JavaScript - Help With Uploadify And File Data
i am using the jquery plugin uploadify as an image uploader, i want the image to be able to be uploaded and then redirected to another page where you will see a thumbnail of the picture and be able edit the caption, description, etc... ... i am not interested on how to do it but only how to control variables from the files uploaded.... i have uploadify on a upload.php and it accesses the script uploadify.php to process the file handling
in a regular php uploader, i could put the uploaded file information into variables and redirect to another page and use those variables... with uploadify i am not sure how to accomplish this... i can't use uploadify.php to create variables to be used, after the upload, the user remains on the page uploadify is installed on(upload.php)... how can i take the file information and put it into variables and be redirected with the ability to call those variables i'm sorry i am new to javascript and i'm trying to understand it the best i can, if someone could help me achieve this Similar TutorialsHello everyone, I have setup a script called Uploadify it is a basic file uploader script however by default it does not show a link to the uploaded file. I have had to look in the documentation on to do this but there is no clear guide on how to do it. I found this function though which I belieave is the solution: http://www.uploadify.com/documentati.../oncomplete-2/ Here are the functions I am using: Code: 'onComplete' : function(event, ID, fileObj, response, data) { document.write('http://www.cqwebdesign.co.uk' + fileObj.filePath +''); } This works kinda but when it shows the link the page continues loading as if it is stuck in some loop? You can try it out he http://www.cqwebdesign.co.uk/SC2/index.html Thanks Hello, in clipbucket when I try to upload a big file like 50 Mb at the end uploadify fails to upload and says HTTP error, how can I get more error details to solve this? I have no problem with small files upload, and php settings "max_execution_time, max_post_size, max_upload_size" etc are correctly setted... Thank you! i am thinking of using a xml file as a data base for example , the xml file stores a list of reference numbers which is allocated to a url or a name such as 0123456789 and i have a text box on a webpage and the user types in a reference number and the javascripts reads the xml file to check if its a valid reference number i.e a registered number i am new to working with xml etc... so would be nice to have a little help here EXAMPLE <DATA> <REF> <0123456789>JOE</01234567890> <1111111111>www.google.com</1111111111> </REF> </DATA> id like it to read the specific data thats contained within the tag such as 0123456789's tag = JOE Hello, I'm trying to parse my data from an xml file now and print it out on the page based on date from my existing code. I have that working, with each item formatted the same way on the page What I'd like to do now is alter it a bit to make the most recent (the item listed on the top of the page) formatted differently and the rest of them as it is now. Something like - (if 1st <li> then build html like this else build html like that) I hope this makes sense. Thanx, Nari well i'm kind of new to this website and scripting with javascript but i am wondering: in a client side .js file i have some coding which results in a string which is stored in a variable called exportData now i want that string to be written into a text file on a server but how do i do that? it is not local on the client's pc and i can't find how to do it anywhere... can you guys help me? greetings, Fady Hello All, I always wonder that how to display any sort of data or HTML codes by just simply calling or including a Javascript file in other HTML file or a webpage. If you didn't understand what I want to say, I would like to give an example like AdSense gives a javascript code that need to be put where we want to show ads. And the ads appear, similarly how to display any HTML code with just inclusion of Javascript file. An other example is - <script type="text/javascript" src="http://example.com/scripts/javascript/source/somescript.js"> <div id="div_one"></div> <div id="div_two"></div> <div id="div_three"></div> </script> Now this script will show some HTML inside first div, some on second and so on. So How can I do that, please explain with an example... Thanks. I am trying for a javascript code that would ask for the excel file location when run, fetch data from two columns till eof in an excel file (MS Excel 2010), append it to an existing text file and upload the plain text file to an ftp location. The ftp username, password and location needs to be hard coded in the script. Is this possible? Hi, Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong. Script works on the first attachment but not the other two? Code: <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript"><!-- function ExtensionsOkay() { var extension = new Array(); var fieldvalue = new Array(); fieldvalue[0] = document.customApp.attachment_1.value; fieldvalue[1] = document.customApp.attachment_2.value; fieldvalue[2] = document.customApp.attachment_3.value; extension[0] = ".doc"; extension[1] = ".docx"; extension[2] = ".txt"; extension[3] = ".pdf"; // No other customization needed. for(var f = 0; f < fieldvalue.length; f++) { var thisext = fieldvalue[f].substr(fieldvalue[f].lastIndexOf('.')); for(var i = 0; i < extension.length; i++) { if(thisext == extension[i]) { return true; } } alert("Your upload field " + f + " contains an unapproved file name."); return false; } } //--></script> I can get this code to take two separate sections of a file which are not beside each other and write them into another file. It always comes up as a single full line of the code instead of the sections I want. The code includes the student number first name last name and three results of assignments. I want the code to write the student number and three results of all the students into a file and then work out the average of the student results. Can you help? Code: try{ while (in.hasNextLine()) { String line = in.nextLine(); out.println( line); int i=0; if(!Character.isDigit(line.charAt(i))) { i++; } studentStringNumber = line.substring(0, i); String stringResult = line.substring(i); studentStringNumber = studentStringNumber.trim(); stringResults = stringResults.trim(); double stringResultsValue = Double.parseDouble(stringResults.trim()); stringResults = in.nextLine(); studentStringNumber = in.nextLine(); studentNumber = Integer.parseInt(studentStringNumber); if(in.hasNextInt()) { int value = in.nextInt(); } results = Double.parseDouble(stringResults); if(in.hasNextDouble()) { double value = in.nextDouble(); } Scanner lineScanner = new Scanner(line); studentStringNumber = lineScanner.next(); while(!lineScanner.hasNextDouble()) { studentStringNumber = studentStringNumber+ " " +lineScanner.next(); } stringResultsValue = lineScanner.nextDouble(); } } Hi i am using javascript for the first time and i have a problem .I have 2 files html and javascript file in seperate but i donot know how to make them work .the code is down below .Thanks in advance for help. Hello all, I am new here and have a question about a AP Div I am using as a dropin. It drops in when the page loads and I would like it to only drop in if a visitor clicks a link I designate as the dropin link. Can someone please tell me how to accomplish this? I am pasting in the js file and I will also need to know how to set up the "a href" link to call the dropin! Thanks is advance for any help you may give! Code: // JavaScript Document var ie=document.all var dom=document.getElementById var ns4=document.layers var calunits=document.layers? "" : "px" var bouncelimit=32 //(must be divisible by 8) var direction="up" function initbox(){ if (!dom&&!ie&&!ns4) return crossobj=(dom)?document.getElementById("dropin").style : ie? document.all.dropin : document.dropin scroll_top=(ie)? truebody().scrollTop : window.pageYOffset crossobj.top=scroll_top-250+calunits crossobj.visibility=(dom||ie)? "visible" : "show" dropstart=setInterval("dropin()",50) } function dropin(){ scroll_top=(ie)? truebody().scrollTop : window.pageYOffset if (parseInt(crossobj.top)<100+scroll_top) crossobj.top=parseInt(crossobj.top)+40+calunits else{ clearInterval(dropstart) bouncestart=setInterval("bouncein()",50) } } function bouncein(){ crossobj.top=parseInt(crossobj.top)-bouncelimit+calunits if (bouncelimit<0) bouncelimit+=8 bouncelimit=bouncelimit*-1 if (bouncelimit==0){ clearInterval(bouncestart) } } function dismissbox(){ if (window.bouncestart) clearInterval(bouncestart) crossobj.visibility="hidden" } function truebody(){ return (document.compatMode && document.compatMode!="BackCompat")? document.documentElement : document.body } window.onload=window.setTimeout(initbox,5000); All -- I have a JavaScript config file called gameSetting.js which contains a bunch of variables which configures a particular game. I also have a shared JavaScript library which uses the variables in gameSetting.js, which I include like so: <script type="text/javascript" src="gameSetting.js" ></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="gameLibrary.js" ></script> In gameSetting.js I have: $(document).ready(function() { // call some functions / classes in gameLibrary.js } in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, this works fine. However, in IE, when it's parsing gameSetting.js, it complains that the functions that live in gameLibrary.js aren't defined. When it gets to parsing gameLibrary.js, the variables in gameSetting.js are reported as not being defined. I've tried dynamically bootstrapping the gameLibrary file using this function in document.ready for dynamic load... $.getScript("gameLibrary.js"); However, the same problem still happens in IE, where when it parses the files individually it's not taking into context the file/variables that came before, so it's not an out of load order problem. My options a 1) collapsing all the functions in gameLibrary.js and variables in gameSetting.js into one file. However, this is not practical because this is dealing with literally hundreds of games, and having a gameLibrary.js in ONE location for ONE update is what makes most logical sense. 2) figure out a way to get this to work where variables in file1 are accessible to file2 in IE (as it seems they are in other browsers). jQuery seems to be able to have multiple plugins that all refer to the based jQuery-1.3.2.js, so I know there is a way to get this to work. Help appreciated. Nero I tried to follow directions here http://www.javascriptkit.com/javatut...ernalphp.shtml and here http://codingforums.com/showpost.php...91&postcount=4 without any luck.
