JavaScript - Vertical Sync Animations?
Does anyone know a way to do vertical sync with javascript animations (getting timers to run on the vertical sync)?
I rather doubt there is a way to do it, but I find it annoying that when I am dragging an object with my mouse that the object "tears" sometimes. Similar TutorialsHello there! Brand new to the forums, but a regular reader. I'm currently in the process of putting together a site and before I get too much further I had a few Spry related questions (hope this is the correct forum for such questions). Please bear with me if my questions seem plentiful or ignorant. First off, here's the current progress of the site in question: http://thedeadhamster.com/testing/index.htm As you can (hopefully) see, upon the site's loading the header does some slide in animations. This animation would only animate on the home page; all linked pages would have a static header. While I think it looks rather nice I'm actually hesitant to use it. Here's a few of my concerns, perhaps some of you know of some possible solutions: I can't seem to get the images to animate when they're just div backgrounds. As such, I'm using image tags to make up the header which unfortunately adds the images into the HTML structure itself and doesn't really seem "good practice". Or am I simply missing something? The images sometimes "flash" on screen prior to animating, a result of the browser loading the images before the Spry coding I assume. Any simple workaround to that? Should I just forget animating the header and settle for a static background image header instead? Aka, is this more trouble than it's worth? Any thoughts or suggestions are most welcome, I appreciate any help you guys graciously throw my way. Thanks! This menu slides down on hover and slides up on un hover. If I mouse back on either object while slideUp() is happening, the animation stops. Then if i un hover / re-hover , the menu slides down to where i interrupted the initial slideUp(). I'd like for the menu to drop back down if I interrupt slideUp() or some type of solution. How can I do this? Hi, I have a form with a input field(name) and a textarea(keywords). I am using the below code to sync the value of name with keywords. If additional keywords are added in the textarea and then the name field is altered all additional keywords are lost as they are overwritten by the name field sync. I would like to place a comma after the synced value and have whatever follows the comma to not be touched. Like this: Name: keyword1 Keywords: keyword1, keyword2, keyword3, etc. Could anyone point me in the right direction? Any help with this would be most appreciated. So I have a navigation thats decently simple, but the JS doesnt seem to operate in the correct manner. When i hover over a child navigation list item, the parent will start its animation as well. I know when you hover over the child you are in turn hovering over the parent, but is there a way to get the parent to not animate? http://jsfiddle.net/bWRWt/ This is an example we can all work on, which is exactly my situation. Picture this: A Super Mario sprite with him standing normally, but to his right is the word "Home". Upon roll over of either the sprite itself or the text, mario does one of his trademark jumps by the way of a few sprites. I know how to do this in flash, but I would like to eliminate it so I have maximum compatibility and no external plugins required. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks Hello, I was wondering if anyone knew how to alter SmoothGallery to move the thumbnail carousel from a horizontal one along the top to a vertical one along the right side. It's supposedly possible within the core code, and I've seen it done, but it's not in the documentation and no one on the SmoothGallery forums seems to know how to do it. Ultimately, I'd like to move the carousel to the right side, make it static so that it's always overlaying the main image (rather than clicking to unhide it), and make sure the slideInfoZone is adjusted so as to not overlap with the carousel. I'm assuming that anyone who knows how to do it has SmoothGallery and has made the carousel vertical before... but if not, and someone wants to take a crack at it anyway, the SmoothGallery files are HERE. My question is simple, for some reason when clicking on one of the buttons to filter, the items are first ordered into a vertical row then redrawn horizontally. First it pops op above the slider div and after the slide finishes it goes away. I want it to slide without the jumping up and down in the top. Please help Hi All, I would like to ask is if there is any way I could control the selectbox's vertical scroll bar. scenario: user inputs value from a textbox and it appends it to the selectbox. after the user inputs more than 5 entries, the selectbox will create the vertical scroll bar but will not focus/show the latest entry. problem: i can't seem to automatically focus or show the latest entry. what i did: i am using jquery to add data to the selectbox and i use jquery to set the selected value. this code selects the latest value on the selectbox but it doesn't scroll down to show it. the user still has to drag the scroll bar down. any idea i can auto scroll it to the latest value? thanks for the help Right so I have a popup window that when opened in any browser expect of course IE will open perfectly in the centre of the screen. However with IE it decides to jump to the top of the page, then is pushed back down to just show the popup at the bottom of the window. Anyone got any idea how I can stop this? Using IE8. Hi, I would like to use the menu that is linked below. I implemented it on my website but I discovered that it can only go 2 levels deep. I would like it to go one more level and I think that would be done in the javascript but I can't tell for sure. First: How can I set the menu to automatically expand on mouse rollover instead of click?
