JavaScript - Accordion Menu Bugs The Login System So People Cant Login
Hello there guys!
Thanks for taking time to view this thread. It's appriciated! I found a really nice menu (Javascript, JQuery) im not so high tech on this myself, and not the best coder either but whenever I use this menu it gives the login box on the website an error, it doesn't let people login.. I've tried to localize the error myself, but I just dont know how to fix it, I think the issue is that the site system i use doesn't support these type of scripts which gives the login errors! I'm currently using a free website system, which allows you to customize anything you want called "uCoz" The menu i used was: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...enu-glossy.htm And I think it's the jquery that gives the login box errors.. I'm thankfull for answers if anyone knows Similar TutorialsI have a js script to unlock a user account on my windows xp system below. Can anybody help me for a js code which can be used to connect to another windows system in the network with a username and password and run this script on that system and ends the session? the script can be placed to that system. I just need a script which logins to that system and run this script on a periodic basis and ends the session after that. The current script "autolock.js", unlocks the user account which has been locked by invalid password tries. Code: UnlockAccount( "Computer", "devtest1" ); // Unlock account using ADSI. // // Domain: Is the domain where the account resides, computer // or domain accounts. For account local to a machine use // the computer's netbios name. For domain accounts, use // the domain name. // // Account: Is the account name to be unlocked. // function UnlockAccount( domain, account ) { try { var user = GetObject( "WinNT://" + domain + "/" + account ); if( user.IsAccountLocked ) { user.IsAccountLocked = false; user.SetInfo(); //print( "Account Unlocked" ); } else { //print( "Account was not locked" ); } } catch( e ) { print( "Error: " + e.description ); } } function print( msg ) { WScript.Echo( msg ); } Hello everyone. I have a a html page that is used as a login page. I know it is not secure but this is just for learning purposes, I'm not using it for anything important. My problem is that when I put in the correct login all that happens is the page just clears the text boxes as if you were starting over. I am trying to get it to go to register.html which is located in the same directory as the login page. Help with what I'm doing wrong would be greatly appreciated. Here is the code: Code: <html> <head> <title>Login Page</title> </head> <body> <script type = "text/javascript"> var count = 2; function validate() { var un = document.myform.username.value; var pw = document.myform.pword.value; var valid = false; var unArray = ["Philip", "George", "Sarah", "Michael"]; // as many as you like - no comma after final entry var pwArray = ["Password1", "Password2", "Password3", "Password4"]; // the corresponding passwords; for (var i=0; i <unArray.length; i++) { if ((un == unArray[i]) && (pw == pwArray[i])) { valid = true; break; } } if (valid) { alert ("Login was successful"); window.location = "register.html"; return false; } var t = " tries"; if (count == 1) {t = " try"} if (count >= 1) { alert ("Invalid username and/or password. You have " + count + t + " left."); document.myform.username.value = ""; document.myform.pword.value = ""; setTimeout("document.myform.username.focus()", 25); setTimeout("document.myform.username.select()", 25); count --; } else { alert ("Still incorrect! You have no more tries left!"); document.myform.username.value = "No more tries allowed!"; document.myform.pword.value = ""; document.myform.username.disabled = true; document.myform.pword.disabled = true; return false; } } </script> <form> <table border ="5"> <tr> <th colspan="2">Login</th> </tr> <tr> <td>Username:</td> <td><input type="text" name="username" /></td> </tr> <tr> <td>Password:</td> <td><input type="password" name="pword" /></td> </tr> <tr> <th colspan="2"><input type="Submit" value="Login" name="Submit" onClick="validate()" /><input type="Reset" value="Reset" /></th> </tr> </table> <p> <a href="register.html">New users click here to register</a> </p> </form></body></html> Hi All, So i have been trying over the past few weeks (among other things) to get this menu figured out. I would really appreciate some advice/help/direction with this... Please see attached pic... what i have is three elements: "Home" "Services" "Contact". What i want is on page load they are all 100px wide... now whenever user hovers over an item it expands to be 200px wide while the other two shrink to 50px... remove hover they revert to original... I am not too familiar with javascript as i mainly use C# to do the tasks normally done by javascript (i work on asp.net platform)... i have presented a similar question to this in ajax section (thinkin that what i had was an ajax work around) but upon further reading of sources i think that is not really what i want... I am unsure where to begin and what to do... i know i need to set up a function and i have the math part figured out (i think)... i guess what i am really unclear as to whether this is a modification to the accordion menu frame... the issues i see are that i do not want the menu to have a traditional "content" area that collapses; i want the menu "headers" to expand... i also need them to expand horizontally not vertically... i am not looking for someone to "do this" for me; i am looking for advice and guidance... possibly a link to a tutorial? i have tried this but it does not work right... i can revisit it (possibly type-Oed something) but i havent because it is not really what i am looking for Hello to all, I have a little problem with my accordion menu and I CRAVE for your help! I try to make this: when you visit my page I need the menu to be all collapsed. Also the history of clicks (it remembers which menus where left opened) works fine on IE but not on firefox. Here is the js code: function add_menu_event_handlers() { var elems = document.getElementsByTagName('h3'); for (i = 0; i < elems.length; i++) { switch (elems[i].parentNode.className) { /*case 'moduletable': case 'moduletable_menu':*/ case 'left_module_title': case 'left_module_title_menu': { if (elems[i].parentNode.parentNode.parentNode.id == 'xp-left') { xplike_addEvent(elems[i], 'click', function(){menu_header_click(this);}); // menu_header_click(elems[i]); //Load status from cookies and collapse if required var cookie_array = document.cookie.split(';'); for(var j=0; j<cookie_array.length; j++) { var c = cookie_array[j]; while (c.charAt(0)==' ') c = c.substring(1,c.length); if (c.indexOf('xplike_menu_status_' + elems[i].firstChild.nodeValue.replace('.', '_').replace(' ', '_')) == 0) { var menu_cookie = c.split('=') if (menu_cookie.length == 2 && menu_cookie[1] == '1') { menu_header_click(elems[i]); } } } } } } } } And it also has this for the history thing. function save_menu_status(menu_title, value, how_many_days) { var date = new Date(); date.setTime(date.getTime()+(how_many_days*24*60*6 0*1000)); var expires = ""; document.cookie = 'xplike_menu_status_' + menu_title.replace('.', '_').replace(' ', '_') + '=' + value + expires + '; path=/'; } It might be easy and stupid, I know, but since I'm a designer - not a developer - all look weird to me! Any thoughts? Hi All, I want an accordion menu and which is as follows 1.it should be a vertical accordion menu 2.every menu should display with image and link 3.if i click on image or link then only menu should display or open to show sub menu otherwise it should not display. Please tell the solution for the above ThanksAhead Venkat I’m trying to implement a JavaScript that creates an accordion menu. As the script currently stands, your able to tell the first list within the menu to expand when the page loads. You do this by adding .expandfirst into the ul class tag. My question is... Does anyone know how to edit the JavaScript so that I can also tell the menu (on some pages) to expand the second or third list? I only need one list to be expanded at any one time. Here's the script... Code: function initMenus() { $('ul.menu ul').hide(); $.each($('ul.menu'), function(){ $('#' + this.id + '.expandfirst ul:first).show(); }); $('ul.menu li a').click( function() { var checkElement = $(this).next(); var parent = this.parentNode.parentNode.id; if($('#' + parent).hasClass('noaccordion')) { $(this).next().slideToggle('normal'); return false; } if((checkElement.is('ul')) && (checkElement.is(':visible'))) { if($('#' + parent).hasClass('collapsible')) { $('#' + parent + ' ul:visible').slideUp('normal'); } return false; } if((checkElement.is('ul')) && (!checkElement.is(':visible'))) { $('#' + parent + ' ul:visible').slideUp('normal'); checkElement.slideDown('normal'); return false; } } ); } $(document).ready(function() {initMenus();}); Hope someone can help!? Hi, I mainly do PHP/MySQL coding, but I wanted to add this Javascript Accordion Menu to my site: Javascript And CSS Tutorial - Accordion Menus | Switch on the Code It works fine, but I was wondering if there was a simple way to modify the code so that the currently open menu stays open from page to page instead of closing upon each page reload? Thanks for the help, --Anamaniac Hey, I'm having trouble with this site http://bit.ly/hL0u0w... If you go to the services section you will see a sub navigation on the left of the box. The idea of this is to have sub sections within the main headings that expand/collapse when selected. Insted when any one link is clicked the whole menu expands and not just the related sub sections. This is the javascript Quote: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready (function() { $('#link1').click(function() { $('.slide').slideToggle('fast'); }); $('.close').click(function() { $('.slide').slideUp('fast'); }); $(document).ready (function() { $('#link2').click(function() { $('.slide').slideToggle('fast'); }); $('.close').click(function() { $('.slide').slideUp('fast'); }); }); $(document).ready (function() { $('#link3').click(function() { $('.slide').slideToggle('fast'); }); $('.close').click(function() { $('.slide').slideUp('fast'); }); }); }); </script> and here is the html Quote: <div id="subnav4"> <ul class="navigation4 pagination"> <li class="tab4"><a rel="1" id="link1" href="#">heading 1</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">corporate id</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">branding</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">brochures</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">direct mail</a></li> <li class="tab4"><a id="link2" href="#">heading 2</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">email marketing</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">websites</a></li> <li class="tab4"><a id="link3" href="#">heading 3</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">advertising</a></li> <li style="display: none;" class="dome slide"><a href="#">audiovisual</a></li> <li class="tab4"><a id="heading 3" href="#">exhibitions</a></li> </ul> </div> Hope someone can help with this! Many thanks! Hi, I have a browser related problem that affects my accordion menu. I used a menu from dynamic drive: http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...enu-bullet.htm Only one of 4 headers in the menu expand, and that has another level inside. The issue is that in safari, when you click on 'portfolio' to expand and load a page, when the page loads the menu fully collapses, rather than staying open with the sub menu visible. I have tried increasing the delay between opening the menu and then navigating to the page, but this hasn't helped. this is a link to the site, to see desired behavior firefox does a good job. http://www.wadmanlimited.co.uk/bestudioweb thanks for any help. hey guys im not sure if this is javascript or not, but how do i make this? i only want one username/password to catch spam Could somebody please help get this login script working(I know it's vulnerable): Code: <html> <body> <script type = "text/javascript"> function validate() { var F_F_F2318797AS$ = document.GENERATOR.color.value; var color = "#FFFF9B" if (F_F_F2318797AS$ == color && 1==1 && 2==2) { alert ("Login was successful"); return false; } else{ alert ("Incorrect password"); return false; } </script> <h1> Welcome to the realm of <big style="color:red">confusing</big> Javascript <h1> <form name = "GENERATOR"> ENTER PASSWORD <input type="password" name="color"> <input type="button" value="Submit" name="Submit" onclick= "validate()"> < </form> </body> </html> Thanks in advance! It's pretty straight forward, but I'm having one issue with my program and I don't see the best way around it. I have two logins for my website. A user can log in with their facebook, and it's encouraged as I'm implementing facebook features through out it, but I also need to have a very strict control over who is able to actually modify the database. Basically, if a user comes to the site and logs in with facebook, I check for their email, if it doesn't exist, an account is created, but it's level one and theres also an isReg field that's set to 0. If the email address is already found, I simply add the facebook data to the existing account. If a facebook user wants to become an actual client, I then send them through my traditional registration process. Pretty basic as far as facebook implementation goes. My problem, however, is with the facebook javascript itself. Since the program is mostly PHP based, I have the facebook login fire the script I talked about above, and it sets up the session variables I use to control who has access to what. The problem is after the ajax call, I need the page to refresh so it shows the user access stuff that's tied into the PHP program. The logout refresh works great, but as you can see with this code, if I put something like "window.location="ect"", it would send the browser into an endless loop. I need some advice on how to refresh this page so the php session stuff gets added after a Facebook login. Code: <script type="text/javascript"> window.fbAsyncInit = function() { FB.init({appId: '215993265079207', status: true, cookie: true, xfbml: true}); /* All the events registered */ FB.Event.subscribe('auth.login', function(response) { // do something with response login(); }); FB.Event.subscribe('auth.logout', function(response) { // do something with response logout(); }); FB.getLoginStatus(function(response) { if (response.session) { // logged in and connected user, someone you know login(); } }); }; (function() { var e = document.createElement('script'); e.type = 'text/javascript'; e.src = document.location.protocol + '//connect.facebook.net/en_US/all.js'; e.async = true; document.getElementById('fb-root').appendChild(e); }()); function fbloginClick(){ FB.login(function(response) { if (response.session) { if (response.perms) { // user is logged in and granted some permissions. // perms is a comma separated list of granted permissions } else { // user is logged in, but did not grant any permissions } } else { // user is not logged in } }, {perms:'email,user_birthday'} ); } function login(){ //Fire the PHP Facebook Auth Script var xmlhttp; if (window.XMLHttpRequest){// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); }else{// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.open("POST","http://www.thehoppr.com/clients/facebook/facebook_auth.php",true); xmlhttp.send(); } function fblogoutClick(){ FB.logout(function(response) { // user is now logged out }); } function logout(){ //Fire the PHP Logout Script var xmlhttp; if (window.XMLHttpRequest){// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest(); }else{// code for IE6, IE5 xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP"); } xmlhttp.open("POST","http://www.thehoppr.com/clients/logout.php",true); xmlhttp.send(); window.location.reload; } </script> Anyone got any ideas for me here? Guys, we are 2 guys working on an android app. Once installed on an android phone the authentication sends back a "failed to login" 80% of the time and around 20% of the time there is no issue at all. We checked with the host (godaddy) n no issue on their side. We feel pretty stuck and wonder where we should look at. Would you have any advise on what to check given that sometimes it works fine n other it fails (without touching the code) ? BR, Ju I was wondering if there was an easy way to configure a message box to resemble that of a login form. It would preferably have two text fields for username/password and OK and Cancel buttons as well. I currently have a normal login form on my website designed using PHP but it does not figure into what we need to do now. I'm not sure about going about this and I have tried looking for quite sometime for an example of this but cannot find one.
i am having a simple login system, but i need some help i want to assign an if else statement my code is this : what i need is if i login to sales if navigates to sales page, if other then go to other page pls help me It is very important for me Thanks is advance Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" /> <title>ENTER USER NAME ENTER PASSWORD</title> <style type="text/css"> .style1 { text-align: center; } </style> </head> <body style="background-color: #AFC8C7"> <script type = "text/javascript"> // Note: Like all Javascript password scripts, this is hopelessly insecure as the user can see //the valid usernames/passwords and the redirect url simply with View Source. // And the user can obtain another three tries simply by refreshing the page. //So do not use for anything serious! var count = 2; function validate() { var un = document.myform.username.value; var pw = document.myform.pword.value; var valid = false; var unArray = ["HR", "Admin", "IT", "Sales"]; // as many as you like - no comma after final entry var pwArray = ["hr123", "admin123", "it123", "sales123"]; // the corresponding passwords; for (var i=0; i <unArray.length; i++) { if ((un == unArray[i]) && (pw == pwArray[i])) { valid = true; break; } } if (valid) { alert ("Login was successful"); window.location = "index.html"; return false; } var t = " tries"; if (count == 1) {t = " try"} if (count >= 1) { alert ("Invalid username and/or password. Firstly I must point out, although I know this probably isnt the best way to create a login system. Its just an example for some of my school work. Basically, I have a very basic "bare bones" login form. What I want to be able to do, is to create an IF statement that will allow only 1 pair of values for the username and password. eg. username = john password = smith now, I want the if statement to run, and look for the values entered in the username and password fields. if the value for username is correct, and the password is correct, i want another page to open, however if any other values are entered, i want an alert message to be thrown. "please enter correct login details". My problem with this, Is i do not know how to write an if statement that will except one value, and reject all others. Iv included a printscreen of my coding and I warn you, it may be very wrong, but Im confused as to how to make it work. Heres the image of my code: http://i39.tinypic.com/e8sb9j.png Thanks for your time.
