JavaScript - Javascript Problem In Ie - Specifics Are Noted
Here is the page where the larger problems is isolated all the way down.
Read the script on the source code of the page. Firefox finds the string and indexes as it should. IE8 doesn't. Please advise. THANKS! It is located here. http://www.frontendaudio.com/v/vspfiles/munged_tester.html PROBLEM is - works in firefox and safari -- but doesn't work in IE8 ---- Anyone care to assist me? All javascript is in the source code of the mentioned page. Thanks! I cannot make IE "see" the text even though it is clearly there! Similar TutorialsI have about 100 pages of HTML, and I want to only have to put in the specific data once. My Javascript is rusty and I am on a short fuse, unfortunately, so some help would be appreciated. All pages have one picture with URL path to the image, an initial width, and a title string. I would like to define these once in a Javascript etc, and have a script plug those values into the page Title, the width of the pic <img> tag, the URL of the src of the pic, and a text title in the body (above the pic) of the page. -- I think I need <body onload="mySetup('myTitle string', picWidth, '<picURL>')> then in the script I would need: window.title = myTitle; bodyText.innerHTML = myTitle; myPic.width = picWidth; myPic.src = picURL; myPic.alt = myTitle; then <img id="myPic" onclick="myClickHandler( )"> --------------- But messing about with this has not gotten me a working page. Would some kind person help out? Thanks! I got an index.php Code: <html> <form action="bacakomik.php" method='post'> <select name="kodekomik"> <option value='../komik1/|23'>Judul Komik1</option> <option value="../komik2/|20">Judul Komik2</option> <option value="../komik3/|10">Juduk Komik3</option> <option value="../komik4/|20">Judul Komik4</option> </select> <input type="submit" /> </form> <?php echo ('<select>'); echo ('<option value= "'.$i.'">'.'Page '.$i.'</option>'); echo ('</select>'); ?> </html> As you can see, each of the option brings specific value "../komik1/|23" komik1 is a directory | is a delimiter 23 is the pages in one chapter and can be considered also as how many images are there on a specific directory This is my bacakomik.php Code: <?php $dirkomik = $_POST['kodekomik']; $exploded = explode("|", $dirkomik); echo ($exploded[0]); //picture directory echo ("<br>"); echo ($exploded[1]); //total page in the comic $pagecount = (int)$exploded[1]; //Take last posted value, process it right away echo ('<FORM name="guideform"> '); echo ('<select name="guidelinks">'); $i=1; do { echo ('<option value= "'.$i.'">'.'Page '.$i.'</option>'); $i= $i+1; }while($i <= $pagecount); //Printing option and select echo ("</select>"); ?> <input type="button" name="go" value="Go!" onClick="document.getElementById('im').src=document.guideform.guidelinks.options[document.guideform.guidelinks.selectedIndex].value+'.png';"> </FORM> <img src="img0.jpg" id="im"> With the current code on bacakomik.php, I only can change the img src of id "im" in the same directory only. What I want is that the Javascript could "add" the "$exploded[0]" variable so that the picture can be loaded from different directory. Anyone can do this? I believe that the fix should be somewhere on input tag inside OnClick, or do you know where? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var divArray = document.getElementById('tablecontent').offsetheight; //Subtracting 442 because that's the height of the table. I'm just trying to add onto the bottom. var subtraction = divarray - 442; var tablesidebar = document.getElementById('tablesidebar'); tablesidebar.style.paddingbottom = subtraction + 'px'; </script> Any help to get this working is well appreciated. Thanks, Jeremy PHP Code: ?><script type="text/javascript"> var answer=confirm("Do you want to update your email?"); if(answer==true) { <?php mysql_query("update user set u_email ='$email' where u_user='$username'"); ?> alert ("You choose update your email."); } if(answer==false) { alert ("You had rejected to update your email."); //answer=0; } </script> <? i put this javascript within my php, it should perform update when i click ok, and perform nothing when i click cancel, but the problem is, it will still perform update although i click cancel. someone can solve this for me pls..? Hi all, I have a Javascript problem that only seems to happen in IE... it works fine in Firefox as I've tested! I have this function: Code: function show_video1(){ document.getElementById('video1').style.display="block"; document.getElementById('video2').style.display="none"; document.getElementById('video3').style.display="none"; } function show_video2(){ document.getElementById('video1').style.display="none"; document.getElementById('video2').style.display="block"; document.getElementById('video3').style.display="none"; } function show_video3(){ document.getElementById('video1').style.display="none"; document.getElementById('video2').style.display="none"; document.getElementById('video3').style.display="block"; } etc... what it does is basically switch videos, when a link is click. The problem in IE is that the video continues to play when switched... meaning that videos play 'over the top of each other'. Can anyone advise on this, as I say seems to be fine in Firefox! Many thanks, Greens85 Hi Guys, I cant seem to get my piece of code to with IE8, I have created a drop down box which gets counties from a database. I have attached the code below. Could someone please tell me the problem. Hi there, I only just learning JavaScript and have a question about a bit of script I am playing with. I am basically trying to access XML elements (RSS feed) through a bit of PHP. Everything is working fine when trying to access the <title> and <link>, but when I get to <description> everything breaks down... If I comment out this line var theDescription = descriptions[j].childNodes[0].nodeValue; and <p>' + theDescription + '</p>' then the script works fine and displays the titles and the links of the feed, but with those lines in it all goes to pot. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here? (By the way, don't worry about my method of getting the feed in, using GET etc. This script is part of an AJAX tutorial and I am just messing with it, trying to make it display the title, link, and description from the rss feed) Here is my html/JavaScript: Code: <html><head><title>AJAX XML Example</title> </head><body> <h2>Loading XML content into a DIV</h2> <div id='info'>This sentence will be replaced</div> <script> nocache = "&nocache=" + Math.random() * 1000000 url = "rss.news.yahoo.com/rss/topstories" request = new ajaxRequest() request.open("GET", "xmlget.php?url=" + url + nocache, true) out = ""; request.onreadystatechange = function() { if (this.readyState == 4) { if (this.status == 200) { if (this.responseXML != null) { titles = this.responseXML.getElementsByTagName('title') links = this.responseXML.getElementsByTagName('link') descriptions = this.responseXML.getElementsByTagName('description'); for (j = 0 ; j < titles.length ; ++j) { var theTitle = titles[j].childNodes[0].nodeValue; var theLink = links[j].childNodes[0].nodeValue; var theDescription = descriptions[j].childNodes[0].nodeValue; out += '<p><strong>' + theTitle + '</strong><br /><a href="' + theLink + '">' + theLink + '</a></p><p>' + theDescription + '</p>' ; } document.getElementById('info').innerHTML = out } else alert("Ajax error: No data received") } else alert( "Ajax error: " + this.statusText) } } request.send(null) function ajaxRequest() { try { var request = new XMLHttpRequest() } catch(e1) { try { request = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP") } catch(e2) { try { request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP") } catch(e3) { request = false } } } return request } </script></body></html> Here is the PHP: Code: <?php // xmlget.php if (isset($_GET['url'])) { header('Content-Type: text/xml'); echo file_get_contents("http://".sanitizeString($_GET['url'])); } function sanitizeString($var) { $var = strip_tags($var); $var = htmlentities($var); return stripslashes($var); } ?> Hello everyone,i will try to exaplain you what i am trying to do: I am building a web site in html5 and right now i am working in drag n drop some images from one iframe to another.Until now everything worked great.Today i connected my first iframe with my database so all the pictures are taken from there. For this reason, in my code, i create several <div>,each one with id>=1. My code for this is the following: Code: echo "<div class=\"drag\" id=\"".$info['id']."\" draggable=\"true\"><img src=\"postImages/".$info['id'].".jpg\" class=\"post\"></div>"; Its in php,but my results from chrome are the following: Code: <div class="drag" id="2" draggable="true"><img src="postImages/2.jpg" class="post"></div><<div class="drag" id="1" draggable="true"><img src="postImages/1.jpg" class="post"></div><div class="drag" id="3" draggable="true"><img src="postImages/3.jpg" class="post"></div><div class="drag" id="4" draggable="true"><img src="postImages/4.jpg" class="post"></div> So,so far i created several <div>s with one class "drag" and different ids starting from 1 until 4. And here start my problems!I have to change my code for the drag and drop functions in javascript in order to create a specific array with objects with id the <div> id.In more details,my code so far: Code: var people = { Seth : { blog : "http://google.com", photo: "postImages/1.jpg" } Seth2 : { blog : "http://google.com", photo: "postImages/2.jpg" } }; What i want is the SECOND iframe to create an array named people, but insead of Seth and Seth2 the objects inside to have ids 1,2,3... from my <div>s from the previous iframe. I am trying so many hours for this one (it is obvious that my javascript skills are not that good..) that i dont know what to do..i would be glad if you could help me! Thanks in advance! Hi guys, I am new here and am looking for a bit of help! I am building a website for a friend and am using Javascript.
