JavaScript - Filling Out Forms Without An Input Id?
Hi I'm trying to fill out a form on this site using JavaScript: http://pacesalsa.promotionexpert.com...2/register.jsp
However, the fields do not have input IDs; they only have span IDs. I've tried using the span IDs, but it doesnsn't work. Here is the code I'm trying to use: Code: document.getElementById('fn'). value='" FName "'; Where FName is the value I want filled into the field. Could someone please tell me how to use JavaScript to fill in the fields of this form (and check those pesky check boxes)? Thanks. I can't even seem to get the auto fill part to work so any help on it and/or the check part of the script would be awesome
Hello, I'm trying to fill an array with the values of a listbox from a SQL query but somehow I can only get the first word of each registry Code: var arrayX=[]; function getValue(){ var x=document.getElementById("combo_color"); for (var i = 0; i < x.options.length; i++) { if(x[i].value!=''){ arrayX.push(x[i].value); } } } for example, with the color Green Karanka I only get Green inside the array, the same happens with any color with more than one word, any ideas? Thanks. Hi all, I have been working on a map, which now works and highlights and shows the location name on mouseover. I am having problems with how to go about getting users to be able to click on a region of the map, and depending on which region is clicked, to populate a drop down list which will appear on the same page. Then, the option which is chosen from the drop down list, would populate a blank field for the user- eg. preferences 1 - 4. The next location, would populate another drop down list, and the chosen option would populate the next blank field, if the previous one is already filled. This is what I have for the drop down lists, where the drop down is only populated from "location" array and need to somehow incorporate other array lists "locationsSouth" , "LocationsEast" and others if they were chosen. Code: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"> <html> <head> <title>Drop down box</title> <script language="javascript"> function addOption(selectbox, text, value ) { var optn = document.createElement("OPTION"); optn.text = text; optn.value = value; selectbox.options.add(optn); } function addOption_list(selectbox){ var location = new Array("location1","location2","location3"); var locationsSouth = new Array("location1.1","location2.1","location3.1") var locationsEast = new Array ("location1.2","location2.2","location3.2") for (var i=0; i < location.length;++i){ // addOption(document.drop_list.Location_list, location[i], location[i]); // } } </script> </head> <body onLoad="addOption_list()";> Preferences <br><br> <FORM name="drop_list" action="yourpage.php" method="POST" > <SELECT NAME="Location_list"> <Option value="" >Far North</option> </SELECT> </form> </td></tr></table><div> </body> </html> This is the format of the areas of the map Code: <AREA onmouseover=changeImage(pic12); onmouseout=changeImage(pic13); shape=POLY target=_self alt="Mid North" COORDS="276,203, 284,214, 289,217, 285,267, 274,267, 257,265, 254,263, 241,291, 222,293, 229,284, 238,280, 245,249, 250,236, 253,230, 253,210, 266,201" href="section.asp?regionID=12"> I hope this made sense; I'm still trying to think about how to tackle the problem myself. I'm using the autofill forms plugin for firefox which can be found he https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4775 I use it to automatically fill various web forms, duh. But I would like certain values to be chosend randomly from a list I create. I contacted the developer and he said the add on probably does not need a new feature because there is a 'dynamic tags' function to fill certain forms with dynamic values (e.g. the current time or date). He has given over the project to another developer and told me I probably would find a solution in a good javascript programming forum. So here I am! Can anyone help me with this? Basically, I just need a javascript code which chooses on item from an array randomly, I guess? I'm not a programmer myself, so any help would be greatly (!) appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance for any further guidance! Im trying to work out a way of entering the contents of a div (which changes regularly) into a form field when it is focused on. The issue is that the div containing the text value is in an iframe of a php file (gallery.php). The div (#lbBottom) text contents that I need to use is the caption of the current photo open with a light-box style jquery plugin (slimbox). The gallery is formed using the php and needs to be in an iframe to align the lightbox correctly. #lbBottom is generated by title=\"Code: $alttag1\" and give a result of Code: +the current photo number. Ideally it is just the photo number (last 2 characters) that I need but the contents of the div will do! Would appreciate any help or advice anyone can give loads! But I now have a small problem. I need one of those text fields to be automaticly filled by the informations selected in 2 drop lists. This is how it would looks like : Machine-Name : __________ (empty text field) Drop-List1 : abc (the user selected the string "abc" from the list.) Machine-Name : abc- Drop-List 2 : zxy(the user selected the string "zxy" from the list.) Machine-Name : abc-zxy- I hope you understand what I mean. If needed, I can past those fields and list code, but I don't think that would be very useful since it is kind of trivial. So, in words, how would you guys proceed to achieve this goal? I have a problem with adding new inputs to a form (if and when required), Internet Explorer is fine but in Firefox if any previous input fields are filled when the more button is clicked they get reset to blank. JS: Code: fields = 0; function addInput() { if (fields != 100) { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<input type='text' name='input[]' size='30' />"; fields += 1; } else { document.getElementById('input').innerHTML += "<br />Maximum 100 fields allowed."; document.form.add.disabled=true;} } form: Code: <form action="index.php" method="post"> <div id="input"> <input type="text" name="input[]" size="30" maxlength="15" /> </div> <!-- button --> <div id="more"> <input type="button" onclick="addInput()" name="add" value="More" /> </div> <!-- // button --> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Submit" /> </form> as usual any help is appretiated .. I am thinking this should be fairly easy but yet I am not getting far. I want to have a form with a single text imput field for a zip code. Depending on which zip code the user enters will determine which url they will be sent to. If they enter a zip code which is not in the script, they would be sent to a default url. I am also assuming this can be accomplished with javascript. Any help is greatly appreciated. Hi, i want to set an input value to the same value as the input selected from another input on the same form so when the user selects input 1 i want the hidden input2 to get the same value im guessing i use onsubmit because its hidden so there wont be a focus or blur this would be part of the input Code: onsubmit="(this.value = this.othervalue)" othervalue being the other input name="othervalue" is that the correct syntax Hi, i have an input value array for customer ids, i also need to make a copy of that array into another input element on submit to use for another process. So far here is what i have come up with regarding the js the current html is this Code: <!-- original input --> <input id="cb<?php echo $i;?>" name="cid[]" value="<?php echo $commissions[$i]['id'];?>" onclick="isChecked(this.checked);" type="checkbox" /> <!-- this is new html input which is outside the $i loop that i need a copy of cid[] stored on submit <input type="hidden" name="ids[]" onsubmit="valueTovalue();" /> <!-- here is the js so far --> <script type="text/javascript"> function valueTovalue() { var valin = document.adminForm.cid.value; //cid is the array cid[] document.adminForm.ids.value = valin; //copy the array to the new input element array ids } </script> so basically if they click 1 cid then ids will also show 1, if they click all cid then ids will show all as well. will that work the way i have it, am i even close here.. thanks update: what i have seems to work fine for text values or string values but not for arrays, what am i missing that it wont copy an array? Array ( [cid] => Array ( [0] => 1 ) [task] => remarksonly [remark] => hhhyyy [boxchecked] => 1 [ids] => Array ( [0] => ) ) am i getting closer lol Code: function valueTovalue() { var valin = cid.concat; document.adminForm.ids.value = valin.concat; return(true); this has to be close i hope Code: document.adminForm.ids.value = [].concat(document.adminForm.cid); Hi all can someone guide me (total JS newbie) on this presumably pretty easy task? I have a "parent" page with some text inputs in it (a form). This is what I am after: -when the user clicks a link it pops open a new window via JS - "child" (this is working). -in the "child" window there are also some text inputs (another form) (done). -when the user changes the value for 'testChild_textInput_4' in the child window, then I want it to automatically set this same value, to effectively overwrite, what is currently in 'testParent_textInput_2' in the parent window. Presumably this involves an onChange event, but it is also OK with me if the needful (the text input's value in the parent window being overwritten) happens upon the child window's form submit. If anyone can show me either trick, I would be thrilled! I set up a test page to make this all easy to talk about: http://www.yellow-turtle.com/testDumpMe_parent.html Please let me know! Thanks! -John Forgive me if this isn't in the right spot. I'm new at php and java so bear with me. I have small form I found and modified. This works as I wanted it to. I want to do 1 page , 5 forms , 1 submit button so when i click on the submit button it will send the 5 forms as 1 form. how I can so that? thanks , Mor. Hello, I have a tricky one here. What I have is a form where the user would enter in their food recipe. There is nothing clever in that until I need them to enter in the ingredients and the quantity into 2 seperate fields. The issue is that I don't know how many different ingredients there would be for the recipe so from within the form before the record is saved I need them to be able to fill out the 2 fields as many times as they need to (pressing a button each time) and I would have thought for the data to be held in a javascript array that i could then write away into the mysql table? I probably haven't made much sense. Can anyone help? Okay well here is my code. i want to mkae it so the functions add together to get a total price, i need some help Code: <html> <head> </head> <script type="text/javascript"> function addit(){ if(document.getElementById("add").value=="0") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$0.00" } if(document.getElementById("add").value=="1") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$5.00" } if(document.getElementById("add").value=="2") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$10.00" } if(document.getElementById("add").value=="3") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$15.00" } } function addit2(){ if(document.getElementById("add2").value=="4") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$30.00" } if(document.getElementById("add2").value=="5") { document.getElementById("amount").value="$40.00" } } </script> <body> <table class="comparison pricing-email" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" width="30%"> <tbody> <tr class="row1"> <td class="col1">Choose # of EMAIL accounts: <select style="width: 60px; font-size: 17px;" name="add" id="add" onChange="addit()"> <option value="0"> </option> <option value="1">1</option> <option value="2">3</option> <option value="3">6</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr class="row2"> <td class="col2">Choose # of EMAIL accounts: <select style="width: 60px; font-size: 17px;" name="add" id="add2" onChange="addit2()"> <option value="0"> </option> <option value="4">44</option> <option value="5">43</option> <option value="3">342</option> </select> </td> </tr> <tr class="row1"> <td class="col1">Total Price: <input type="text" id="amount" value="" style="border:none; font-size:13pt;"></td> </tr><tr> <td> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Sign-Up"> </td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </form> </body> I am trying to set up a form for paypal where the amount (cost) of the product is based on the currency chosen. I am trying to set this up using javascript which would submit the form and change the amount in the form. However, as a beginner, I am having some issues. This is what I have currently: Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> function CalculateOrder(theform) { var currency = theform.currency_code.value; if (currency == "GBP") { theform.amount.value = "1.29" } else if (currency == "USD") { theform.amount.value = "1.99" } else if (currency == "EUR") { theform.amount.value = "1.39" } document.payform.submit(); } </script> </head> <body> <form target="paypal" action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr " method="post" name="payform"> <input type="hidden" name="on0" value="Currency"> <select name="currency_code"> <option value="GBP" selected >GBP</option> <option value="USD">USD</option> <option value="EUR">EUR</option> </select> </p> <input type="image" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif " onClick="CalculateOrder(this.form)" alt="Make payments with PayPal - it's fast, free and secure!"> <input type="hidden" name="add" value="1"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_xclick"> <input type="hidden" name="business" value="myemail@gmail.com"> <input type="hidden" name="item_name" value="My Prouct"> <input type="hidden" name="amount" value="0.00"> <input type="hidden" name="shipping" value="0"> <input type="hidden" name="no_shipping" value="1"> </form> </fieldset> </body> </html> The javascript is executed but clicking the image submits the form before the javascript runs and I am worried that the javascript may not run before the form is submitted so the amount would not be calculated - please help! I do not want to calculate the costs based on the exchange rate. I would really prefer (and also find it simpler) to just specify the cost in each currency. Thanks in advance! Hey I was hoping someone could help me. I have written a form in HTML. But it is very long - I would like to make it a Tabbed form so that at the top there is tabs for each section to make it more managable and less intimidating. I figured it was probably Javascript - but I don't know JS so I was wondering what I would have to do for that form to be made? Is there a predefined function or something or does anyone know how to code a form like that? Regards, Angelous Im very much a beginner and just wanted to test out using forms and displaying results using the Javascript IF statement. Below is what Im trying to do which is see how a form works and display the entered data using the Javascript IF statement but I'm confused on why it won't work. <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript"> if (myNum == 7){ document.write("7"); } else { document.write("not 7"); } </script> </head> <body> <p><font size="5">Trying to understand the text box in forms and displaying results using Javascipt</font></p> <hr /> <form method="get" name="jsform"> <input type="text" name="myNum"> <input type="submit" value="SUBMIT"> </form> </body> </html> I need help and a good Beginners book to read thanks John |
