JavaScript - Displaying Info From Javascript Array Randomly.

I have used the PHP Calculator thanks to "ralph l mayo" and it is exactly what I'm in need of BUT the problem is now when I put it into my html doc in Dreamweaver CS4 and preview in IE everything below the calculation is gone / blank / disappeared. What is the story...PLEASE PLEASE HELP

Im new to javascript so thankyou in advance for reading this!

Im trying to create a video gallery, with thumbnails below a main content div, which when clicked display the relevant video in the said div.
This isn't a problem and I have managed to do this... However, I also need to display descriptive text (different for every video) in a seperate div, and the first video also needs to autoplay when the page is loaded (rather than waiting until the user requests a video by clicking a thumbnail)

The div 'a few lines of info about vid here' is currently just static but this is what i need to change each time a different video is requested by the user (sorry if thats obvious but just in case its not clear)

I will be using .movs but I've embedded youtube for now although I don't think that makes any difference...

Im presuming it will be a case of having text that is hidden until the thumbnail is clicked...? Which I guess I could do with css but that way seems a little clumsy, I really am a newbie to javascript so a helping hand in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

This is running through a PHP loop so it's making multiple divs and links for the secondaries. I am wanting to be able to swap out any of them to make them 'primary'....this works for the first click, but after the first click it makes every div id and input name the same as the first that was clicked.

It's also not working AT all if i click on the bottom link first, then a link above it. Top-down works, bottom-up doesn't...Please help

i'm sorting a 2d array by whatever column i specify. i know from using firebug that my sorting is working, but it's getting and displaying undefined for dataToInsert and inside of my table, but sortedArray winds up sorted correctly.

The problem is that nothing is happening when I press the calculation button.

What I would like to happen is to display a div element for each value in the array which displays the entered value from VenCost2, the current Margin %, and the result of VenCost2 * margin%. I want this to display on the same page and underneath the calculation button, preferably not having to reload the page.

I thought this was going to be relatively easy but doesn't seem so!

Hey, i am just trying to learn javascript and my friend gave me a little assignment to try and figure out. i am having trouble figuring it out and need some help.

basically i just want to display the information in my associative array, into an html table.

I am working on a page where the user will select a location from a dynamically generated dropdown list.

I was able to create the php multidimensional array (tested and working) from a MySql database using the users information at login, but I'm having problems converting it to a javascript multidimensional array. I need to be able to access variables that I can pass to a number of text fields within an html form.

For instance, if a user belongs to a company with multiple addresses, I need to be able to let them select the address they need to prepopulate specific text fields.

Hi guys, I already posted this but it hasn't been approved by a mod or the mods are all at lunch or something lol.

I want to display an image using javascript instead of HTML (or use javascript to change the HTML code dynamically when an update is made). I have created an XML file, which contains text data which is displayed in HTML by using Javascript.

What I am having trouble with is getting Javascript to grab the image URL from the XML file, and then display that image in the correct div. How does one show an image by using javascript? and how do you get javascript to get the url from the XML?

So what I want to do is create a function that grabs the url (relative) from the PIC tag in the XML ("newssmall.jpg") and then uses this URL to display the image on the HTML page. This way, only the XML needs updating when updating the news section of the site.

Im coding a chat system, but the main thing which I cannot get working which is stopping me from doing this is displaying the data from the database.

I have made a test XML document for the time being so that I can get the JavaScript/AJAX working properly, then I will figure out why my PHP isnt generating the XML file properly.

Also, I put a alert under the manageMessage() function before the IF statement and that gets displayed.

I have Win 7, IE9.

I have a HTML file on my hard drive, with Javascript within. When I load the page, it keeps popping up Do u want to allow this content, I have to click to allow. I want to stop this, and after doing some searching I found the setting in Internet Options, Advanced - "Allow active content to run in files on my computer".

Perfect.

Doesnt work. When i check this box, the page loads without the warning, but then the Javascript just doesnt work.

Getting quite annoying, because this file is my home page.

Any help would be great!

I'm very new at JavaScript and I'm trying to get each of the if statements below in a text text box with the result depending on the answer of the equation.
