JavaScript - File Naming Schema Help!!!!
I have this form that I want to be saved on the users desktop and at the same time provide a specified file name +computer user name+ date+time. For example if the form is called 'Requisition', I would like that when the user clicks the submit button, a 'save' window pops up with the file name as "Requisition" + "username" + "current date" + "current time". I am working on Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.

Hi i am using javascript for the first time and i have a problem .I have 2 files html and javascript file in seperate but i donot know how to make them work .the code is down below .Thanks in advance for help. I also have a shared JavaScript library which uses the variables in gameSetting.js, which I include like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="gameSetting.js" ></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="gameLibrary.js" ></script> In gameSetting.js I have: $(document).ready(function() { // call some functions / classes in gameLibrary.js } in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, this works fine. However, in IE, when it's parsing gameSetting.js, it complains that the functions that live in gameLibrary.js aren't defined. When it gets to parsing gameLibrary.js, the variables in gameSetting.js are reported as not being defined. I've tried dynamically bootstrapping the gameLibrary file using this function in document.ready for dynamic load... $.getScript("gameLibrary.js"); However, the same problem still happens in IE, where when it parses the files individually it's not taking into context the file/variables that came before, so it's not an out of load order problem. My options a 1) collapsing all the functions in gameLibrary.js and variables in gameSetting.js into one file. However, this is not practical because this is dealing with literally hundreds of games, and having a gameLibrary.js in ONE location for ONE update is what makes most logical sense. 2) figure out a way to get this to work where variables in file1 are accessible to file2 in IE (as it seems they are in other browsers). jQuery seems to be able to have multiple plugins that all refer to the based jQuery-1.3.2.js, so I know there is a way to get this to work. In a php upload Form when a User chooses an image file to upload, the name of the file appears next to the Choose File button (see attachment) is it possible to grab that file name, add it to the page, and proceed with completing the Form? Attached Thumbnails I've tried every combination I can think of, and I can't figure this out. According to me, if you type a name that matches one of the xml items' names into the box using the following code: Code: Name: <input type="text" id="nameInput"/> <input type="button" onclick="searchLocations()" value="Search Locations"/> function searchLocations() { var input = document.getElementById('nameInput').value; if (!input) { alert("please enter a name"); } else { for (var j = 0; j < gmarkers.length; j++) { if (gmarkers[j].myname == input) { gmarkers[j].show(); } } } } it should show the gmarker with that name... but nothing. If I leave it blank and hit the search button at least I get the alert, so something is working... any suggestions? Is there a way to tell Javascript to load data or a php file the re-direct to that page? Right now i have a script that will re-direct when a user comes to the page. It waits about 5 seconds to give it time. I wanted to know if there was a way to load it with JS or AJAX. Thanks for any help. Hey everyone. Just to let you know I am new to this site, javascript and am amateur at making sites (hobby). My situation is that I have a web address that changes everyday/second day and this address gets put in a text file. My question is how can I use javascript to read this file and copy the contents into an <a href=""></a> tag. Is it possible to do this in javascript?: <a href="variableURL">My dynamic link</a> I have been searching for a week and thought it's time to sign up and ask Thanks! Hey all, I'm fairly new to JavaScript. I learned PHP and now I'm creating a user registration and login system for an application I'm making and I decided I wanted to give JS a try. I'm trying to make a form validation function that will be called when I press the submit button on the form but I want to use an external js file to store all my custom functions. I have the OnClick event in the button with the call to my function inside of that. But where and how on the page to I reference my external file so that the button can call the function? Thanks guys! the problem I am dealing with is the following. I want to load a PHP file in a div from another file than the original file that contained the divs. I used the following code to change the content of the site I'm working on without reloading the site. however, I want to change the content div from the website from another file that is within an iframe. so how can get an element of a different file? In practice: the site I'm working on is http://dierenspel.webege.com/. you can log in with username= test1 password=1test after you logged in there should be a "start" button. I want a new file to load in the content div when the button is pressed. for this I need an element of the index file. Code: function loadXMLDoc1() { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) * {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari * xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); * } else * {// code for IE6, IE5 * xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); * } xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() * { * if (xmlhttp.readyState==4 && xmlhttp.status==200) * * { * * document.getElementById("content").innerHTML=xmlhttp.responseText; * * } * } xmlhttp.open("GET","home.php",true); xmlhttp.send(); } Hi, I'm new to JavaScript and I'm having a bit of trouble understanding something that seems relatively simple. When I make changes to CSS in JavaScript using '.style' I'm changing the attribute values of inline CSS. Can I use JavaScript to change the attribute values of rules in an external CSS file? I have no CSS in my html and would like to know if I can grab the values of attributes in an external CSS file using JavaScript. Thank you. |
