Thanks in advance. Hey guys, I've been learning Javascript for a few days using code academy. I've come across this issue, and I'm not sure what exactly I'm doing wrong. Any help would be great. // Check if the user is ready to play! confirm("I am ready to play!"); var age = prompt("What's your age?"); if (age < 13) { console.log("I take no responsiblity, but you are allowed to play") } else { console.log("Have fun!") } console.log("You are at a Justin Bieber concert, and you hear this lyric 'Lace my shoes off, start racing.'") console.log("Suddenly, Bieber stops and says, 'Who wants to race me?'") var userAnswer = prompt("Do you want to race Bieber on stage?"); if userAnswer === "yes" { console.log("You and Bieber start racing. It's neck and neck! You win by a shoelace!"); } else { console.log("Oh no! Bieber shakes his head and sings 'I set a pace, so I can race without pacing.'"); } uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression:
Code: :([rel*=qnt_Rc]) I have this code: Code: grpDiv = $$('div:([rel*=' + txt_val + '])'); Which when operaterated on, we have: Code: grpDiv = $$('div:([rel*=qnt_Rc]) This error: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: Code: :([rel*=qnt_Rc]) Is new. The code in question has been around for about a year and no issues with prototype 1.6.1. Yet we upgraded to 1.7, and this error started showing. any ideas what this could be and how to fix it? thanks I'm trying to implement a syntax highlighter in my program, but jQuery 1.2.6 is giving me problems. This line specifically: Code: parse: [/^(\[) *@?([\w-]+) *([!*$^~=]*) *('?"?)(.*?)\4 *\]/, /^(:)([\w-]+)\("?'?(.*?(\(.*?\))?[^(]*?)"?'?\)/, new RegExp("^([:.#]*)(" + chars + "+)")], it messes with every javascript editor's syntax highlighting I've tried so far too. It looks like they're declaring a regex pattern without a delimiter. Can anybody make sense of this line? Hi Im alot stuck at the moment so if anyone can help resolve the issues i'm having I would be very grateful! if you go to http://love2-create.com and click on the orange "view profile" link about halfway down the left hand column, a tab opens showing a profile with a small picture gallery at the bottom, this gallery works fine in firefox and google chrome, however in safari it works sometimes but not always and in IE it usually works on the first time the page is loaded but then when the page is refreshed and the profile link is clicked I get an Error: 'document.getElementById(...)' is null or not an object on line 60, the lines in question look like this: Code: buildcontentdivs:function(setting){ var alldivs=document.getElementById(setting.id).getElementsByTagName("div") for (var i=0; i<alldivs.length; i++){ if (this.css(alldivs[i], "contentdiv", "check")){ //check for DIVs with class "contentdiv" setting.contentdivs.push(alldivs[i]) alldivs[i].style.display="none" //collapse all content DIVs to begin with } } }, Does anyone know why this may be, and how it can possibly work sometimes but not always?? its totally got me baffled so if anyone can help I would very very much appreciate it, please let me know if you need any other details about the site etc from me. Apparently, this can take some time, so I get the "Stop running this script?" message. From what I understand, I need to use the setTimeout call, but for the life of me can't understand it.
