JavaScript - Xpath Support In Ie For Html Document Searching?
Dear All:
My apologies - this is probably something that comes up time and time again. However, I was wondering - I realize there does not seem to be a "standard" way to do this (without additional libraries), but is there any "hacky" method that can be used to get XPath support in IE? What I mean is for parsing the loaded HTML document. Thank you Misha Similar TutorialsIs there a way to redirect your site to another site if the browser doesn't support HTML 5? So, if you where using an old version of IE or Firefox that didn't support HTML 5 it would redirect them to another page. hi guys, im really new to javascript. Can someone tell me how to open a html file using javascript. THanks I posted before but have read that this may be more accurate and help my answers. I would like dome help in explaining how I might be able to manipulate this javascript section to lay it out in html and or using css. Can this be done via this part of the script or is there something I can wrap around it? Thanks document.write("<SCRIPT type='text/JavaScript' SRC='http://images.compucars.co.uk/scripts/stockv2.asp?notMakeID="+QueryString('notMakeID')+"&makeID="+QueryString('makeID')+"&searchURL="+sear chURL+"&rspage="+QueryString('rspage')+"&ID="+QueryString('ID')+"&intMax="+QueryString('intMax')+"&i ntMin="+QueryString('intMin')+"&bodyType="+QueryString('bodyType')+"&fuelType="+QueryString('fuelTyp e')+"&maxPerPage="+maxPerPage+"&memberID="+memberID+"&align="+strAlign+"&URL="+escape(window.locatio n.protocol + '//' + window.location.host + window.location.pathname)+"'></SCR"+"IPT>"); I need to save an HTML page to Word using JavaScript. Any ideas on that? I have found some script on-line but all of them use the "Save As" procedure which only allows to save in txt and html format. I need it to be in Word. Thanks! Hi, I was wondering if it's possible to capture a piece of HTML using XPath where the source is a sting rather than a document. I know how to use xPath and document.evaluate() as I've used it before on actual web pages - I just dont understand how to run it on a string of HTML. E.g. if I have this string: var stg = "<div>The best-laid schemes o' <span>mice</span> an' men</div>"; I'd like to convert this string into something that I can run the document.evaluate() on so that I can find the contents of the SPAN element (without loading the string into a real browser page). Thanks Hi! how do I include .html files inside a document.write()? Like document.write('include top.html' "hello!" 'include bottom.html') or something. I searched for it, and found this: <!--#include file="top.html" --> But it doesn't work for me. What is wrong? I would be very happy if someone could help me Hi everybody I have a problem I want a beautiful accordion header on my website and use pirobox that is a lightbox version. I had this problem before but then u used a slideshow instead of this accordion header. If I use this code: only the accordion works Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pirobox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $().piroBox({ my_speed: 300, //animation speed bg_alpha: 0.5, //background opacity slideShow : 'true', // true == slideshow on, false == slideshow off slideSpeed : 3, //slideshow close_all : '.piro_close' // add class .piro_overlay(with comma)if you want overlay click close piroBox }); }); </script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/mootools.js"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/script.js"></script> but if I change the order like this: only the pirobox works Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/mootools.js"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/script.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pirobox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $().piroBox({ my_speed: 300, //animation speed bg_alpha: 0.5, //background opacity slideShow : 'true', // true == slideshow on, false == slideshow off slideSpeed : 3, //slideshow close_all : '.piro_close' // add class .piro_overlay(with comma)if you want overlay click close piroBox }); }); </script> Then in the demo version there is this code: Code: <script type="text/javascript"> new LofmCordion( {wapperSelector: $E('#lof-cordion-1 .lof-cordion-wapper') } ); </script> I don't know where to use it. In the demo version it's in the end, but I tried that and it still didn't work. I also used it immidiately after: Code: <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/mootools.js"></script> <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript" src="js/script.js"></script> But it still doesn't work.. Please help me I'm kinda new to javascript and I really want to know how to solve this! thanks Hi everybody I have a problem I want a header that is a slideshow and use lightbox for other images. No I have this all working but not at the same time. If I use this code in this order only the first script that is the lightbox script works. PHP Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pirobox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $().piroBox({ my_speed: 300, //animation speed bg_alpha: 0.5, //background opacity slideShow : 'true', // true == slideshow on, false == slideshow off slideSpeed : 3, //slideshow close_all : '.piro_close' // add class .piro_overlay(with comma)if you want overlay click close piroBox }); }); </script> <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script src="js/jquery.cycle.all.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.slideshow').cycle({ fx: 'scrollLeft', speed: 1000, timeout: 7000 }); }); </script> If I use this code so I switched the order only the slideshow works: PHP Code: <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script src="js/jquery.cycle.all.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.slideshow').cycle({ fx: 'scrollLeft', speed: 1000, timeout: 7000 }); }); </script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pirobox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $().piroBox({ my_speed: 300, //animation speed bg_alpha: 0.5, //background opacity slideShow : 'true', // true == slideshow on, false == slideshow off slideSpeed : 3, //slideshow close_all : '.piro_close' // add class .piro_overlay(with comma)if you want overlay click close piroBox }); }); </script> I also tried this: but then they both did not work PHP Code: <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.cycle.all.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/jquery.min.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript" src="js/pirobox.js"></script> <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ $('.slideshow').cycle({ fx: 'scrollLeft', speed: 1000, timeout: 7000 }); $().piroBox({ my_speed: 300, //animation speed bg_alpha: 0.5, //background opacity slideShow : 'true', // true == slideshow on, false == slideshow off slideSpeed : 3, //slideshow close_all : '.piro_close' // add class .piro_overlay(with comma)if you want overlay click close piroBox }); }); </script> Can you help me solve this problem so they both work? Hello, I want to read tag values of an xml using xpath in firefox extension (basically javascript). The example from w3schools works perfectly fine as long as the XML does not have XMLNS attribute to the root element. The same example code does not work with xmlns attribute specified. Similarly, the xml I receive from my SOAP service has xmlns as below: <DescribeInstancesResponse xmlns="http://ec2.amazonaws.com/doc/2009-07-15/"> However, I am unable to read values from my xml, inspite of specifying a 'name space resolver'. I have tried with simple namespace resolver which just returns the above URI as a string and also tried creating NSResolver following the instructions given here. Could anyone help me how to solve this? Regards, vcage Hi there, Im a total newbie and learning html and javascript as I go along, so any help you can give is greatly appreciated! It is possible to perform a find in page search that looks at a specific link, opens the page in a new window and finds the text within that document?? Basically I regularly use an html page in work that has a list of people and their telephone numbers. I want to be able to type in a searchbox on my main page and it open the target page and find the name I am looking for? Is this possible or can you only Find In Page on the same page or another frame? Tearing my hair out........ Thanks Glen My code is here and it works ... However, I would like my dynamic table to show on the same page as my body and not on a new blank page. I have created a DIV and try playing around with the document.getElementById('monTab').innerHTML but it's not working out for me ... What am i missing ? Regards, Code: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD><TITLE>new Script - Javascript Cours 11</TITLE> <META content="text/html"; charset="UTF-8" http-equiv="content-type"> <SCRIPT type="text/javascript"> function createTable(){ var Etudiant = new Array(Number(prompt("How many Students will you put in ?",""))); document.write("<table border=\"1\">"); for (var i=0; i<Etudiant.length; i++) { Etudiant[i] = window.prompt("S'il vous plait entrez le nom d'un etudiant " + (i+1) + ".","") alert("Nice to see you "+Etudiant[i]); document.write("<td>"+Etudiant[i]+"</td>"); j = parseInt(prompt("Combien de notes voulez vous calculez ?")); for (h=0;h<j;h++){ notes[h] = parseInt(prompt("S'il vous plait entrez la "+(h+1)+" note de "+Etudiant[i])); document.write("<td>"+notes[h]+"</td>"); } document.write("<tr>"); } document.write("</tr>"); document.write("</table>"); document.getElementById('monTab').innerHTML=Etudiant; } </script> <BODY> <H1>Combien de note voulez vous cumulez ?</H1> <br> <br> <input type="button" name="btnSubmit" value="TRY IT" onclick="createTable()"> <div id="monTab" size="10"> Content should come here ...Content should come here ...Content should come here ...Content should come here ...Content should come here ...Content should come here ...Content should come here ... </div> </BODY> </HTML> This is a very simple question, but one that I can't fathom!! Consider this xpath query: Code: var inputs = document.evaluate(".//input", myform, null, XPathResult.ANY_TYPE, null); All I want to know is, which property of inputs tells me how many items it contains? I have tried all the ones that a rational, sensible, normal person would try: "length", "len", "count", "number", "items", "size", "sizeof", but all of them are "undefined". Clearly, whoever wrote the document.evaluate function thought it would be far too obvious to call the property something simple like "length"! I am using a javascript slideshow called fadeshow. (Main code below). I am wondering if there is a way to have thumbnail support, so I could allow the users to click on a thumbnail and have fadeshow go to that photo in the array. I have gotten a next / previous button working but also would like to add thumbnails. How would I write an a href link to specify an image in the array? Can this be done? Code: <script type="text/javascript"> var mygallery2=new fadeSlideShow({ wrapperid: "fadeshow2", //ID of blank DIV on page to house Slideshow dimensions: [1000, 665], //width/height of gallery in pixels. for (var i=0; i < document.myform.registrationtype.length; i++) { if (document.myform.registrationtype[i].checked) { var registrationtype = document.myform.registrationtype[i].value; } } what is wrong with this? i'm trying to get the value of registrationtype (a radio box) i'm getting an error object doesn't support this propery or method I have looked at the various posts about setting onclick in IE and I cannot see any that exactly describe the problem I am having. Firstly I am not trying to set onclick by calling setAttribute, which most of the posts describe. I am simply assigning a value to the onclick attribute of the element, which those posts seem to imply. Specifically I am getting "Object doesn't support this action" on the following line: Code: editButton.onclick = editCitation; editCitation is already a function, so I do not see why I should have to wrap it in an anonymous function wrapper to get IE to permit the assignment. |
