JavaScript - Inserting A Variable Into Document.formname.radionname[elementnumber].value
Hi,
I've been looking around the web and forums for the past few days now. Javascript is not my forte but I am beginning to understand more of it. My issue is perhaps in the method that I have tried to concatenate a variable to my radio buttons. The scenario: I have about 10 groups of radio buttons , each with 4 options. radioname1[0] radioname1[1] radioname1[2] radioname1[3] radioname2[0] radioname2[1] etc... I know how to put a variable into Code: document.form.radioname1[i].value but what I need to know is how to assign a variable to the radioname, so that I can iterate through each radionameVARIABLEHERE[i].value ? I have been looking and trying to for days. All I really need to know is how to get a variable into the radiobutton name. I know how to use a for loop to get this to iterate through it all but its just the syntax that isn't playing nice. Any help on this would be much appreciated ASAP P.S. every time I run this using firebug, it says I have one error. That on line 122 variable o is null. And when I go through the code using firebug line by line, it gets to thevar o = document.getElementById("header"); and stores nothing in o, making it null. What could be my issue here?? Hey all! Got a question I can't seem to find an answer to. I have a little JS app that is a glorified calculator which I posted the code for below. My code uses the document object to replace the html in the "content" <div> and works great. However, I want to add an inline style in order to change the background of the input (readonly field with an id of "coutput") based on either of the global variables named "MJPD" or "IJPD", (depending on the switch case selected in the user prompt at the beginning of the script.) Simplified....if the value of MJPD is less than 4.6, I want the "coutput" field's background to be red, else be green. The same goes for IJPD, except the threshold for red will be <3.83. Code and what I have tried is below. After reading the code, look below it to see what I have tried and maybe tell me what I'm doing wrong! =) Any help is greatly appreciated.......I have spent a week searching for this little answer and I can't seem to find it! OK, so on the last line of each case statement where it injects html code into the content div, in this code style=" background: ** ** " and in between the ** ** marks, I have added such things as <script type="text/javascript">document.write(mjpdcolor())</script> (or ijpdcolor, depending on which case I am working with). Theoretically, this should pull the value of MJPD (or IJPD), evaluate it for the if statement, then return the value of red or green and set the value of the background dynamically - but of course it doesnt. I have also tried different inline styles and even adding the css id and trying to link it to the mjpdcolor() function, but all to no avail. Can someone help me please?? I found this line in one of the scripts on javascript.kit <code> if(document.layers|| document.getElementById|| document.all) </code> Could someone give me an idea on why this line would be used in a code? Thank you very much I'm working on a website that will basically embed a widget/frame sent by a handler into a user's current page. The user basically adds a script tag to where they would like the HTML to be. The script tag has their settings and is basically a document.write that calls all the code that we want displayed. So here's my problem. We have a map that we need to add in a specific section, and to get the map we have to call another script tag. So we end up having a script tag (map) embedded in another script tag (the code for the widget/frame) or we end up having to document.write inside a document.write. Now this works just fine and as expected in Firefox, Safari, and Chrome. However, Internet Explorer and Opera wait until the first document.write is completely finished before calling the embedded one. Of course the problem with this, is that it takes the map out of the document's flow and just appends it to the bottom left of the page. Since the rest of the page has already been called, there's no way to move the interior "map" script. Any ideas? Basically just trying to figure out how (if even possible) to render an embedded script tag in Internet Explorer and be able to place it properly. I've tried everything that I can think of, including AJAX and Google's unescape script. Any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. Or even if you've encountered a similar problem, and know that it just isn't possible in IE or Opera, that would be fine too. Thanks in advance! So my goal was to insert a mini ICO image (of an R) and have it be a link to an external news page for each individual player on a fantasy team. The code below gets the proper link to each player and inserts the image and corresponding link one at a time though a couple different functions. I have inserted the IMG successfully (see attached), but I am having issues with the link. There are times when the images load accurately with the correct link and others when some of the 'href' elements say undefined. And it isn't consistent either, as to imply that it is a specific coding error. It is completely random and sometimes they are even all correct. Could this have something to do with the asynchronicity of the GM_xmlhttprequests and the loop? If so, is there some way to get around that? This is the bottom of the code which gets fed an array teamURL with all the proper URLs. All of the variables and arrays have the correct information, as they have been checked and double checked. I have two javascript problems. 1). I have a java script that displays 'What's On Air Now' and 'Today's Schedule' which are located in a 'Resources' folder on our website. I have been using Namo Web Editor for several years but, after many problems, I bought WebPlus X4 from Serif Applications. It's a very good program but I'm having severe problems inserting the Javascripts mentioned above. With Namo, I just had to add: "<script type="text/javascript" src="resources/onair.js"> and the same for 'Today's Programs':"<script type="text/javascript" src="resources/schedule.js">". with WebPlus X4, I've had no luck after trying numerous times and requesting help from Serif who would not help.
