image appears in it's place. I already know how to do this when rolling over images, but not rolling over text. I used document.getElementById and just set the src to the image, but how do I do this when I just have text to roll over? I'm writing a calculator script that will need user input (how much they pay on internet, phone or cable bill) and then multiply those numbers by a known rate and then show the customer the new number. I have the math setup (working right now), and the script works to spit out the answers in an alert. Instead of the alert (which is the only thing I can do correctly at this point), I need the script to give the answers for each bill and then a total answer at the bottom.
