JavaScript - How To Choose A Hidden Filed Based On A Selected Item

I've inherited this piece and now I'm suppose to add to it. Its basic function currently is when the "Other" option is selected, a hidden text field shows. Now, I need to add when "Athletics" is selected, another hidden select group will show.
I've set up the new Select group already, but not sure how to incorporate it into the already existing script. I've been researching for two days, and hopefully this form will be helpful.

Ok so let's say I have this dropdown with a list of these items:

PALCO
TRIBUNA
ORO

And in a button on the page I want to send it one of those names, let's say I send it ORO, and through Javascript select that in the dropdown list. How is this done? Do I have to iterate through everything, and how?

I have a form that has a checkbox that I want to base a hidden value on. If the checkbox is checked I want the hidden value to be 25. If not checked, I want the value to be 0. I am working with code someone else has written and I am fairly new to javascript and cannot get it to work.
Here is the code on the form:

As I said, i am really new to javascript and I am working with someone else's code. All the research I have done has just confused me more about why it is not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to combine shipping across different items in a javascript shopping cart. I can comine shipping based on how many items are in the cart, and characteristics of the item being added. But not both. I need the script to combine shipping based on how many items are in the cart, as well as the item name of the item being added to the cart.

I assume I need to check the cart quantity in 1 function, then have it call 1 of 2 other functions based on how many items are in the cart. The 2nd function would charge the shipping based on the item name. I don't know if the code is wrong, and where I should put the 2 additional functions I am adding. It isn't working though.

I'm taking a beginning javascript class and have been trying to figure out one last part of a homework assignment and am just not seeing how to work it out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What I'm having trouble with is doing the text verification. When a user selects an option from the select list they then need to type in the text area given. If the user doesn't type the word selected in the list then an error message should appear under the text area. If you look at my code you'll see that I have the text_check() function doing the verification. I can get it to work when there is only one option but once I add the other two it stops working. I've tried if... else and other variations, but can't seem to nail it down. Thanks!

I have an options list that is generated from a database. It currently has ~125 options in it.

I've received the request that the user be able to either enter the corresponding number or select the option from the list.

How can I update the "selected" attribute in the options list based on a number that may be entered in another text entry box?

I have a form which contains a few drop down lists.
The contents of the dropdown lists are dependent on each other and are populated via php scripts which are called each time a selection is made or changed by the user.

When the view results button is clicked in the form I need the user to be directed to a specific page based on the selections they have made.

The url of the page they need to be directed to is really based on what has been chosen in the first dropdown. The subsequent dropdowns form variables that I need to be sent to the page so that the data the user sees on that page is relevant.

ie if the user has chosen bikes then a specific manufacturer then a specific price range the page they will be sent to will be the bike.php page with all the manufacturer specific bikes in their chosen price range visible. Can anyone tell me the best way to go about doing this please?

I had thought about using the php header script along with an if statement but how do I then go about getting the variables sent to the page to be recognised?

Would I be better looking at the window.location in js to do this?

Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated on this. I can post the code for the form if that makes any difference.

i have a Drop down list with 10 choices (skillset).
users must choose one skillset and the corresponding level (beginer/intermediate/master). ( they have to do this 10 times for all the sillsets)

what i want is :


1 - i need to show up only one record (dropdowanlist) with level
then have a button to add new skill and level if required


2- then when they choose the 1st skill from the dropdown , this one will not show up on the 2nd choice dropdown.

is it possible

I have a drop down menu where people can select a month, day and year. Based on their selection, I want to show them an image.

If their selection is >= July 26, 2010 but <= July 25, 2011, show the red image;
If their selection is >= July 26, 2011 but <= July 25, 2012, show the white image;
If their selection is >= July 26, 2012 but <= July 25, 2013, show the blue image;
If their selection is >= July 26, 2013 but <= July 25, 2014, show the yellow image;

I don't know how to compare a selected date to a range of dates like this.
